Winnie and Walter Winter Release - Day 2

Good morning! I'm back today to share some more projects with the BRAND NEW release from Winnie and Walter! It's been a while, but I promise you this release was worth the wait - SOOO fun and fabulous! Once again today, I have two more cards to share with you - beginning with this bright festive card:

For this card I used the fabulous new Cover Model: Peppermint Zone Cutaway, die cut from red cardstock. I used my finger to smear some Glossy Accents in the center of it in a random pattern, then sprinkled on some chunky glitter to add a bit of frosty sparkle in the center.

Next, I added my sentiment using In a Word: Grand Merry and In a Word: Grand Merry Coordinating Cutaways - heat embossed on black cardstock, then mounted with foam adhesive. I used some liquid adhesive in the center of the red die cut panel to adhere it to my cardbase, leaving the outside edges floating free for a bit of a whimsical feel!

Next up, a super simple one layer card, using the fun new You Are a Blessing - which is also the new free with purchase stamp set with this release!

I love this line of mini stamp sets from Winnie and Walter - with the options to stamp the words in the center of the main image for a multicolor but one layer image. Or the option to use it without, or, just use the words on their own! So clever!

I used 3 colors of Catherine Pooler ink to stamp out the image - Aquatini, Orange Twist, and Flirty Fuchsia.

As a finishing touch, I added a touch of gold splatter with my Starry Colors Palette. See the fun shine?

Beautiful Feather - and Quick Tip Video

Good morning! Dropping by again this morning to share another card with one of the new releases at Unity Stamp Company from last night - this feather is absolutely STUNNING!!! Designed by the amazing Angie Bloom - LOVE it! I thought I would do it super simple and let it shine in it's simplicity! :) I even made another Quick Tip video to go along with it!

Here is the Quick Tip video - showing how I used white colored pencil to color this image on kraft cardstock:

I used a Wplus9 die, and added a few ink splatters with some white Mister Huey's mist, then added the sentiment on vellum, wrapped and tucked behind. So incredibly easy!

Just wanted to say - Sparkle and Shine Challenge #3

Good morning! It's time for a new challenge over at the Sparkle and Shine Challenge Blog - this week we have a photo inspiration that is sponsored by Pretty Pink Posh! I made a fun spring inspired hello card:

Here is our inspiration photo - I loved the florals, the layers, and the fun spring colors:

I used Altenew's Vintage Roses stamp set, and several MFT dye ink colors to build my flowers. Oh how I love this stamp set - so easy to create these beautiful blooms! I added a sentiment from Halftone Hello, used a circle punch to cut a notch, and tied on some jute twine. Finished off with (naturally!) a good sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh sequins in 4mm and 6mm Aquamarine, Pink Blush, Pink Peonies, and Lemon Meringue.

Horse Note Cards

Good morning! I know there has been quite a bit of buzz lately about the MISTI tool - and I have to say I have found many reasons to love mine! I was especially happy the other evening when I was able to put together a set of 10 of these cards in just a little over an hour! I had a friend request a set of cards for a 4-H fundraiser for her kids, something with horses preferably. So...I pulled out this sweet Phyllis Harris set from Unity called Easier with YOU by my side and set to work!

I also used the sketch from the Unity {be inspired} Challenge - a little loosely, since I mostly used the center portion:

And also linking up with this weeks Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Special Lady/Girly:

I assembly line colored them - very simply! - with Copic markers, rounded a couple corners, and applied distress ink to soften the edges.

Next, I added a bit of washi tape to the top corner, a tiny Tim Holtz paperclip, and a tiny loop of jute twine - reminded me of a lasso!

Finally, I mounted them with foam adhesive on kraft card bases. I used clear boxes from Papertrey Ink to package them up. Because of the foam adhesive, I was only able to fit 5 cards in a box with matching envelopes, so I used two boxes. Don't they look pretty all packaged up?

Good morning! Dropping by quickly this morning to share a catch up card - and play along with Unity Friday Friends with Flair:

For this one, I used an image from the June 2014 Kit of the Month, and a sentiment from the March 2014 Kit of the Month - stamped very simply in black and white. Tore the edges on the main panel, added some pattern paper from American Crafts, and finished off with a huge yummy silk bow using May Arts Ribbon.

Birch Tree Sympathy

Good morning! So, this last Sunday we went to my parents for Super Bowl. I've never been into football - at ALL, because I had NO idea how the game worked. My hubby did some explaining that afternoon before the game, so I actually found that I enjoyed it - finally knowing what was going on! But...I also stamped several images and brought them with my Copic markers so I could play and do a little coloring as well!  ((((smiles)))

Here is one of the results, and the finished card I made with it:

I had that image sitting on my desk when I saw the current Cure for the Sunday Blues Challenge - and knew I had to finish it up to go along with the challenge! I know I didn't use hearts, but the lines of the trees match the falling hearts, the wood floor was a perfect fit with the kraft card base, and the entire color scheme seemed perfect:

I used the birch tree image from the Unity December Kit of the Month, and my sentiment is from Avery Elle's Oh Happy Day stamp set, stamped once in black, then offset once in MFT kraft ink. I die cut the panel with Avery Elle's Finished Frames ELLE-ments die set, then wrapped several twists of gold thread around and tied in a bow before attaching to my card base.

