My Craft Spot Challenge - A Treat for You!

In the meantime - since it is Monday, it's time for a new challenge over at My Craft Spot - and this week it is all about packaging for a gift of food! Here is what I made:

I pulled out a jar of homemade apple butter and decided to decorate that up. I started off with a muffin cup liner to cover the top of the jar - I love to get cute muffin cup liners, and this gingham one was just perfect for this! I wrapped some crinkle ribbon and baker's twine (available HERE and HERE at My Craft Spot) around to secure the top in place. 

 Next, I cut that cute apple out using my Cricut and Preserves cartridge, inked the edges with some Tim Holtz distress ink, then added a cute Peachy Keen face, using some of the newly released face stamps - there are so many super cute ones! (You can find them on Peachy Keen HERE)

Finally, I cut a tag and added a sentiment using My Craft Spot Tiny Tag Dies and matching Stamp Set (found HERE at My Craft Spot) Isn't that the perfect sentiment? I also added a button from October Afternoon to finish it off.

Peachy Keen Post Day - Peachy Raspberries!

Yum...now I'm hungry! I love Peaches and Raspberries together - they make an awesome fruit crisp! Especially with vanilla ice cream...Mmmm! Oops! Sorry for wandering for a minute there - back to the point! So if they go together in real life, then what could be cuter than raspberries with a cute Peachy face?!??! It's my day to post over on the Peachy Keen blog, so here is the card I have to share today:

Here is the set I used for the faces and sentiments - it is the brand new July Kit of the Month - I say this every month - but I really think this is the cutest one EVER!!!

All my papers are from a brand new paper pad I just got - Crate Paper Pretty Party, and I am in LOVE with them! They are so feminine and girly, which I love, since I have two little girls!  

I cut the raspberries using my Cricut and the older cartridge, Preserves. I used my Copic markers to highlight and add some shadows, then stamped on the cute Peachy faces. I just LOVE how much character you get when you add a Peachy face to something!

The background frame is cut using Elegant Edges, and I inked the edges of that and my background paper using Tim Holtz distress ink. Did some doodling on the frame, and also on the parts of the raspberry.

Attached the raspberries with foam adhesive, and added some bling - something I have noticed myself being addicted to lately! 

Finished off with some lace and jute twine from Ribbon Carousel, and a bit of crinkle ribbon that I had in my stash for a while. Added a Papertrey Ink button for the perfect finishing touch!

Sweet 16 card!

Yesterday was my Sister-in-law's 16th birthday - and she has been counting down the days until she can get her driver's license! So...it only seemed fitting to make her a card with a car on it! I chose the car from Nifty Fifties and used some paper by Basic Grey and My Minds Eye:

And, my daughter thought it would be a great idea to make it wobble, SOOO...we put it on an Action Wobble:

Cut a tiny license plate using one of the labels from Preserves, and stamped on an abreviated "sweet 16" using Unity Stamps and Pink By Design stamps. Added a sentiment from My Creative Time on a handcut banner to finish it off.

Scrappy Mom's Stamps Terrific Tuesday's Challenge - Preserves!

Whew! Talk about last minute!!! I made this card for this weeks Scrappy Mom's Stamps Terrific Tuesday's Challenge - to use Preserves cartridge. I'm so happy with how it came out!!!

The only cartridge I used was Preserves, so both the strawberries, and the background shape are from there. I cut the background shape from the label feature on the strawberry cut. Inked them, ran them through my Cuttlebug - leaving room for a Scrappy Mom sentiment - and wrapped some twine and added a bow. Inked the strawberries as well, and added a cute Peachy Face to them, as well as a little bit of doodling with my white gel pen.



sMOOches!!!

This card was SOO much fun! And I am really proud of myself - I am able to enter it in FOUR challenges!!! That is a record for me...and something I have been working on - because there are so many fun challenges I want to enter, and I have a really hard time mixing them.

So, the first challenge is over at Scrappy Mom's Stamps to use Create a Critter. The second challenge is over at More than Favors Wacky Wednesdays to use a farm theme. The third challenge is a sketch challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog. The fourth and final challenge is on the Cricut Circle Blog, to use an animal cut.

 The cow is from Create a Critter, with a Peachy Keen face from the Princess faces added to it, and some doodling, inking, and little Baker's Twine bow. The yellow and green background is from Preserves, stretched and lengthened with my Gypsy. The banner is from Winter Frolic, with a sentiment from Pink by Design. Cut the white square behind the cow, used a corner punch on it, added some doodling, and ran it through the Cuttlebug. Finished by pop-dotting the cow and the center of the banner.



Love note

Had a CRAZY day today, so when I got home, I decided to spend a few minutes making a card for the weeks Cricut Circle Challenge that ends tonight! It was supposed to be a love note, include Cuttlebug embossing, and at least 2 Cricut cuts. I also thought I would add it to the new monthly challenge on the Unity Blog as well. So...I cut the card base from Wild Card (a sadly neglected cartridge as of late!), cut the center from Preserves and used the Cuttlebug on it, and cut the word "love" from Home Decor with some Glossy Accents over it. The black hearts I hand cut after stamping in white with one of my grab bag Unity Stamps. I pop-dotted 2 of those when I stuck them down (the second picture shows that a little better). Added a bunch of faux stitching, some Baker's Twine, a couple of tiny Prima flowers, and some stick on pearls.



Screaming Marshmallows!!!

