My Craft Spot - Hot Summer Colors Challenge!

I hope everyone is able to enjoy summer wherever they are - and that it isn't too hot! But, it is perfect timing to celebrate summer, and the new challenge over at My Craft Spot is Hot Summer Colors!!! I hope you'll come join the fun with us! Here is my project:
I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the scallop frame, and the popsicles. The cut file for the popsicles is from Echo Park, and can be found in the Silhouette store (click HERE to view it if you're interested). I don't remember what cut file I used for the scallop background...sorry about that!
All the pattern paper is from Echo Park - the yellow, pink, and blue is from the Dots and Stripes Fountain 6x6 paper pad, and the striped background is from an older 6x6 paper pad, Summer Days.
I used kraft paper to cut the popsicle sticks - isn't it perfect for that?
I then used three different kinds of twine to get the colors I wanted: Divine Twine in Lemon Divine, Trendy Twine in Strawberry Cupcake, and Twinery Twine in Caribbean. I tied on some cute tags that were stamped using the Tiny Tags stamp set from My Craft Spot. Here is a close up of each tag:

I wrapped some hand dyed crinkle ribbon from My Craft Spot in Sunshine Yellow, Hot Pink, and Caribbean to wrap around the background pattern paper.
I then attached the popsicles with foam adhesive, and then attached the scallop frame to the card base with foam adhesive.
Well, that's it! Sorry for so many pictures! Hope to see you join in the fun with us this week! Head over to My Craft Spot to check out all the details - as well as the prize up for grabs this week!

My Craft Spot Challenge - King of the Grill (Honoring our Dads)

If you are looking for my Growing in Unity Post - click HERE - or just scroll down to the last post!

Good morning! It's Monday, which means its time for a new challenge at My Craft Spot! The challenge is King of the Grill - any card to honor Dad - and it's my week to share some inspiration with you! Here is what I created:
I actually had something entirely different planned using my Cricut, and layed out and ready, but my Gypsy decided to stop working on me right before I could cut it! So sad! So, I pulled out my Silhouette machine instead to make this! I used a file from the Sihouette Store (click HERE for the link to the file) - and re-sized the center a little to fit what I wanted.
I used some papers from Authentique - love the Americana flavor they have - and added a Peachy Keen face using the Wide Eyed Kids Face Assortment.
The bow is made with Airmail Divine Twine from my Crafts Sot, and I used it to hand the sentiments from Tiny Tag Greetings. One fun trick I have learned with tags - after attaching them with the twine, I added one small piece of foam adhesive to the back. It keeps them in place, but leaves them 3 dimensional!
Added a PTI button to the center of the bow - then pop-dotted the entire award from the background for a bit of dimension.
Also inked all the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink.
So glad you stopped by today!!! Make sure and head over to My Craft Spot to link up your own creations for a chance to win this weeks prize! Looking forward to seeing your creations!
