MFT Getting Sketchy #68 - It's a Country Thing

Hello! Just posting my entry for this weeks Getting Sketchy Challenge! Here is my card this week:

I went back to my Pure Innocence stamps, and inked up this sweet cowgirl again. She is definitely one of my favorites! The papers are all from Lily Bee Designs Buttercup 6x6 Tiny Tablet. LOVE the color combo on those papers!

I colored the stamp in using my Copic markers, stamped the sentiment stacked, then masked out the image, and stamped the script the MFT set called First Class Friend. It didn't work as well as I planned...didn't stamp hard enough the first time, so I had to go over it a couple of times. Learned from that mistake for next time I guess!

I inked the edges of everything with Gray Versamark ink, and made a hand trimmed banner along the bottom.  

Added a PTI button, and some gray Baker's Twine to finish it off. Almost forgot - the edge is punched with a Martha Stewart edge punch!

Market Street Stamps April Paint the Town Color Challenge

I recently got some more Market Street stamps...and was very excited to play with them! So this month's Paint the Town color challenge seemed a perfect opportunity! Here is what I came up with:

I love all these pretty colors! I think I might have gone a bit bright on the green and yellow...but it just kind of happened! I used a bunch of random paper scraps from my stash - have NO idea who they are from! 

The little camper is paper pieced...and I meant to color the tire in with my Copics, but just noticed I forgot! Oops! I stamped the sentiment from the set 3 times...just cause it looked like it needed it! 

I used some Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Linen on the edges of the white paper, and stamped the little hearts and dots from the set in the upper left hand corner. Also added some tiny dots with a black pen. 

Did some faux stitching around the outside edges with my Sakura Glaze pen...so it is a little shiny and dimensional. Tied a piece of yellow twill ribbon from Ribbon Carousel in a bow, and pop-dotted the image after matting it with black paper.

New Peachy Keen Challenge!

I really love the colors in this photo - they were so sunny and happy! Here are the sets I used for this card:

I stamped the cloud background directly on my card base to begin. LOVE this background! I just need to get a better blue inkpad now! The sun is a Silhouette file (click HERE for a link to the file in the Silhouette store).

The green and yellow papers are from Echo Park, and the orange on the bottom is from Basic Grey. I cut the border with a Martha Stewart border punch. The sentiment tag is just hand trimmed.

Also put the sun on an Action wobble!!! Here it is in action:

Finished off with some Baker's Twine and a PTI button, as well as a lot of faux stitching.

Birthday Balloons - Unity Friends with Flair

Good morning! I am so excited to share my card this morning! I made it for my Dad's birthday that we celebrated last weekend. I typically struggle with masculine cards, but was SOOOO happy with how this one came out! I am also linking up with Unity Friends with Flair for this week...make sure and check out all the details on how to join in and win some free stamps!

I used the March KOTM for the diamond background, the balloons, and the sentiment. The background paper and balloon paper are from a My Mind's Eye 6x6 paper pad, and the center one with the diamond background is from a Basic Grey 6x6 paper pad. 

I used my Tim Holtz distress tool to distress all the edges, then used lots of Tim Holtz distress ink in Frayed Burlap on all the edges. I stamped and cut the balloons out, distressed and inked them as well, then attached some twine from Ribbon Carousel to the back of them.

I attached them to the front card panel using pop-dots - just one for each balloon so that they would still move around a bit - more fun and whimsical that way! 

Added some burlap ribbon (also from Ribbon Carousel!) to the front of the card, then adhere the middle panel over the top with foam adhesive. Finished off by stamping the sentiment on a hand trimmed tag, then tying it up with the balloon "strings" and a PTI button. Oh yes...did add a bit of faux stitching around the outside edges of the card as well.

How's it Rollin'?

Haha...I just love a stamp that makes you laugh! And this one from Unity Stamps definitely does it! I used the image, then paired it with a sentiment from the May 2010 KOTM instead of one of the ones it came with.

All the pattern paper is from Echo Park's Happy Days 6x6 paper pad. I paper pieced the toilet paper roll with some pink paper that reminded me of the stuff that I always used to see in my Grandma's bathroom when we went to visit! 

Behind that, I tore the edges of some kraft paper, then ran it through my Cuttlebug. Doesn't that flower embossing remind you of toilet paper too? Hee hee! 

Tucked some lacey ribbon from my stash behind that layer, stapled the sentiment banner which was hand trimmed, and pop dotted that from the background.  

Oh yes, also distressed some of the edges with my Tim Holtz distress tool, and used a bit of distress ink in Broken China on the outer edges.

Pretty Poppies

I couldn't wait to ink up something from my Unity April KOTM when it arrived, and even though it took me a couple of days to get to it - I'm still excited that I didn't have to wait TOO long! So...this pretty poppy is where I started!

I stamped it on white cardstock, colored with Copics, then inked the edges heavily with Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Linen. 

Layered some papers from Basic Grey's new Konnichiwa 6x6 paper pad together for the card base, inked the edges of each of them with distress ink in Vintage Photo, then added a bit of pretty lace from Ribbon Carousel.  

Attached the flower piece with pop-dots, as well as a small scrap of the orange paper with the sentiment stamped and partly colored with Copics. Finished off with a little button from my stash, with a bit of jute twine tied through it.

Guest Designing at Liz's Paperloft!

Good morning! Today I am guest designing over at Liz's Paperloft! Since it is suddenly getting very close to Mother's Day (how did that happen so quickly?!?!?!) I decided to make a Mother's Day Card! I kept it pretty simple: 

To start off, I used a Spellbinder's Nestabilities, but instead of cutting it, I used a couple of tiny pieces of tape to attach it to my card front, then just ran it through my Cuttlebug with the embossing pads. So instead of cutting, it just got a little deeper emboss on that line. I thought it had a cool framing effect.

I then used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out a Silhouette - there are also several choices for those on the Cricut that I could have used. Attached that to the card, along with a sentiment from My Creative Time Stamps - the very first set I purchased, "Mom You Rock."  

Finished off with some Crinkle Ribbon in a matching red, and a couple of stick on red gems that I got from Michael's recently.
