Avocado Arts - Sassy Chicks for March

Good morning! I'm super excited to be sharing over on the Avocado Arts Blog this morning! I have 3 cards to share today - and lots of pictures:

This month's stamp set is such a darling and perfect set for spring...which I know many of us would love to have come soon!!!

For this first card - I cut a tag with my Paper Smooches stitched tag die, then layered lots of the fun images from this set on it. I love all the possibilities for scene building with this set! 

I tied some ribbon and twine to the top of it, then attached to all my other layers with foam adhesive.

All my pattern paper is from a MME 6x6 paper pad, I used my Lil' Inker's Stitched Circle dies for one layer, and I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder on my white cardstock as well. Also tucked a doily in there - and finished off with a few enamel dots.

Next up I played with some embossing paste. For this one I started with a soft yellow cardstock, and used a stencil and some embossing paste to create a background. 

I stamped my cute little chick and sentiment onto a die cut frame that I cut with a Paper Smooches die, colored it with Copics, then added Glossy Accents to the glasses. I drew a line of Copics around the outside of my frame, using the included stitch lines as a guide, then covered it with Stickles for a bit more sparkle. Finished off by rounding off a couple of corners, then added some jute twine tied in a bow at the bottom.

Finally - I just had to play with that sunshine! 

For this card, I stamped the sunshine on pattern paper, then fussy cut it out. I added an angled panel over my pattern paper (from a Crate Paper 6x6 paper pad), then attached the sun with foam adhesive. 

I fussy cut out a flower from a little scrap of my pattern paper, then tied a bow with hemp twine and attached my flower over that. Finished off with a bit of bling on the sun to tie it all together.

Avery Elle Thank You - Embellishments

Good morning! Yesterday was a good day to play - and I got a new camera lense, which made it SOOOO fun to take my pictures! I would love to know if you can tell a difference!

I made this to play along with the Avery Elle AEIHeartU Challenge #2 - Embellishments:

I started off by stamping some flowers and leaves with 2 different stamps sets with Hero Arts ink. I went for a kind of "folk art" feel with the colors and mirror image. The 3 stamp sets I used were "Laurels" and "Petals and Stems."

I added the sentiment from "Oh Happy Day," on a strip raised with foam adhesive, then added a generous sprinkling of sequins from Winter Blend sequins. I used Avery Elle white cardstock for my base, then matted it with Mint to Be, and attached to my card base of Truffle.

Watercolor You Are loved

Good morning! A few weeks ago, a sweet friend passed on her Simon Says Stamp February Card kit to me - I have eyed them for a while, and just LOVED this one! I was excited to have some time to play with this - the papers and stamps are just gorgeous! 

I am also linking this up with a couple of challenges - first of all Virginia's View Challenge #1: Watercoloring:

Next up, the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Tag It, and I think this fits the Shop Pumpkin Spice Challenge - Rainbow.

I made my tag with Watercolor paper, and added some swipes of watercolor paint. Then I heat embossed my sentiment from the card kit on vellum, and attached it over the top. 

Added the tiny clothespin with some jute twine tied around it, and tucked a few enamel dots in white in there as well. The pattern paper (by Basic Grey) and the solid cardstock for the cardbase were also included in the kit.

On My Mind - Unity FWF

Good morning! Happy Friday everyone! Just popping by to share my card for this week with Unity Friends with Flair:

This was a card I made recently for a publication call that wasn't picked up, so I get to share it here! I started off creating the background by running some white cardstock through a paper crimper. Then I rubbed a gold Gelato over the top in a random pattern, and blended and softened it with a water brush.

The main image is from the November 2013 Kit of the Month. I heat embossed with Gold Zing embossing powder on vellum, then fussy cut it out and adhere with foam adhesive. LOVE how the solid embossing, covers up the foam adhesive on the vellum! I masked and selectively stamped my sentiment from the same kit on a frame I fussy cut out of some pattern paper from an MME paper pad, then heat embossed that in white.

Tucked a wood veneer tag in there, added a few sequins, some pattern paper from Carta Bella, and some black jute twine in a bow at the top to finish it off!

Thank You - Gray and Blue

Good morning! Just dropping in with a quick thank you card I made earlier this week for a couple challenges:

I'm laughing at how well the card even fits the entire graphic for this challenge - CAS-ual Friday's Shades of Gray:

I stamped and heat embossed my sentiment from Avery Elle on vellum, then backed it with a strip of white cardstock. This way I was able to adhere it at an angle with foam adhesive to my card base.

Some MME pattern paper, a bit of Freckled Fawn washi tape, and some enamel dots finish it off.

March Eyelet Outlet Cards

Hi there! I'm up on the Eyelet Outlet blog today with a couple cards using some fun brads from Eyelet Outlet.

First up, I made a card using some of the Travel Brads - love those airplanes! I think this would make a fun graduation card - and you know it is no time at all until we will be needing those!  

I used a sentiment from Unity Stamp Company's May 2013 Kit of the Month, and added some Bling Strips from Eyelet Outlet for a trail behind the airplanes.

Pattern paper on this is from a Pebbles paper pad I have in my stash.

Next up - I used the cute Bumble Bee Brads:

I used some distress ink and a MFT stencil to make the background. 

Next, I stamped a sentiment from the Unity February 2014 Kit of the Month on vellum and overlaid it at a diagonal, then folded the edges behind the side panel.

Stencils, Texture, and the Runway!

Good afternoon! Had a little more time to play this morning, so thought I would get this posted this afternoon (especially since one of the challenges it is for is ending tonight!):

Next up - I enjoyed using my first Hero Arts stencil for this, so linking up with A Blog Named Hero:

Also linking up with a similar challenge at Frilly and Funkie Challenge Blog: Stencils and Texture, as well as Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Anything Goes with Pearls. 

I used my new Hero Arts Large Lotus Flower stencil, and embossing post over some subtle glitter cardstock from DCWV. As soon as I pulled my stencil off, I sprinkled on some black glitter that I have had in my stash forever! I have no idea who or where it was from, but it was perfect for this. I had glitter EVERYWHERE after this! Oh well!

Once that dried very thoroughly - I used the Thanks word die from Paper Smooches Quote Tag Dies, attached it to a strip of vellum and wrapped it around and attached to the back. Added the pearls on each side, then covered it with Glossy Accents. Once that dried, I attached the entire thing to my card base.

A pretty simple card - but with lots of waiting for stuff to dry! I'm quite happy with how it came out though!
