Unity FWF - Sending Some Happy!!!

For some reason, I have been holding onto this card and not sharing it! Don't know why, except that I am just SOOO happy with how it came out, that I was just holding it close for a while! But...it is now time to share it! I used the October 2010 KOTM for the cloud background, heat embossed it with white embossing powder on blue cardstock, and matted it in black. Added some black and white Baker's Twine, then stamped the hot air balloon on patterned paper, heat embossed it in black, cut it out, and pop-dotted it from the back ground. Added the sentiment from the May 2010 KOTM - it just fit so perfectly! Patches of Pink Design Team - Father's Day Frog!

As I was flipping through handbooks a couple days ago, I came across this cute little froggy, and INSTANTLY thought of Emma's cute little sentiment on her You're my Best Buddy set of stamps! He looks like he wants a great big hug!!! And Jalisa over at Patches of Pink had asked us to do a Father's Day Project, so this was perfect! Click HERE to go join this weeks link up party and link up your own creations!!! Jalisa said she *might* even pick another member for her Design Team!!!

The frog and his layers were all cut from Paisley and I put him on an Action Wobble. The banner cut came from Blackletter - a cartridge I really don't use that much I realize! The sentiment, and the #1 Dad on the frog are from Emma's at My Creative Time's stamps. Added black inking - actually went a "little" crazy on that...but it's hard to get around those small edges!

I am also entering this in the current Throwback Thursday Challenge over at My Creative Time. The challenge is to use an older cartridge, and incorporate the colors green and yellow somewhere on your project. Well, the frog and his little crown fit that just perfect!

Exciting morning...and some CHOCOLATE!!!

So...I got up this morning, and while doing my usual morning check of the Cricut Circle blog, I saw that they had listed the winners of the May montly challenge. I proceeded to read right past my own name, before doing a double take, and realizing THAT was MY name!!! Yep...I won a new Cricut Expression 2 Anniversary Edition!!!!!!! I don't think I have enough exclamation marks to say how excited I am!!!! I really wanted one of these, but since my E is working fine, there was absolutely NO way I could justify forking out the money for a new machine! I would have just felt too guilty and wasteful! However...I certainly won't complain about winning!!! Especially since my birthday was in May - what a GREAT gift!!!

Then, as I did my normal blog hopping, I noticed that my little sheep card that I entered into the All Things Unity challenge, was picked as one of the featured players for the challenge! One more little treat for the morning!

So...I came across one of the chocolate kits that I made and somehow missed posting on here around Mother's Day - so since this morning was full of treats, what better to add to it than CHOCOLATE, right? For this particular kit, the lettering came from Nursery Rhymes font, and the rest of the cuts are from Lacey Labels. I used lots of ink and Martha Stewart glitter, and a bit of ribbon and doodling. Hope you all have a special day full of fun surprises!!! (Maybe even chocolate!!!)



Wedding Card

Last week, I remembered at the last minute that I hadn't made a wedding card for a friend whose wedding we were attending! So...I pulled out their invitation as inspiration, and this is what I came up with. Sorry - I meant to take a pic of the invitation so you could see it, but I can't find it right now! The colors were black, white, and hot pink.

I had a really hard time making the colors show up correctly in the pictures, so this is the best I could get! The background is black, and I ran it through my Cuttlebug. The pink frame is cut from Elegant edges, and the bride and groom are actually Cinderella and her Prince cut from Disney Happily Ever After cartridge, using the Gypsy to hide all but the outline. The sentiment is from a stamp set by 40:31 Creations, and I finished off with some Baker's Twine and some doodling with my white gel pen.



Inspiration Challenge - Built a House!

First off, I want to say that this card is very special to me! This past month, I sold enough cards to build my first house for a widow in Burundi!!! Yep...$600...and a women and her children if she has any, have a roof over their heads, dignity restored, and living proof that because of the Lord, a miracle can happen! So, I wanted to make a card to enclose the check I will be mailing to Sister Connection.

Over on the Cricut Circle blog, they are having a challenge to use something from the Circle Magazine as inspiration, and make it your own. As soon as I saw all the little house projects, I knew JUST what I wanted to do - especially since I had this card to make! So...this card in particular jumped out at me. Here is the photo of the card from the Circle Magazine:

And here is my take on it! I used a LOT of cartridges on this one! The house came from Kate's ABC's, and the hills were from Country Life. The grass is cut from Zooballoo. The sunshine is from Give a Hoot, and is actually one of the flower icons, but it looked like it would make such a cute sun that I had to give it a try! The clouds are cut from Pooh and Friends. I did some more machine stitching, a bit of doodling, and finished off with a stamped sentiment from my stash.

 



Hoppy Birthday!

Good morning! Today I have a card for Peachy Keen's LFIF Challenge: Make whatever you want with your favorite Peachy Keen Faces!!! Well...I don't think I could pick just ONE favorite!

All the cuts for this card are from Birthday Bash. Sentiment is Pink by Design. The bunny has a Peachy face from the Critter faces in medium, and a tiny bow out of Baker's Twine. Added LOTS of faux stitching, and some stick on pearls for the corners.

Last night I pulled my sewing machine out of the back room (where it has sat for far too long!) so that I could tackle some repairs and alterations on a few little items of my girls that need it. So...since it was out anyway, and I have been wanting to try sewing on a card - I decided to give it a try! Here is my first attempt! It happened to have purple thread in it, and I was too lazy to change it, so that is why the card has so much purple on it! I stamped and heat embossed the butterflies, then cut them out and glued them on the card, then added the sentiment and some stick on purple pearls. The butterflies are from the February KOTM, and the sentiment is from the March KOTM.
