Unity Hip Hop - Whimsical and Sweet!

Good evening! Hopping along with the Unity Design Team tonight for our monthly hop - always the last Thursday of the month - and today also the last day of MARCH! Where has this year been going?!?!? Anyway - I'm sharing a couple cards with the current Sentiment Kit - I love the whimsical images, and as always, the adorable sentiments that go with it! This one in particular I couldn't resist - especially paired up with that sweet bird!

I did some bright two layer watercolor "blobs" around the outside, then colored the inside of the bird in gray. I added a bit of watercolor over the sentiment to accent a couple of the words and give a little interest. Added some pattern paper, doily, and a bit of jute twine to finish.

Next up - I thought this was a perfect card to send someone who is not feeling well:

Again - watercolors, some pretty pattern paper layers, a bit of doily and jute twine finish this one off!

Make sure and hop along to win one of the prizes for leaving comments!

And don't forget to check out the weekend sales!

Inspired by Women

Good morning! Another Unity card and Quick Tip video this morning! I think this is one of my favorite stamps from the release last week! :)

The video - showing how I combined watercolors with heat embossed resist to create a background:

At the end, I tucked a few pieces of washi tape under the image - it just felt like it needed a little something extra to make the images pop!

Party Girl - Foiling with Adhesive Tape

Good morning! I recently got a Minc foiling machine (it was on clearance at my local Michael's and I finally couldn't resist!) - and while I haven't perfected using it yet, especially since I don't have a laser printer - I have found a few ways to use that lovely foil I have suddenly laying around everywhere! :) Like on this card - using adhesive tape to add gold foil stripes to pattern paper - and I share a Quick Tip video below as well!

Here is that Quick Tip video - showing my process:

I love how super simple and quick it is to add beautiful foiled shine. On the other hand...I really hate trying to take pictures of foiled cards! Seems to NEVER come out looking as good as real life. Oh well - guess you'll just have to give it a try so you can see for yourself!

The image is a new Angie girl from Unity Stamps - I colored it with Copic markers, then tore it out to add an interesting edge. The sentiment I trimmed around straight, then tucked some gold thread under it to help enhance all the gold accents on this card.
