Vellum Treat Boxes - NEW March Spellbinders Large Die of the Month Club
Good morning! Today I have a special project to share using the BRAND NEW Spellbinders Large Die of the Month for March! It is so very lovely - and I had tons of fun! You can read all about their different kit options HERE - lots of options to check out!
This month's kit includes a fabulous die for a darling little treat or gift package, as well as some beautiful florals, flourishes, and cute little tags!
Here is a photo of the finished project in my hand - just to give you an idea of the scale of it:
I thought it would be fun to cut it out of vellum - and then I actually ended up cutting all of the decorations from vellum as well, and coloring it with Copic markers to add some interest and color variation.
I love the look of Copic markers on vellum - you have to use slightly more intense colors than you normally would to get it to show up clearly.
After adding a scribble of Copic marker to the tag to mimic a bit of a watercolor background, I heat embossed a sentiment from a cute Heffy Doodle stamp set by stamping with Versafine black ink and then sprinkling on sparkly embossing powder. Once it heat set, I added the leaves and flowers with glue, and then weighed the entire thing down with clear stamping blocks until it dried sufficiently - this kept it from curling up as the glue dried.
I did the same thing for the decorations on the side of the box - laying the die cut vellum down flat on my desk, glueing the flourish on, then adding one of the brand new gems from Pretty Pink Posh over the center - then weighing down with another clear stamp block until it dried and I could assemble the box.
I punched a tiny hole in one side of the top of the box, and used that to tie on my tags with a touch of jute string.

Heffy Doodle/MISTI Blog Hop
Good morning! Super excited today to be part of a fun collaborative blog hop with Heffy Doodle and the My Sweet Petunia team! I have a card with a simple and sweet little scene that I put together using my Mini MISTI and several Heffy Doodle Stamp sets - as well as a photo tutorial showing how I used my MISTI to help put it together!
The MISTI made it so easy to create my scene with a bit of masking, and get a great impression on my watercolor paper - since the texture of watercolor paper can make it a bit more tricky sometimes.
First of all, I planned out my little scene that I wanted to create using one of the bunnies from Hunny Bunny Boo, the umbrella from Beary Big Heart, and a sentiment from Hello Squeakheart.
At this point I removed the bunny, then I could swing the top of my Mini MISTI over to pick up the umbrella and sentiment images...
...and then stamp them! As you can see here, my first stamp was a bit lighter than I wanted, with some gaps in the lines especially on the sentiment. No problem! I simply inked up my stamps one more time, and stamped again! The MISTI makes sure it is perfectly aligned the second time for a nice dark and crisp image!
Next, I stamped the umbrella on a bit of masking paper. TIP: When masking, only cut out the portion that you are going to be stamping over! In this case the bottom of the handle, and the right edge of the umbrella where the ear is going to hit. This way you don't spend extra time fussy cutting out parts of an image that aren't going to affect your finished card! Arrange the bunny where you want it to be, then swing the MISTI lid over to pick up the stamp...
...and stamp the bunny in place!
Remove the mask - and voila! Your scene is ready to watercolor!
I used my Gansai Tambai watercolors to color my scene, adding some little splatters to it as well.
Finished off by trimming it down a little smaller than my white cardbase, and mounting it with foam adhesive over the top!

Heffy Doodle Release Insta-Hop
Good morning! I'm hopping with Heffy Doodle this morning on INSTAGRAM to celebrate the brand new release that begins shipping today! Woohoo!!! I thought I might also add more details here in a blog post so if anyone wanted to hop over here they easily could!
For this card, I started off by coloring lots of the adorable images from the new Honey Bunny Boo Stamp Set, and die cutting with the coordinating dies. I then wanted a place to nestle these cuties, so I die cut a frame from Clover Frames Dies once from white, and once from kraft, then pieced the two together for contrast.
I stamped my sentiment, then used the FABULOUS new Strips of Ease to die cut it out nice and straight. The beauty of these dies is that you can see through them, so with a skinny sentiment like this I didn't have to worry about stamping it perfectly straight. Then you can line up the sentiment inside the die, and die cut a perfect strip! LOVE these!
I finished off by layering everything together, using bits of foam adhesive for some of the elements to give some fun dimension, then layering the entire thing together on a panel of lovely floral paper!

Heffy Doodle Kitty - Layered Pattern Papers
Good morning! One of my favorite things to do on cards is layer LOADS of pattern paper. I have tended towards being a paper hoarder/collector, so the more I realize that, the more I make an effort to using it up. Piling several pieces on one card is a great way to do that!

For my card today I colored it with some non-traditional colors to coordinate with my pattern paper which is from an older Crate Paper 6x6 pad in my stash.
I layered up the pattern paper, applying my adhesive to the centers of each panel (not all the way to the edges) and then curling up the edges slightly with my fingers once I adhered it down. Added the sentiment heat embossed underneath, a bit of jute twine tied around the kitty, a strip of torn vellum, and a scallop frame from Pretty Pink Posh to finish off! Best in the Mewniverse - Heffy Doodle Free with Pre-order stamp set
Good afternoon! Whew...just got back from Creativation 2018 (pop over to my Instagram account to see more photos from my weekend there!) in the wee hours of the morning (got back to my house and in bed after 2 in the morning) - and still feeling pretty sleep and ready for a nap, but wanted to pop in a share a card using a fabulous and adorable new stamp set that is only available for pre-orders on the Heffy Doodle site!
This stamp set will be available later on for purchase, but for now is a special for pre-orders placed between now and the end of the month.
This set is SOOOO very cute - especially if you are a cat lover! I did some simple ink blending on watercolor paper with distress inks, then added some water splatters, and thinned down white paint splatters. I stamped and colored the adorable image, then stamped the sentiments on two black strips that were cut with the newly released Stitched Strips of Ease (SOOOO fun and perfect for sentiments!).
Mounted everything with a bit of foam tape, and added some clear Pretty Pink Posh droplets to finish it all off!

Cotton Headed Ninny Muggins!
Good morning! Dropping by to share another little card I put together recently using the darling Heffy Doodle Elfish Antics Stamp set! You just can't help cracking up over that sentiment!
I did a simple watercolor wash on a panel of watercolor paper, then once it dried I tore around all four edges.
I used my MISTI to stamp my sentiment, then popped my colored elf in place with a dab of foam adhesive. Finished off with some Nuvo Jewel Drops and some Crystal Glaze on the boots, belt, and stripe on the hat.

Heffy Doodle Release Blog Hop - Beary Big Heart
Good morning! So happy today to be part of a fun and fabulous blog hop celebrating the BRAND new release of Heffy Doodle Stamps!
Heffy Doodle is a new stamp company, and if you haven't seen their adorable stamps, you are in for a treat! I used the "beary" cute (sorry - can't resist!) new Beary Big Heart stamp set for my card today. I stamped it on some watercolor cardstock, die cut with a Simon Says Stamp Wonky Rectangle Die, and then watercolored in the image. I covered the heart with Tonic Crystal Glaze, added a touch of white gel pen accents, and a good heavy sprinkling of enamel dots and white Nuvo drops.
Finally, I heat embossed my sentiment on a thin strip of black cardstock and mounted with foam adhesive over the bear, before mounting the entire panel on an aqua card base!
