A wedding card, and some EXCITING news!!!

Good morning! I have some EXCITING news that I have been waiting to announce, but first, I wanted to share a card that I actually  made a couple of weeks ago. A good friend asked me to make her a wedding card for a friend, using the colors pink, black, and white, and some kind of a funky and fun cake. So...here is what I came up with:

I used a cake from Sweet Treats, skewed it a bit on my Gypsy so it tilted to the right, and put it on a cake stand from Straight from the Nest. The frame is from Elegant Edges, and the edge punch is a Martha Stewart border punch. Sentiment was a random one from my stash...not sure who it is by. I had a REALLY hard time making the picture show the right color, but it really is a pretty and bright pink!

So...now for my exciting news!!! I actually have a bunch of exciting things coming up in October - can hardly wait!!! First, I have been keeping it under my hat, but am now free to share, that I was asked to be a guest designer for Scrappy Moms Stamps for the month of October!!!

I also have my guest design week for Peachy Keen Stamps during the week of October 17- 21! And I know I will have a giveway that week also!!!

And finally...October 20th is my 1 year Blogaversary!!! I have had so much fun over this past year and enjoying this journey and all the new friends I have met!!! So I have been collecting a BUNCH of my favorite things to giveaway to celebrate that! You'll have to wait until then to see everything, but I already have a Cricut cartridge, some Peachy Keen Stamps, some Unity Stamps, some paper pads...really a bunch of my favorite things that I use all time and want to share with you!!! So...now you know to be ready for that! I will probably do it the weekend or week after my Peachy Keen guest design week, just because it might get a little crazy otherwise!!!

Enjoy your day today - I might be a little absent in the next day or two, as my husband is having a little minor day surgery today, and will be home the rest of the week! Praying that everything goes well and he heals quickly though! Bye for now!!!

Ugly Card Challenge...

This morning I saw a Worst or Ugly Card Fun Challenge over at Scrappin 3rdeeschik, and immediately thought of this card! I don't know why, but I really NEVER liked this card, so I never posted it...but this seemed like a good chance to share one of my less favorite cards!

I know the flowers came from Sweet Treats with Peachy Faces on them. The sentiment is from Unity Stamps, and the edge punch is a Martha Stewart one. The stamps were some random ones from my stash, and I did a little doodling.

Another Mama said...

Quick post this morning...since my internet was on the fritz from yesterday late afternoon until I spent an hour and fifteen minutes on HOLD trying to solve the problem! To add insult to injury, I figured out the problem myself...after they finally answered the phone and I wasted all that time on hold! Oh well - at least it is back!!!

Still TOTALLY love this stamp from Unity Stamp's March KOTM - and today, it kind of fits!!! Stamped the image and sentiment, added some faux stitching, ran the yellow background through the Cuttlebug, and inked the edges. Also cut a flower from Sweet Treats cartridge, glittered it and added a circle of paper and stick on pearls for a center. Finished with a bit of Baker's Twine along the side.

Glitter and a Unity Bird!

Okay...I think that I am REALLY in love with this card!!! I also was rather tickled to have time to work on a card! I finally learned the right technique to put glitter on my Cricut cuts - so look out! I am pretty sure I will be doing it a LOT in the future!!!

For this card, I cut the same flower out 6 different times from the Sweet Treats cartridge in varying sizes. Topped them with Glossy Accents and added my glitter. Let them dry, layered them together, added some Baker's Twine for the center, and a little pearl. Added a stamp, and sentiment, from Unity Stamps, some inking, and some corners from my Fiskars corner punch with a bit more Glossy Accents on them.

Hope you're having a great weekend! Thanks for looking!

Birthday Wishes!

I just noticed before this post that I am up to 100 followers!!! Thanks to each and every one of you!!! Still can't believe it...

Anyway, I love how this card came out! I had some scraps of 3 colors of paper that I loved together and had set aside until I could think of something to make with them - when it hit me! Three scoops of ice cream! So I broke out my Sweet Treats cartridge, added some Peachy Keen faces (used the Everyday Character Face Parts and MORE), some inking, doodling, ribbon, buttons, and a stamped sentiment from my stash. Also went a little crazy with the pop-dotting, as the shadow is raised from the background, AND the ice cream cone is raised from the shadow! The second picture shows that a little better...

As always, thanks for looking, and have a GREAT day!!!
