Unity Friends with Flair - Love Ewe!

It's Friday, so welcome to another Unity Friends with Flair. Click on the link to go read all about it, and for a chance to win some fabulous prizes!!!

Yesterday marked one year to the day since my Grandma passed away, so I made this card a couple of days ago to send to my mom so it arrived to let her know I was thinking of her and love her. My mom has always collected sheep, so this image is perfect for her! I love these little sheep!

I stamped the ink, then used my white gel pen to doole on the wool, and added some ink on the cheeks. The scallop and circles were cut from Elegant edges with my Cricut. The tag shape was cut from Gypsy Wanderings. Ran the background was run through my Cuttlebug, and the tag is tied on with Baker's Twine. Thanks for visiting!!!

Father's Day Card - World's Greatest Dad!

Good morning! Today I have another Father's Day card - this time one I made for the Throwback Thursdays Challenge at My Creative Time. The Challenge was to use a Lite Cartridge and some "bling" somewhere on the project.

For this card, I used Playtime Lite cartridge for the little boy, and the background frame. I inked the edges of the frame, added some white stitching, and ran it through my Cuttlebug. The "bling" that I used was some Stickles on the flag. The tag is cut from Gypsy Wanderings (I think!), and the sentiment is from Emma's stamp set called You're My Best Buddy. Finished off with a bit of extra doodling, a Peachy Keen Face, and some Baker's Twine.

Mother's Day Rainbow card....

I'm still having fun doing Mother's Day cards, and for some reason when I saw this sentiment, I just couldn't help but picture the rainbow from Simply Charmed cartridge with it...and LOTS of glitter!!! I am also entering this in the Paper Playtime Challenge #41, because I used pink and glitter, and in My Creative Time's Throwback Thursday Challenge by using an older cartridge and the color green somewhere in the project. It is also based on the sketch challenge over at Peachy Keen's Challenge blog.

For this card, I got the background image from Gyspy Wanderings, stitched around the edges, and ran it through my Cuttlebug. The rainbow was, of course, from Simply Charmed, with the sentiment from Emma's stamps and a Peachy Keen Face. Inked the edges of each of the cuts, and then added glitter over the rainbow colors, and around the outside edges of the card. Added a sheer ribbon bow along the bottom, and then pop-dotted both the background shape and the rainbow - so this card has a LOT of dimension!

Thanks for looking - and hope you have a sunny day!!!

Screaming Marshmallows!!!

Bet the title REALLY made you want to look, huh? My brother-in-law's 18th birthday party was tonight, and since I needed to make a card for that, I also decided to put it in the challenge over at Scrapbookaholic By Abby - anything goes, but use a stamp somewhere on the project! I thought of the card because the birthday guy had shown us some Youtube videos a while ago of these little marshmallows with faces, screaming as they found out they were going to be roasted over a campfire. He also loves coffee, tea, cocoa, and anything like that - so I decided to kind of combine the two ideas!!! I LOVE how it came out! So much fun!

Anyway, used Unity Stamps for the sentiment on the mug, and the corners, and a Pink by Design sentiment in the left hand corner. The mug is cut from Gypsy Wanderings, by hiding the extra contours on it, and the steam is cut from Joys of the Season and covered with Glossy Accents. The marshmallows are just rounded off rectangles that I got off of the Preserves cartridge, but I know you can find that on several different cartridges as well. Added some cute Peachy Keen faces, by mixing together the eyes from a couple different sets, and the mouths from a face part set that I had. Inked the edges of the marshmallows, and drew the little half circle to make them actually look like marshmallows! Pop dotted everything, and finished off with a little faux stitching! SOOOO much fun!

3 Challenges - 1 Card!!!

I had 3 different challenges on my list that I wanted to get to, and due to busy schedule at the moment, I was able to combine them all into ONE!!! It was a challenge, and took a bit of a stretch to accomplish it - but I really like the results.

The first challenge was the Cricut Circle weekly challenge, which had to include at least 3 cuts from the Cricut, but they all had to be from the cartridges that came with your Cricut or Gypsy. So, the flower border and sentiment both came from Gypsy Wanderings, as well as the two rounded corner rectangles. The butterfly was built out of 2 hearts, an oval, some circles, and some little squiggles all welded and shaped on my Gypsy, and all from Plantin Schoolbook - a cartridge I don't use nearly as often as I should.

The next challenge was the Peachy Keen sketch challenge with a twist - the twist was to use a monochromatic color scheme. I have been struggling with that one since I saw it - cause that one is HARD for me!

The third and final challenge was a Love Bug challenge at Double Click Connections. And for that, obviously, the butterfly!

I also ran the bottom rectangle through the Cuttlebug, added some bling, a bit of black inking, some doodling and faux stitching, and pop dotted the butterfly, flower border, and sentiment. Almost forgot - also used a Peachy Keen face for the butterfly, and added a little bow with some Baker's Twine!!!

Love is the harmony...

I am so LOVING this card! I just love how it came out - I think I love the paper I started with, and that makes a big difference!

Anyway, the stamped sentiment is from one of my Unity Stamp sets, I cut the frame in 4 different sizes and 2 alternating colors from Preserves (one of the lid toppers!), and the music note border is from Gypsy Wanderings. Layered and inked everything, added some stick on pearls, and a little ribbon and a bow.

Thanks for looking!

Black and White Snowman...

Needed to make a card using cuts from two different carts for a challenge, and for some reason it popped into my head that it would be fun to make a snowman card using only black and white! So...this is the result!

The cute snowman came from Gypsy Wanderings, with a Peachy Keen Face of course. The background is from Lacey Labels, used the Cuttlebug for the embossing, a Pink by Design stamped sentiment, and added a little ribbon. This took me less than 15 minutes to make! Love the fast ones!

Birds of a feather

Well, I cut it kind of close, but I got it done! This is for the weekly challenge on the Cricut Circle blog - the challenge was to create a project with birds, at least two Cricut cuts, and stitching of some kind (machine or hand). The little birds in their cage are from Winter Frolic, the scallop background is from Gypsy Wanderings, and the stamp sentiment are from My Pink Stamper's Tweety Hoo Puns set (my winnings from a previous challenge I entered!). Picked up some twine at Joann's today, and used that for the stitching around the scallop, and added a little ribbon along the bottom, as well as some inking. Thanks for looking, and have a "tweet" day!

Picturesque

Ever wanted something really bad, just because you couldn't have it? Then when you finally got it, you found that you really didn't need it as bad as you thought you did? Well...this Cricut cartridge was one of those purchases. It was an exclusive, that you could only buy in a bundle with a new Cricut. I wanted it SOOO bad for so long, that when it was finally available, I couldn't wait to get it. However, I don't think I have used it more than once or twice. So the other day, I determined that I would find SOMETHING to use it for! Here is what I came up with...

The flower, of course, is from Picturesque, the scallop circle is from Accent Essentials, and a stamp for the sentiment. Cuttlebug for texture, a little ink, and some doodling with a white pen. Thanks for looking!

Summer and Winter

Made one card last night, and one card this evening. The weather here has been so funny, during the day it feels like summertime, but the nights are frosty and cold! So...there is my inspiration for these!

I love this first one!!! The cartridges used were Sentimentals for the stamp background, and Pooh and Friends for the clouds and kite. LOTS of printed paper - got brave on that one!

The second one was so much fun! The penguins are from Zoobaloo, with a Peachy Keen stamp for the faces. Cuttlebug for the snowflake background, as well as a Martha Steward edge punch along the bottom. Added some ribbon, and round stamp with a little bling, and pop dotted everything!

Have a great weekend!