It took some work to make it show in a picture, but I also covered the trees with Wink of Stella - so sparkly and pretty! This picture shows it probably best:

Leaf in Rotation - Thankful for You

Good morning! The other evening I had a chance to play along with a couple more of the Winnie and Walter Birthday Bash challenges - here is the first of the two cards I made:

For my card, I picked one of the tiny leaf sprigs from Happy Christmas to make a fun spring wreath! Always super fun to use a Christmas set to make something entirely different! Added a sentiment from A Tree For All Seasons, some jute twine, and a few Pretty Pink Posh sequins to finish it off!

Birthday Moose!

Hello! Just dropping by to share a card I actually made a couple months ago for my brother's birthday in November - he kind of loves moose, so when I saw this Lawn Fawn set, I knew I had to have it!

I am also linking up with this weeks Lawnscaping Challenge - Winter Themed (I so miss seeing moose all the time as we did when we were in Wyoming! Definitely not something you see every day in Washington State!):

I used the darling Lawn Fawn set called Critters in the Arctic, colored with Copics, and fussy cut out. Sentiment is from Mama Elephant and the circle was cut with Lil' Inker's Stitched Circle dies. Added some enamel dots, and plaid pattern paper - LOVE that plaid! All the pattern paper is from MME.

Thoughts and Prayers Bird

Good evening! Stopping by with a very late entry to Unity Friends with Flair tonight - just in time it would seem!

This is another card I made a while back - when I was busily making sympathy cards for a friend who had requested several. For this one I did a little stenciling with embossing paste, used a die cut panel from Avery Elle, and then stamped the Chicken Wire background and bird from Precious Things - my sentiment came from a My Craft Spot stamp set. Added a twist of jute twine to finish it off!

Red Roses Merry Christmas

Good morning again! Just thought I would share one more today - I am still in love with these beauties from Altenew, and thought they came together quite lovely on a Christmas card:

I used Altenew's Painted Flowers stamp set, layered several different MFT inks, then added my heat embossed sentiment from My Craft Spot on a banner cut with a Simon Says Stamp die. A little gold thread, some Pretty Pink Posh gold sequins, and some matting on a kraft card base - I love it!

Fox Christmas Pillow Box

Good morning! Just popping in with a fun project for Unity Friends with Flair this morning:

It is a simple pillow box to give a little something special for Christmas. Haven't even decided what I am going to use it for yet! I cut the kraft pillow box with my Silhouette Cameo, then I used Unity's Foxy Christmas stamp set, stamped it on a frame cut with a Paper Smooches die, and added some embossed vellum. Finished off with some May Arts ribbon, some jute twine, and an October Afternoon button.

Happy Thoughts Skyline

Good morning! Hope you are having a great start to your day - today is moving day for us! Eeek! Movers should be here and starting in just a little big...so crazy how fast this day came, not sure if I'm ready!

Just thought I would share a card today that I made with some of my Altenew stamps:

I pulled the blues, neutral/kraft tones, and the ink splotches - as well as the black "hello" out of the inspiration picture. So much fun stuff to choose from in this one! I used Sketchy Cities America for my image and sentiment. I stamped the skyline once in clack, then shifted it and stamped it off again for a softer shadow look - can you see it? Then I attached my cling stamp backwords on my clear block, and stamped it with gray ink for another shadow effect. I kind of link the layered look it gave. Then I masked the edge of that off, applied a couple colors of distress ink, then added some water splotches - love how the distress ink reacts with the water. I pulled off my mask, stamped my sentiment, added some jute twine, then mounted with foam adhesive on a kraft card base.

Corner of Thankful and Grateful

Good afternoon! Just popping by quickly this afternoon to share a card that has super extra special meaning to me. I first made this card for a couple of challenges (which I will link below) - and then liked it so well that I decided to submit it to the most recent Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking Magazine Submission call. Just got the sad news today that they are closing their doors. This was the last thing I submitted before finding out, and now it seems especially appropriate to express my feelings to all the editors and amazing people I have met through this magazine and the publication and submission process:

The first challenge I originally made this for was the Little Tangles color challenge:

As well as the current Cure for the Monday Blues Challenge:

And finally, I haven't had a chance to play along with Word Art Wednesdays lately, so I thought I would link up over there as well:

I used the fun Neat and Tangled set called On the Corner, and coordinating Metal Die - love how perfectly they work together! Added the sentiments with On The Corner Additions, and heat embossed everything. My pattern paper is from a MME paper pad, and I added lots of foam adhesive between layers, and a few Ocean Breeze Satin sequins to finish it off.

Again - I have so much I could say, but I am choosing this time to be thankful for all the joys this publication has brought me. Thank you for stretching and growing me, for making me want to be a better cardmaker (and showing me how!), and for all the amazing friends I have gained through this portion of my hobby. I am truly thankful and grateful...

MCS Stamp Release Party Day 5

Good morning! Welcome to the 5th and final day of a week of sneak peeks for the new release at My Craft Spot!!! Today I played with the super fun new Wheelbarrow Die set, as well as the Fall Border metal die set, and Fall Leaves Stamp set:

I built my scene on a panel cut with Scrapping Life metal dies - cut each piece out - the swirls I cut out of felt for extra texture! I layered everything on with foam adhesive to assemble it. Pattern paper is from Basic Grey, and I used Fancy Edges Metal Dies 2 to cut that fun pinked border. Added some Natural Jute String wrapped and tied to finish it all off!

I used the newly released A Tree For All Seasons stamp set for my card - used MFT ink to build the tree, and distressed the edge of my panel with my Tim Holtz distress tool and distress ink. Added some jute twine tied in a loose bow to finish it off before mounting with foam adhesive on a kraft card base.