Bet the title REALLY made you want to look, huh? My brother-in-law's 18th birthday party was tonight, and since I needed to make a card for that, I also decided to put it in the challenge over at Scrapbookaholic By Abby - anything goes, but use a stamp somewhere on the project! I thought of the card because the birthday guy had shown us some Youtube videos a while ago of these little marshmallows with faces, screaming as they found out they were going to be roasted over a campfire. He also loves coffee, tea, cocoa, and anything like that - so I decided to kind of combine the two ideas!!! I LOVE how it came out! So much fun!

Anyway, used Unity Stamps for the sentiment on the mug, and the corners, and a Pink by Design sentiment in the left hand corner. The mug is cut from Gypsy Wanderings, by hiding the extra contours on it, and the steam is cut from Joys of the Season and covered with Glossy Accents. The marshmallows are just rounded off rectangles that I got off of the Preserves cartridge, but I know you can find that on several different cartridges as well. Added some cute Peachy Keen faces, by mixing together the eyes from a couple different sets, and the mouths from a face part set that I had. Inked the edges of the marshmallows, and drew the little half circle to make them actually look like marshmallows! Pop dotted everything, and finished off with a little faux stitching! SOOOO much fun!



Happy Day...and Sympathy

I didn't notice until I was posting these, just how OPPOSITE they were! The first one is all happy, and the second one is sympathy! Guess that is how life is though, the happy mixed with the sad.

So the first one I was just playing with some stamps I had in my stash, and coloring with my Prismacolor pencils. Then I put the yellow frame around it (which is the negative cut of the Groovy card I made the other day!), and added a frame. Before I knew it, I was cutting out a happy sunshine (from Simply Charmed) and adding a Peachy Keen face, and some grass from Zooballoo. I added Glossy Accents to the grass and the rays on the sunshine, added LOTS of faux stitching, a little ribbon from my stash, and LOTS of bling with my Jolee's heat set tool. The grass and the sunshine are also pop-dotted from everything else for texture.

The second one isn't my favorite, but I figured I would share it anyway. Feels like it needs something, but I can't put my finger on what it is! Anyway, I used one of the tag shapes from Once Upon a Princess, and the flower came from Cindy Loo. The side border is a Martha Stewart punch. The frame on the inside is actually the shadow to the frame on the front, but I didn't like it there when it was all finished. So I cut a little off the top and bottom to make it fit better, and put it on the inside. Added some ribbon and a sentiment from my stash (not sure who it is by...) and a bit of doodling to finish it off.



Love blooms...

Good morning! Wanted to quickly share this card I made a few days ago, using a digital image. (not quite sure who it is by anymore...) This was my first time using something like this on a card, so it was a bit challenging for me, but I think I like the end results!

Printed the image out on cardstock, colored it in a bit with colored pencils, then cut it out by hand. The red frame around it was cut from the Preserves cartridge, and I put Glossy Accents on that part. Threaded some ribbon through and attached it with brads and pop dotted the circle from the card. Added a border punched with a Martha Stewart border punch, some stick on pearls, and finished with a sentiment from Papertrey Ink stamped with white ink.



Hang in there! Peachy Keen Sketch Challenge

I had so much fun with this one! This is for a sketch challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps (see HERE for more info). I wanted to do something other than flowers or balloons for the 3 items on the circle - so I suddenly pictured kites with cute Peachy faces! Couldn't wait to make it!

I found the kites on Create a Critter cartridge, and added the Peachy keen faces from Basic Paper Doll Face Assortment. Those were pop-dotted from the background, both of which were cut from Preserves, and inked. The top layer was run through the Cuttlebug. I pop-dotted that whole thing from the background, added some bakers twine, and buttons, as well as a sentiment from my Pink by Design stamp set.

Suddenly, I'm not in the mood for snow, I'm in the mood for summer!



Love is the harmony...

I am so LOVING this card! I just love how it came out - I think I love the paper I started with, and that makes a big difference!

Anyway, the stamped sentiment is from one of my Unity Stamp sets, I cut the frame in 4 different sizes and 2 alternating colors from Preserves (one of the lid toppers!), and the music note border is from Gypsy Wanderings. Layered and inked everything, added some stick on pearls, and a little ribbon and a bow.

A sad card...

This is one card that was hard to make. Another blogger that I follow, Courts Crafts posted this on her blog the other day:

" I have a request - most of us are card makers and a dear friend of mine and his wife just lost their 13 month old baby girl. It was something rare and in 30 hours she went from perfectly healthy to gone from their lives. There was nothing they could do. They were incredibly brave and donated her organs and already 5 children's lives have been saved. They are seeing the blessing in this storm and are leaning on God to guide them through this horrific time. Their names are Sean and Kjersten Post and their daughter's name was Brynnley.

I don't want to invade on their privacy, but if you would like to send a card to them, I would really love it if they knew how many people are praying for them and their situation."

I almost didn't post this, because I didn't want it to be in poor taste. But I truly struggled with this card - sympathy cards are a lot harder to begin with - but making one for someone who lost their daughter was particularly difficult, especially since I have two daughters of my own, and can't imagine going through such a loss. But after some prayer, I felt like the Lord led me to this poem, and I built the card around that.

The shapes were cut from Preserves, and I simply inked them a little, added some flowers and stick on pearls, and a ribbon bow. Please keep this family in your prayers - I plan on it.



hope your birthday is PuRRFeCt

Just wanted to share a quick card I made the other evening with my Unity Stamps. Also cut one of the labels off of Preserves for the background. I didn't realize how many nifty label shapes are on that cartridge! They are GREAT for cards!

Anyway, I colored the image with colored pencils, then cut them out and pop-dotted them from the background. Inked around the edge of the background and the outside of the card. Added the kitty footprint stamp to the left hand side as well as the sentiment (all stamps were from the same set: Hugs and Kitties), and wrapped a bit of string around the bottom of the card and tied it in a bow.
