Love is something you do - Unity FWF

Good morning! Playing along this morning with Unity Friends with Flair using the Unity December Kit of the Month. I LOVE all the fun variety in these kits! We had friends over for dinner the other night, and we both picked this image to make something with. I LOVE the fun bright colors on this - and the sparkle from my new Wink of Stella pen...definitely need about 10 more of those things! LOVE!!! 

I stamped the image in black directly on the cardbase, then colored in with Copics. Layered it nice and thick with two coats of my Wink of Stella pen. It is so pretty and sparkly!

Rounded the top two corners, and added some washi tape on the bottom. This is an actual, official, one-layer card! These are so hard for me usually - but this one just came together! 

I am also linking this up with the current Inspired By Challenge - this inspiration photo I fell in LOVE with! The clean white, and pretty pop of color - so pretty!

Dream until your dreams come true

Good morning! I wanted to drop by and share a card I made for a few different challenges:

First - I used My Favorite Things Color Palette Challenge - pink, black, and white just make me happy:

Also linking this up to the Trendy Star Power Challenge in the Moxie Fab World, Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Emboss It, Word Art Wednesday's Anything Goes, and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog: Anything Goes.

I heat embossed my sentiment on black cardstock with white embossing powder, then stamped it with MFT Sweet Tooth pigment ink for a chalkboard look. Added some white gel pen around the edges, and some ink smudges as well.

I used a Die-namics border die to cut the white scallops, and mounted them behind my chalkboard panel. My background pattern paper is from American Crafts. I added some black bling strips from Eyelet Outlet, and some Baker's Twine and Jute twine tied in a bow to finish it off.

RC Challenge Inspiration - Moments of Life...

Hey everyone!  It's the second week of our Love, Birthdays & Chicken Soup Challenge.

This month we're giving away a set of spools with your choice of beautiful seam binding, baker's twine or May Arts Ribbon.

Just a reminder that our Ribbon Carousel Crewmates have divided up into FOUR teams. Each week you will see fresh projects for this month's challenge!

 There are only three (3) rules you must follow to be eligible for the prize:

1. You MUST use ribbon, twine, thread, washi tape or anything that comes on a spool on your creation 
2. Your project must be based on the theme of the month. 
3. You must add a NEW project to the INLINKZ HERE and link directly back to your project on your blog or online gallery. (Unfortunately, we've had participants who would have won the challenge, but they didn't do a direct link to their blog and I couldn't find their creation!)

 I thought this was a perfect sentiment from the December 2013 KOTM to use for my card:

I used the heart border along the bottom, stamped with MFT ink, then trimmed around it to add a scallop border along the bottom. I stamped my sentiment above that, then added the tiny hearts - LOVE them!

I used a bit of distress ink around the edges, then applied some Glossy Accents to the hearts and sprinkled with Tim Holtz Rock Candy Glitter for a bit of sparkle. Almost impossible to see in the pictures - but I promise it is there!

Finished off with some Basic Grey pattern papers, and some hemp twine from My Favorite Things.

MCS January Release Hop and Giveaway

Good morning!!! It is finally time for the full reveal and hop for the January Release at My Craft Spot! You should have arrived here from Robin - head over to My Craft Spot to start at the beginning.

This is such a FABULOUS release! I ended up with 3 projects using the new goodies - make sure and leave a comment before you leave, because Kimberly has provided a prize from the new release at each stop along the hop! Click HERE to check out the new store! 

And without further ado - here are my projects:

I started off with a little burlap gift bag - I found these a couple months ago at Michael's, and finally got around to using them! I used some canvas and Staz-on ink to stamp my sentiment from the new Chalkboard Sentiments Stamp Set, then cut a bow with the new Small Bow Metal Die out of cork. I couldn't get the center piece to fold around without breaking, so I wrapped some Ivory Jute twine around to hold it all together. I tucked some goodies inside and mailed it to a friend!

Next up, I had fun with the new Edgers Metal Dies, and Big Sentiments:

I used a leftover negative die-cut from a different project that I cut with my Silhouette Cameo, and attached it with foam adhesive to my cardbase. Stamped my sentiment in the middle, added a border cut with the new Edgers Metal Dies, then added some Orange Creamsicle Sequins. Finished off with a bit of Natural Jute Twine.

I was inspired for this card by the current Runway Inspired Challenge:

And last up, a fun and happy project! I had some goodies that I wanted to mail to another friend, so I put together this fun packaging to wrap it up in:

I used Chalkboard Sentiments again on this one, but with an entirely different look! I stamped with Versamark ink, then sprinkled 4 different colors of Zing embossing powder, then heat embossed. I love the bright rainbow effect! I added some Twinery Baker's Twine in coordinating colors of Lemon Drop, Caribbean, Honeydew, and Maraschino and tied it in a big fluffy bow. My side border was cut with Edgers Metal Dies, and I tucked a little doily in there as well.

Do what you LOVE always

Hello! Here with a fun card for a few different challenges - LOVE how this one came out:

First up - the Runway Inspired Challenge - I was very inspired by the colors, the strip of black, and the umbrella looks almost glittery, so I used vellum for my background, inked with white pigment ink, stitched it to my cardbase, then used my finger to smear a bit of Mister Huey's ink in blue over the top part of it. Once that dried, I added some Stickles, also smeared on with my finger.

Next up, Simon Say's Stamp's Challenge - Ice Inspiration. This was the inspiration board - the dark winter night sky, the sparkly frosty stuff - it all fit perfectly!

Next up, CAS-ual Friday's In a Word - I already entered once, but "Love" seemed like another good word for the year. That is always something I want to grow in:

And finally, the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog - the theme this week is "Blue" - this definitely qualifies!

Whew! The center panel I created by using a couple different colors of Bazzil cardstock, and cut out with my Silhouette Cameo, creating a shadow of black. I die cut the word LOVE out of the center using Paper Smooches Love Word Die, carefully popped it out, die cut it again in that bright orange, covered it with Glossy Accents, let it dry, and then stuck it back in. The rest of the sentiment came from Paper Smooches Group Hugs Stamp Set - I just masked off the word LOVE in the first sentiment. I stamped it with a sparkly Watermark ink, then embossed with clear embossing powder. Gave it just the subtle effect I was hoping for - a bit of sparkle, but very toned down.

This is such an understated, but glitzy and girly card in real life! I loved playing with the different inks, Glossy Accents, Stickles, vellum, mists, and die cuts!

Our Love is Here to Stay - Unity FWF

Good morning! Playing along with Unity Friends with Flair today - with this card using the December 2013 KOTM:

I started off by creating a background using Avery Elle Sea Glass cardstock, embossing paste, and a Simon Says Stamp Stencil.

I stamped and heat embossed the heart on white cardstock with clear glitter embossing powder, then smeared on some Tim Holtz distress ink over the top. Stamped my sentiment on a hand trimmed banner with MFT ink, then added the mini clothespin and some enamel dots.
