Good morning! I'm delighted today to be part of the HUGE blog hop celebrating the BRAND NEW Simon Says Stamp release called New Beginnings! Tons of inspiration with the new release, and a giveaway at every stop as well!
I'm sharing a trio of Easter cards using one of my favorite stamp sets from the new release! Beautiful layers - and while I made Easter cards, these images would work beautifully with sympathy cards as well!
I started off by die cutting some Stitched Ovals, then stamped the cross layers from Happy Easter on them using coordinating shades of ink in a lighter and darker shade. I stamped the smaller sentiment directly over the crosses - and was very grateful that they were easy to see and read still. I then added the sentiment underneath, and a tiny heart from the set on the tail of the sentiment to pull them together.
Once I had those created, I wanted to create a pretty background for them - and since I made these before choosing pattern paper, I was having a hard time finding anything that fit like I wanted. So - I decided to make my own! I pulled out my SSS Gingham Background stamp from a previous release, and stamped it in white pigment ink on kraft cardstock. It was the perfect soft backdrop I was looking for!
Next, I used Scallop Stitches dies to cut a border for the bottom of the card, and mounted the ovals with foam adhesive on the card base.
A sprinkle of coordinating Pretty Pink Posh sequins as embellishments finish these off!
Once again, I find that I love making a set of several cards when I'm putting one together. Partly because I've already done the work of picking a layout and embellishments, and partly because I have a hard time choosing which color I want to use - and this allows me to use several! Besides, they look so pretty stacked together, don't you think? :)
I also have this card made with the new release that I shared yesterday - you can read the details on it HERE:
