Peachy Keen New Release stamps!!!

Good morning! Don't know if you happened to make it to the release party last night (I missed it because of an a paper we had to get signed and notarized at the bank in order to sell our home!) - but Peachy Keen Stamps has release some new ADORABLENESS!!! I made this for one of the challenges over on the Peachy Keen Connection - you can find it HERE. You have all weekend to play along - and there are some great prizes too! 

And here is a look at all the new stamps! Each month I keep thinking it is the BEST one yet - and I am always amazed! Aren't these SOOOO fun?!?!?!?

PKSC-07 July 2012 Kit of the Month

PK-123 Darren and Laura Lee - $10.95

 I used some Echo Park This and That Charming 6x6 papers and paper pieced the cute sun.

I then used used my Cricut and Plantin Schoolbook to cut the oval window out of one of the more solid papers from the paper pad, ran it through my Cuttlebug using a PTI impression plate in wood grain, and added a bit of Tim Holtz distress ink on the edges, and super lightly over the top of the woodgrain.

Tucked some burlap underneath, and attached the window frame with foam adhesive. 

I hand trimmed the banners, stamped the sentiments, and attached toothpicks to make my own little flags. Used some green seam binding ribbon from My Craft Spot, then added some jute twine, an October Afternoon button, and a tiny stick on pearl. 

And then...just because it seemed to need something, I made a couple of little banners using some Washi Tape that I have been playing with a bit lately, and glued those down.

MFT Getting Sketchy with Pure Innocence

Got another card using My Favorite Things Pure Innocence stamps that I wanted to share - this one is for the Sketch Challenge. Here is my take:

I used Basic Grey's Picadilly Collection again (LOVE it) and paper pieced my image. Used Copics for the hair and skin. 

The edge on the bottom of the image is cut with a Martha Stewart border punch, and the edges of everything are inked with Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Linen and/or Vintage Photo. I also pop-dotted the image piece from the background for some dimension. 

The cute little heart was cut on my Cricut using Plantin Schoolbook, inked, and covered with Diamond Glaze. Also added some PTI buttons to the bottom and some faux stitching around the edges. 

And when I was all done, it needed something more, so I stamped some hearts using the Peachy Keen Valentine Cupids set that I won recently - and colored them in with white gel pen.

I think my favorite card of all time!

Good morning! I made this card for the January My Favorite Things Guest Designer Contest over at Splitcoast Stampers to use paper-piecing - and can I just say, that I think this is my favorite card I have EVER made?!?!? I LOVE the Pure Innocence line of stamps - ADORE the Picadilly collection of paper from Basic Grey - and SOOO enjoy paper piecing with stamps! Here it is:

The background frame is cut on my Cricut using Elegant Edges, then Plantin Schoolbook for the center oval. I used LOTS of different papers to do the piecing with, then my Copics for the face, arms, legs, hair, and tiny heart flip in the hair. Used a white gel pen to color in the sprinkles on the cupcake.

When I did my piecing, I did a couple extra layers for the sleeve - so it looks like it is popped out from the rest of her dress. Not sure if you can see it in the pictures or not.  

All the edges are inked with Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Linen, and Vintage Photo for the base piece of cardstock. Finished off with a bit of Papertrey Ink Twine and one of their buttons, and pop-dotted the framed image off the background for a little extra dimension.

Moxie Fab Horizontal Sketch - Owl-trageous!!!

Hello! I have a card this morning that I made for the Moxie Fab horizontal sketch challenge for Card ideas week. Also entering it in the Simply Sunday Challenge over at Getting Cricky with K Andrews - Winged Things, and the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge - to add a splash of yellow!

I used my Cricut and Plantin Schoolbook to cut the front panel with the windows, then stamped and paperpieced the owls from Unity Stamps behind the windows.

The sentiment is also from Unity Stamp Co., and I added some coordinating bling with my Jolee's heat set tool as well.

Mojo Monday Sketch challenge - My Heart Sings!

I used to really struggle with sketch challenges - for some reason it was just hard for me. I don't know if I tried too hard to exactly follow the sketch, and just felt really hemmed in by them or what. But now, I LOVE doing sketches! I feel like it gets me out of my rut, and inspires me rather than limits me! So I was excited to try this weeks Mojo Monday sketch:

Here is my take on it:

I used Elegant edges for the frame cut-out, and for the border edges, which I welded with my Gypsy onto a rectangle from Plantin Schoolbook. The circle in the very middle of the frame is also from Plantin Schoolbook. I stamped part of an image from the Unity May KOTM onto that circle. Added some different pattern paper to cover the rectangle that my borders were welded too, and a little extra strip - just because the colors matched and it made me happy! Added some machine stitching around the edges, and a bow with some Baker's Twine, jute cord, and a button from my stash.

I also used a My Minds Eye 6x6 paper stack - I LOVE those for cardmaking! Somehow it is a lot easier to cut into a small piece of paper, and it makes coordinating papers together a snap!

3 Challenges - 1 Card!!!

I had 3 different challenges on my list that I wanted to get to, and due to busy schedule at the moment, I was able to combine them all into ONE!!! It was a challenge, and took a bit of a stretch to accomplish it - but I really like the results.

The first challenge was the Cricut Circle weekly challenge, which had to include at least 3 cuts from the Cricut, but they all had to be from the cartridges that came with your Cricut or Gypsy. So, the flower border and sentiment both came from Gypsy Wanderings, as well as the two rounded corner rectangles. The butterfly was built out of 2 hearts, an oval, some circles, and some little squiggles all welded and shaped on my Gypsy, and all from Plantin Schoolbook - a cartridge I don't use nearly as often as I should.

The next challenge was the Peachy Keen sketch challenge with a twist - the twist was to use a monochromatic color scheme. I have been struggling with that one since I saw it - cause that one is HARD for me!

The third and final challenge was a Love Bug challenge at Double Click Connections. And for that, obviously, the butterfly!

I also ran the bottom rectangle through the Cuttlebug, added some bling, a bit of black inking, some doodling and faux stitching, and pop dotted the butterfly, flower border, and sentiment. Almost forgot - also used a Peachy Keen face for the butterfly, and added a little bow with some Baker's Twine!!!
