Cricut 360 - Challenge #10 - Grandparents

Hello! It's Friday and time for another Cricut 360 Challenge! Make sure and head on over to see who the winner for the week and the top three picks are - it might be you!!!

Since it is September (already!), and Grandparents Day (September 11th) is just around the corner, the challenge this week is to make a card, layout, or project inspired by or in honor of our grandparents. Here is what I came up with:

I used the brand new Cricut Circle Exclusive cartridge - Sophie. The layers and flowers on this cartridge are gorgeous - and it has a doily feature that I am in LOVE with! I also used A Child's Year for the tag shape.

The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Co.'s May 2011 KOTM.

I pop-dotted everything from the background, and did lots of inking on each piece.

Finished off with some doodling around the edges, and some ribbon threaded through the sentiment tag.

Thanks for visiting - now go link up your creations! I can't wait to see what you come up with this week!

Unity FWF - Looking Good!

Good morning! Happy Friday...which means it's time for another Friends with Flair over at Unity Stamp Co's blog! Make sure and go check out the rest of the fun, leave some comments, and link up for your chance to win some free stamps!

Here is my card for the week:

I used the brand new Sophie cartridge (Circle Exclusive) to cut the frame shape - it is one of the cuts on the doily feature - LOVE that part of the cartridge! I stamped the image in the middle from Unity Stamp Co.'s March 2011 KOTM. The sentiment is from the April KOTM. I colored her shirt with one of my copic markers, and pop-dotted the whole thing from the background.

Added some inking, some doodling, some bling with my Jolee's heat set tool, and finished off with some Baker's Twine and a button.

So...what are you waiting for? Go check out the Unity Blog!!!

Unity Stamp Co - naming party! (And my suggestion is one of the choices!!!!!)

Have you seen what is going on over on the Unity Stamp Co Facebook Page? To celebrate 10,000 "likes" on their page, they have put together a kit by allowing fans to vote on their favorites. Isn't it fabulous???

Now the fun part is that the naming is happening now! Everyone submitted names, and they picked their 3 favorites. One of the names they like was MINE!!! I'm so excited!!! So...whichever of the three names gets the most likes will get bragging rights for naming the new kit!!! Click HERE to go put your vote in - and you don't have to vote for mine either! I just want you to have the chance to join in the fun!!! Can't wait to see how it turns out!!!

Put on your party dress!

Hello! I have a card today that I made for the Birthday Sundae's inspiration photo! Here is the card I made:

And here is the photo for the inspiration:

You can probably tell that I was especially inspired by the colors! Such a pretty combination of colors! I stamped the dress from Unity Stamps and paper pieced it. The sentiment is also from Unity Stamps. I distressed the edges of the white piece, rounded the corners, and inked the edges. The doily is distressed with Tim Holtz distress ink, then darker ink on the very edges. Added some Baker's Twine, and a bit more inking to the edge of the card to finish it off.

Have a great day!

If friends were flowers...I'd pick you!

Hello! I almost didn't make it, but really wanted to enter this weeks Scrappy Mom's Terrific Tuesday Challenge - to use Straight from the Nest. I also added some faux stitching around the edges, which makes it qualify for the Sew Much Fun challenge over at My Craft Spot. Here is the card I made:

I used (of course!) Straight from the Nest, and my Scrappy Mom's stamps for the sentiment. I love this quote!!!

The flowers are the border feature on this cartridge, and I inked the edges, added a rhinestone center, and pop-dotted them from the card.

Inked the edges of the card, rounded two of the corners, and added a Baker's Twine bow to finish it off!

Moxie Fab Horizontal Sketch - Owl-trageous!!!

Here is my card:

And here is the sketch:

Here is a close up of the windows where the owls are peaking through:

I used my Cricut and Plantin Schoolbook to cut the front panel with the windows, then stamped and paperpieced the owls from Unity Stamps behind the windows.

The sentiment is also from Unity Stamp Co., and I added some coordinating bling with my Jolee's heat set tool as well.

Thanks again for visiting!

One more for the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger

Eek! I was going to post this tomorrow, but happened to look tonight, and realized that tonight is the deadline for turning this in! So...here I am!

Here is the inspiration photo:

I had made another entry for this, but this paper inspired me to try another one. I actually one this set from Basic Grey called Out of Print - and had to go buy the 6x6 pad for making cards! Isn't it yummy?!?!?!?!

The stamp is from Unity Stamp Co., and the border is cut with a Martha Stewart edge punch. I added some doodling around the edges, some buttons and jute cord, a bit of ribbon, and the pom-poms on a wire which are by Martha Stewart as well.

Thanks for visiting!
