Life is more beautiful together...

Good morning! I'm posting again this morning as guest designer for Unity Stamp Company this month! I would love if you stop by there and say hi! :)

Today, I'm sharing a card I actually made for my husband, to celebrate our 15th Anniversary! Our anniversary is actually the 25th, this Wednesday, but we took this past weekend to sneak away and celebrate. I love that even after this many years, we love to spend time together - this sentiment was a PERFECT fit for the way I feel about him!

I used the December 2014 SMAK Kit - isn't it lovely? I love that these work equally well for scrapbooking, and for cards!

I stamped the hearts on my background watercolor paper, then lightly washed over them with some watercolors. The sentiment was heat embossed on vellum, then sewed on to attach it. Some wood veneers, enamel dots, ink splatters, and jute twine finish this off.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!!!

I Wheelie Like You!

Hello! I had a bit of fun this morning creating a card for a couple challenges - it actually took me a couple days to get the background to look at least a bit as I was picturing in my head. I think I might have finally gotten pretty close!

I was inspired by the current Runway Inspired Challenge:

And finally, this week's Simon Says Monday Challenge - Lions and Lambs, Oh My! (animals and critters):

I created this background using the "smooshing" technique. I sponged some distress ink on my non-stick mat, misted with water, then "smooshed" my watercolor paper on it. I used the darling Lawn Fawn set Wheelie Like You, with a bit of fussy cutting. I stamped on plain white cardstock, then dipped my water brush into a MFT inkpad for the orange color, and a distress one for the gray/black. Stamped the little hearts with the matching MFT ink, and added a strip of coordinating MFT cardstock. Finished off with a bit of Wink of Stella on the hamster, and the hearts.

Thanks for dropping by! Have a wonderful day!!!

Two cards for Unity FWF

Good morning! I thought I would share a couple of catch up cards this morning for Unity Stamp Company's Friday Friends with Flair - these were both from last year during my term on Splitcoast Stampers Dirty Dozen, using primarily the May 2014 Kit of the Month. On this first one, the "love" word is from an Avery Elle set - and I layered a bunch of random scrap paper together.

The second one was a super clean and simple card - love those fun sunglasses!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!!!

Happy Birthday Cupcake

Good morning! Hopping along with the Unity Design Team today with a card I made using the March Kit of the Month:

I posted a sneak of this on Instagram the other day for part of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge - I only had a few minutes at the end of the day, but wanted to make sure and stay caught up - watercolors are the perfect way to color an image quickly! The next day when it dried, I die cut the scallop panel with a Mama Elephant die, heat embossed the sentiment on some hand trimmed vellum banners, and added some Glossy Accents on a few places on the image. Finished off with a bit of glitter washi tape, a tiny paper clip with some jute twine, and a few Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear sequins (my favorite!).

As always for Thursday hops - make sure and leave a comment for a chance to win this weeks giveaway:

There are also some fabulous sales that will be starting today and running through the weekend:

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!!!

Rose Bushes and Thorns

Good morning! Sharing a card this morning that I absolutely LOVE!!! I just adore the Altenew Vintage Roses, and haven't taken time to use them nearly enough - so yesterday I sat down and took time to just play!

This was yesterday's coloring for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge - and while technically this was just layering stamps and ink, I love the colored effect it gives - way better than I would ever achieve with any other form of coloring!

I also loved the Spring Pinterest Inspiration for this weeks Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - the little baskets in the center right caught my eye - and since purple tends to be a challenging color for me, I went with that:

I was inspired a bit by Yana's video on the Altenew Blog a couple days ago - I had been wanting to use this sentiment from Sentiments and Quotes with the flowers from the Vintage Roses stamp set for quite a while, and her video totally pushed me over the edge to sit down and do it! Used some different colors of MFT ink for everything with coordinating MFT cardstock for the cardbase. The front was cut at an angle and attached with foam adhesive over the sentiment, which was heat embossed with platinum embossing powder - not quite gold or silver, just a soft in between color. Used a little black Heidi Swapp Color shine flicked on the roses, and a few crystal clear Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

Thanks for stopping by today! See you again soon!!!

Watercolor Birthday Critter

Good morning again! Also thought I would drop by and share another quick catch up post from last year! Yet another card I made for Splitcoast Stampers while a member of the Dirty Dozen!

For this card, I created a super simple watercolor wash (interestingly enough, in a stripe pattern - in case you needed a reminder of the current AEI{heart}U Challenge that is going on now! Stripes - it couldn't be easier!) Stamped the adorable little critter from Red & Goldie, then stamped the sentiment from the same set on a vellum speech bubble cut with Paper Smooches Word Bubbles Dies. Tucked a bit of foam adhesive under the top right corner, then covered it up with an enamel dot, and glued the bottom left corner with just a tiny dot of clear glue directly to the card front.

Thanks for stopping by! Smiles!

Happy Birthday Balloons

Good morning! Just dropping by with a card I made a while back and hadn't had a chance to share! This was actually for my older brother, whose birthday happens to be on Valentine's Day! This definitely caused him no end of grief growing up, and I was a good little sister and tormented him lots over it! ;)

I used Mama Elephant's Party Kit to stamp all the balloons in some fun colors of MFT dye ink - I used the heart ones since it was Valentine's Day, but used masculine colors. I used Altenew's Label Love for the sentiment, heat embossed with white on black cardstock, then mounted with foam adhesive. Finished off with a bit of washi tape on the bottom.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!
