Growing in Unity Winner

New Peachy Keen Challenge - it's a sketch challenge!

Hello! It time for another Friday challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps! This week we have a super fun sketch for you to try out! Here is what I made this week:

I haven't used that cloud background stamp nearly enough, so I started with that.

Stamped the rainbow and cloud, colored with Copics, then fussy cut them out. Added a small layer of stickles over the rainbow for some sparkle, and a bit around the edges of the cloud - and of course stamped a cute face!

When I stuck the rainbow down, I put foam adhesive under the cloud and that side of the rainbow, but not the other side. I wanted it to look as if the rainbow was coming off the card at you!

Added some ribbon from cotton twill Ribbon Carousel for the banners, and the sentiment with a rainbow of bling attached with my Jolee's heat set tool. 

I couldn't believe how difficult it was to get a good picture of this with the glitter. In the last picture, it looks like the rainbow is curled all over the place, and I promise it really isn't in real life!!!

Growing in Unity - Day 5 - A Thing of Beauty

Sigh...hard to believe that today is the end of my Growing in Unity week - but it has been so much fun! Thanks to all who joined me in this adventure this week! Remember to leave a comment today as well, as I will be drawing a winner sometime tomorrow to choose 2 Itty Bitty stamps! Here is what I made for my final day:

I started off by making the background. I used the Tea Time Pattern Background stamp, clear embossing ink, and stamped on white paper. I then applied Tim Holtz distress ink in Spun Sugar over the top of it - so it colored the paper, and not the area I had embossed. 

I then cut a shape with my Spellbinders Nestabilities, and did the same thing with the boot from the Brave Girl Boots Kit, and distress ink in the color called Old Paper. I left the die on the paper until after I finished inking, so the edge stayed white. 

After that, I stamped the sentiment from the Itty Bitty, A Thing of Beauty, using distress ink in Victorian Velvet.  

I matted the pink embossed paper on white cardstock, then on a Papertrey Ink Cardstock base. 

Layered some burlap on top of those layers...then used some lace and pink chevron ribbon from Ribbon Carousel on top of that. 

Finished off by mounting the boot panel on top, using foam adhesive at the top and bottom.

Happy Father's Day Card

Alrighty! So, before the week gets away from me, I also wanted to share a card that I made a couple of weeks ago for Father's Day using some more goodies from My Creative Time!

I just LOVE her fun dies and cute matching stamps and sentiments! I used the set Here's Lookin' at You for the hat, face, and sentiment on this one. 

The background plaid paper is from October Afternoons Sasparilla 8x8 paper pad, and the yellow and blue are some random Authentique papers. 

I embossed kraft paper with a herringbone pattern for the background. 

Wrapped some black jute twine from Ribbon Carousel around the main panel, used an edge punch along the bottom, and inked the edges of everything with Tim Holtz distress ink. 

Finished off by adding some random doodling and faux stitching, and pop-dotting the center panel from the background.

My Creative Time Graduation Card

I just realized this morning that it was starting to get a little late to even share a graduation card, and even though I made this a week or two ago, I had never posted it! So...here it is!

I used some of the goodies that I won from Emma at my Creative Time from her last release - perfect timing I say! I love the stitching details on Emma's dies! 

I used some October Afternoon paper from the Sasparilla 6x6 paper pad, and cut one of the tag dies to place the die cut graduation hat on. I cut it twice so I could make the tassel a different color, and just trimmed that part off and glued it on.  

I inked the edges of all the pattern paper with Tim Holtz distress ink. 

Used a tiny piece of crinkle ribbon on the top part of the tag. 

And the sentiment came from the same set that the grad hat came from, Here's Lookin' at You. 

Whew! Now I have another Father's Day card I need to post before it is actually Father's Day!

Growing in Unity - Day 4 - Peace and Comfort

Hello again! Can't believe how fast this week is going! It is Day 4 of my Growing in Unity post. I just barely got this card done...yesterday was CRAZY! I made something else, but wasn't happy with it - so fortunately was able to sit down and get this made!

I started off with my Spellbinders Nestabilities to cut the scallop rectangle, then inked it with some Tim Holtz distress ink in two colors.

After that, I stamped the flowers using the Insightful Meadows set in black ink. 

Took that and mounted it with foam adhesive on the pattern papers layers - which are all from Basic Grey's PB&J 6x6 paper pad, each layer matted in white.

Finished off by using some lace, and the blue jute twine - both from Ribbon Carousel - and a button from Papertrey Ink. 

The sentiment with is from one of the small sentiment sets {...heartfelt sympathy...} - I think it is such a perfect sentiment for both a sympathy card, but also could fit for a card of encouragement, or for a get well card.
