See Through Textured Shaker Window Card - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! Today I've got a fun card to share using a bit of a different technique I wanted to test out. I'm using a few different die sets and other supplies from Simon Says Stamp - and I really love how it turned out! I wish the photos showed the details better, but I also have a reel posted on my Instagram today that might share it a bit better!

I had seen a reel recently that used Modge Podge and dried flowers on plastic circles to make suncatchers, and wanted to recreate the idea in card form. I used die cut flowers from pattern paper, acetate, collage medium, and a brush - and it worked! I added a layer of the collage medium on the acetate, then added the flowers (die cut from Wildflower Bucket and Country Basket Bouquet die sets), added a bit of collage medium over each one as I added them, and tucked the leaves around as well. It took a while for it to dry, but I love the effect! The texture on the acetate reminds me of stained glass! I used pattern paper with Basic Circles die to frame the panel, then backed it with more acetate, filling it with sparkly Pretty Pink Posh Iridescent Stars for a simple shaker card, and backed it with a panel of white cardstock. To make the inside polished, I die cut a circle that was slightly larger, and aligned my see through shaker panel over the top - this way when it opens, it looks pretty! Finally, added some Clear Dazzling gems in the flower centers, a sentiment from Good Greetings 1, and tied some Lawn Fawn white twine around the front in a loopy bow!

Holding You in my Heart - Simon Says Stamp In My Heart Release

Good morning! Dropping by today with another card featuring the BRAND NEW Simon Says Stamp In My Heart Release! I've used one of those lovely new cardstock colors again, and paired it with several other new items from the release to create a shaker card!

I started off with one of my favorites of the new cardstock colors - Seashell. It's such a soft and pretty pastel tone! I embossed it with the new Apple Blossoms embossing folder to create some texture inside my shaker window. I created my shaker window by die cutting another favorite from the release - Scalloped Arches Frames from a panel of white cardstock. I then cut the same frame from Altenew glitter cardstock to inset to add the frame around my shaker. I filled my shaker with the new Cream Puff Embellishment mix. I heat embossed a flower from the Wild Rose stamp set in white on vellum for a lacy flower to add to the front, and tucked it behind a sentiment from Friendship XL EZ Strips sentiment strips that I cut with XL EZ Strips Banner die. I added a secondary sentiment from Wild Rose stamp set to finish this card off! Here is a closer look:

Leaf Shaker Birthday Card - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! Today I have a light, bright, and airy card to share! I used a variety of supplies from Simon Says Stamp, and I love the pastel colors on this card! Not to mention, shakers never get old, am I right?!?!

This card started when I came across the Pale Green embellishment mix in my stash, and suddenly wanted to create a shaker with it! I thought it was a perfect fit for a shaker card, so I pulled out the Rose Branch die that I hadn't had a chance to put to use yet and cut a window in a panel of white cardstock. I saved that piece to use later (stay tuned!), and then created my shaker element, filling it with that mix. For the sentiment, I pulled out the Handwritten Happy Birthday die, and cut it from Honey Gold cardstock and vellum for the shadow layer. I adhered that together with tiny dots of liquid glue, then adhered it to the card with the same. Finished off with that secondary sentiment from EZ Strips Birthday sentiment strips, cut with the EZ Strips Banners die, and then a tiny bow created with Lawn Fawn white twine! Here are more photos of this fun shaker card:

My Heart is With You - Simon Says Stamp Heart to Heart Release

Good morning! Whew - this past weekend my oldest daughter got married - if you follow me on social media, you may have seen a couple photos sharing about it. So exciting, and so beautiful, and also a whirlwind of work and emotions! I ended up taking quite a bit of time last week to focus on wedding preparations, and then unplugging yesterday to rest and recover a bit from the exhaustion. And now that she is off on her honeymoon, it's time for me to dig in and catch up on things in this neck of the woods!

So today, I've got another card to share using the BRAND NEW Heart to Heart Release from Simon Says Stamp!

This card used a product I had been wanting to challenge myself with for a while - using an acetate cardbase! I think there were some easier choices I could have made for the design, but I do love how this turned out! I used the new Falling Snow die for the background, cut from Bubblegum glitter cardstock. I die cut and assembled the new Bundled Snowman die, and My Heart is with You sentiment die, and adhered those on the glittery snow background. I then adhered it to my acetate cardbase with sturdy adhesive tape, but only behind the snowman and sentiments. I then die cut the base of both of those items 3 more times each, and adhered one on the reverse side of the front, one sandwiched opposite on the inside panel, and one on the back. All together, this allowed none of the adhesive to show, and an open spot on the inside to write a small note! I'll have a short video on my Instagram if you want to check it out a little better! Here are more photos:

Shaker cards are such a great way to use the amazing embellishment mixes that keep releasing, and they are always so much fun! This one embraces the purples with the Lavender Hearts embellishment mix, paired with some ink blending with previously released Fairy and Plum ink colors. I die cut a window with the new Chunky Scalloped Ovals die, and then added one of the Hearts Aplenty die cut from Tonic Sugar Crystal glitter paper and adhered with liquid glue over the acetate. I finished off with a sentiment from Reverse Love EZ Strips sentiment strips. Here are more photos of this finished card:

Merry and Bright - Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Gina K Designs exclusive

Good morning! I'm back to share a card using the next of the special STAMPtember collaborations throughout the month! Each collaboration is with one of your favorite companies, is limited edition, and only available while supplies last. When it's gone, it's gone! Today's special release is the much anticipated set from Gina K Designs:

I decided to create a pair of shaker cards to share! Actually, I planned on making one, but couldn't decide which way I wanted to go with the colors...so I made both versions. Now I can't decide which one I like better! I started off by stamping the ornaments in Ocean and Cranberry inks a couple times each (I had one large ornament of each color leftover). I die cut them, then decided to soften the color ever so slightly, so ink blended over VERY lightly with the same color of ink. I created a shaker window with Modern Teardrop dies, and blended the same two colors of ink at the top of my cardbases. I filled the shakers with Micro Disco Ball sequins, and reversed the colors of the background with the ornaments for contrast. Added sentiments from the stamp set, stamped in black, die cut, and popped up with a bit of foam on the acetate. By necessity (thanks to inky fingers and a smudge on one card!), I added a few Dazzling Gems in Clear to the front of the cards - which did a lovely job of finishing off the sparkle! Here are some more photos of these two cards:
