Stamped Lace Card

Okay - I know I used it for one other card, but I just have to say, isn't this stamp from the Unity December Kit of the Month amazing?!?!?! I LOVE how intricate it is - and it is a perfect image to emboss! 

I made this card for a challenge I happened upon at KandRdesigns called the 100 Weeks of Inspiration Challenge. The challenge was to look through her Pinterest Inspiration board and pick a card to case. (You can see the one I picked HERE) I loved the colors, and some of the general layout themes, rounded corners, etc...

I started off with some Bazzil Cardstock - which is the blue. I stamped the lace three times and heat embossed it, then the sentiment which is one I got in a random set. I also heat embossed it. 

Here is a close up of that lace - cool, huh? 

I tied a bow with some white twill ribbon, then added a couple of heart stick pins.

Finished off with a couple of rounded corners, a bit of bling, and attached it with foam adhesive to the card base.

Peachy Keen Bear Pillow Box

Hello! I'm SOOOO glad I checked the details again for the challenge over at Peachy Keen this week - because I sat down to start a card, and it is supposed to be a 3-D item with a Bear! Fortunately I saw it in time, so I made this instead:

This was definitely something new for me - but I had SOOO much fun with it! I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the box and the bear, using a cut file from the Silhouette Store.  

I used some older Basic Grey Papers - can't remember where they are from, but thought they were perfect for this! 

Added a cute Peachy Face from the Wide Eyed Critters Assortment, and some detail with my Copic Markers and white gel pen. 

I stamped the sentiment from My Creative Time on some cardstock that I just trimmed by hand.

Tucked a doily behind the bear, wrapped around some jute twine, punched a hole in my tag, and attached it with the jute twine, tying a bow and adding an October Afternoon button.

A CAS "Long and Short" Valentine card

Hello! I have still been LOVING my Crate Paper 6x6 Fourteen paper pad from Shop Pumpkin Spice! The colors are just so yummy! Anyway - I decided to make a card for this weeks CAS-ual Friday's Challenge:

The challenge this week was to make a Clean and Simple Card having one long side, and one short side.

I couldn't resist using pattern paper - but hopefully my design still counts as clean and simple? I didn't use too many embellishments!

I started off by scoring and folding a 6x6 piece of pattern paper in half to make my cardbase - which means my card is 3x6. 

I cut a white rectangle, embossed it with my Cuttlebug, and inked the edges with distress ink. Next, I punched a couple of hearts with a Fiskars paper punch, trimmed some white cardstock on which I stamped a sentiment from Unity Stamp Company in PTI ink. I also used distress ink on the edges of that.

Layered it all together with a bit of foam ahesive, and added a couple wraps of jute twine, tied in a bow with an October Afternoon Button to finish it off.

Shop Pumpkin Spice Inspiration - Tiny Valentine Cards

For some reason, I was really inspired recently with making itty bitty cards! So here are a couple more that I made - they are 3x3 inches square. SOOOO cute and tiny! I think I'm going to sneak them to my girls sometime...if we didn't home school I would sneak them in a lunchbox...so I might have to just hide them somewhere else!

I used some of my favorite stamps from Shop Pumpkin Spice - Paper Smooches! They are just so cute and versatile. The set I used is We Connect. Full of sweet sentiments to mix and match!

My pattern papers are from Crate Paper's 6x6 Fourteen paper pad - they are BEAUTIFUL for Valentine's Day, and so much more! 

I used a Spellbinders Die to cut my shaped card, by folding a piece of cardstock in half, then positioning the die so that it is not covering the fold. I ran it through twice to make sure it cut both layers, which worked perfectly to emboss the front layer too! 

I punched the heart out using a paper punch I had in my stash, inked the edges, then covered it with Glossy Accents after attaching it with foam adhesive. Finished off with a bit of Baker's Twine to tie a sweet bow along the top.

Feathers - Color and Background Challenge

Hello! I'm coming in at the last minute again - because I once again forgot that the color challenge for the Playdate Cafe ends today! Someday I will be more on top of it and keep better track of it! Anyway - I also made this for the Make Your Own Background Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. Here is my card:

For some reason, looking at these colors made me think of feathers - and I had been wanting to play with my feather stamps from my November Unity KOTM. I also used a lacy background from the December KOTM on my background. 

I used a few different PTI ink colors, randomly stamped the feathers in two colors, and then stamped the lace background over the top. 

I added a lacy circle cut with a Spellbinder's Die, then layered over some feathers that I cut with my Silhouette Cameo with a file from the Silhouette online store. I used coordinating glitter paper for the feathers!

I hand trimmed a banner, and stamped a sentiment from the October KOTM, using the same three colors of PTI ink so that it blended in. I attached the feathers with foam adhesive, then used foam adhesive to attach the sentiment banner of over the top.

Used some jute twine to tie a bow around the bottom of the feathers, and added a little random bling. 

Finished off by matting it in kraft cardstock before attaching it to a white cardbase.

Ahhh...I love the feather trend! So pretty and fun! What about you - is that one that you are enjoying?

My Craft Spot Challenge - Glitter and Bling

Good Monday morning! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I know mine went incredibly fast! But, since it is Monday, it is time for a new challenge over at My Craft Spot! This week we are breaking out the glitter and bling! Here is what I made to share this week:

This card ended up just so unbelievably girly! It makes me happy! I started off with some beautiful Crate Paper from the Pretty Party 6x6 paper pad. I used some for my background, then punched some butterflies out of the scraps using a Martha Stewart punch.

I inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink in Vintage Photo, covered them with Glossy Accents, then sprinkled with Martha Stewart coarse glitter.

I used the these Lacey Banner Metal Dies:

Also cutting out of the same paper pad. I stamped a sentiment from Butterfly Kisses:

I also inked the edges of the banner, added some glitter to the yellow layer, and the sentiment is stamped with PTI ink. I punched a hole in the top center of the banner to attach it with some jute twine. 

I machine stitched around the outer edges of the paper, added a doily, then glued down just the center of the butterflies, and curled up the wings once they dried.

I used Vanilla Bean Crinkle Ribbon, and Natural Jute Twine for my bow, and finished off with a bit of self-adhesive bling here and there.

Another Chalkboard Card - 10th Birthday

Happy Sunday afternoon! I got home today and was feeling a little cold - so I thought it was a perfect opportunity to sit in the sunshine that happened to be shining in my crafty area and have some fun! I had been thinking about the Paper Crafts January Gallery Challenge - to make a card celebrating milestone birthdays. Since my daughter will be turning 10 this year (YIKES! Double digits already!) I decided to make a 10th birthday card - using one of my favorite techniques, the chalkboard effect. Here is what I came up with:

I used a Spellbinder's Die to cut a frame shape with some green DCWV Chalkboard paper. I stamped several different parts of the Papertrey Ink Movers and Shakers Sentiments on it, and heat embossed with white powder.  

Added some smudges with white pigment ink, then re-stamped each part of the images again slightly offset with the white pigment ink for a shadow effect.  

Added some doodles with a white colored pencil to finish that part off. 

My pattern papers are from Crate Paper's 6x6 Pretty Party paper pad (which you can still find HERE at Shop Pumpkin Spice for a great price too). I rounded the top corners, and inked the edges of it all with Tim Holtz distress ink.  

Tucked a doily and some green jute twine (available HERE at My Craft Spot) behind the frame which I mounted on foam adhesive. Tied the jute twine in a bow, added another strip of pattern paper from the same paper pad, and a piece of lace trim.
