Sweet Baby Hedgehog

Good morning! A few days ago I posted a baby card that I said was one of two that had been requested by a friend. Well, today I thought I would stop by and share the other one with you!

I used the adorable little Harrison Hedgehog from Unity Stamps and watercolored him with my Zig Clean Color Brush Tip Pens on a scrap of watercolor paper. The sentiment is from Sweet Elle. Added some random pattern paper from my stash that coordinated, a torn edge, some washi tape strips, and a tiny clothespin with some hemp twine tied on to finish it off.

Entering this in Virginia's View Challenge - All Things Embellished (clothespin, washi tape, and hemp twine!):

Thanks for stopping by this morning - I'll be back later tonight with lots of fun stuff for the Unity Tuesday Inspiration Hop! See you then!

Runway Inspired - Thanks a Bunch

Hello! Back again today with a card for the brand new Runway Inspired challenge! Here is our lovely inspiration:

Here is the card I made using our inspiration for this challenge:

I used some beautiful Crate Paper pattern paper, then some lovely Altenew stamps to create my card. I stamped several images from Persian Motifs on vellum and heat embossed in white, then I took some yellow alcohol ink and colored them from the back. Once that dried, I fussy cut them out. (I only used one color, but I was inspired by THIS amazing card by Virginia Lu) I left them turned over, so you could see the yellow very well, and the white would be muted a little more. I then used Label Love for my sentiment, stamping in black Versamark ink, then heat embossing with clear powder - I sprinkled on clear powder 3 times, once on the ink, then while it was still hot and melted, I added another layer, heated again, and once last layer and heat embossed. This made it super thick and glossy! Finished off with some silver thread tucked behind, then mounted that entire panel on a soft gray SSS cardstock base.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you'll join us and play along - can't wait to see what you make!

Sparkle and Shine - Have a Great Day

Good morning! It's time for a new challenge over at the Sparkle and Shine Challenge Blog - this week we have another inspiration photo challenge, and a prize sponsored by Winnie and Walter! Here is my card for this week:

Here is our inspiration photo - love the fun colors combined with the back to school theme! I decided to use both the color inspiration, as well as make a card that I thought would be a fun card to tuck in a child's lunchbox for the first day of school as well!

I used a some Crate Paper pattern paper to pull out my colors, then the center panel I did with a chalkboard technique using Lil' Inker's Wonky Squares Dies and Greetings and Salutations stamp set. There is also a doily tucked in there, some jute twine, and (of course!) some Pretty Pink Posh sequins as well!

Our amazing sponsor this time around is Winnie & Walter. The winner will receive:

I hope you will join in and play along! Looking forward to seeing your creations! Thanks for stopping by - have a wonderful day!!!

Forever Your Pumpkin - New Unity Release - with Quick Tip Video

Good morning again! Back with still another card - and Quick Tip video - using another cute stamp from the newest Unity Stamp company release! Love this sweet image - so cute and perfect for the upcoming fall season - I don't know about you, but I am SOOO ready for the cozy fall days to show up at my door!

This is a SUPER simple and quick video - I am by no means an expert, but thought I would share a quick and easy way to add "grounding" under your stamped and colored images:

I layered some MME pattern papers in wonky layers underneath the image, then wrapped some jute twine around the card and tied in a bow before attaching the front panel with foam adhesive.

Here is the cutie I used on this card - Marigold Whimsy:

Avocado Arts - This & That

Good morning! I'm up on the Avocado Arts blog this morning to share some projects with the new stamp set for August - appropriately named This & That - check out the fun little mix of images and sentiments on this set!

I started off with that cute tricycle image - colored it in black and white - I love how it almost looks like a page from a newspaper or comic book!

I also inked the stamp once, but stamped it off 3 times to add the feeling of movement. Added Crate Paper pattern paper, a bit of distress inking on the edges and a black drawn outline - and finished with a bit of jute twine!

Next up - I played with those musical notes and a bit of ink smooshing:

I stamped the musical notes 3 times, with the sentiment set in the middle on watercolor paper. Next, I laid a piece of acetate over the top, swiped 3 different colors of dye ink across, misted with water, then turned over and "smooshed" over the inked images. Easy peasy! Added some Lawn Fawn pattern paper and some washi tape to finish it off!

Finally - those flamingos! Flamingos have been a fun trend as of late, so I had to play with them a bit!

I masked off the bottom portion, and just stamped the flamingos in varying levels on some white cardstock that I had torn the edges on. Stamped the sentiment in pink, added some ink splatters, then layered over some Basic Grey pattern paper with a bit of washi tucked underneath, and a bow of jute twine to finish it off.

Thanks so much for dropping by today! Have a great day!

Life is Beautiful - New Angie Girl with Quick Tip Video

Good morning! I hope you had a chance to join in the fun on the Unity Stamp New Release Event on Facebook - if you didn't, there are still some games and challenges and chances to win, so check it out HERE.

I'm back sharing another card with the new release today - along with another Quick Tip Video on tying twine bows with buttons. I'm pretty sure my two favorite seasons are spring and fall, which means right now my favorite is fall because it is closer! So this Angie Girl is one I totally love right now!

Here is the video (and if you find the oopsie in it, make sure and head over to the Facebook page and leave a comment on it there - it's one of the games and chances to win some prizes!):

I used some MME pattern paper and a doily for the background. Did some distress inking around the edges to soften things down a bit as well.

Here is the new stamp I used - Maple Girl - so beautiful!!!
