I Love You Papa Bear

Hello! I'm posting an extra card today that I made over the weekend - I have been super busily working on DT stuff, and this new set from Mama Elephant had been sitting on my desk waiting for some love - so I thought I would make a card just for fun! Always nice to do! :)  I also have wanted to play a bit more with distress inks and making a background - something I don't feel that good at, even yet, but it sure was fun on this card! I will definitely be playing more with it in the future!

Also linking up with a couple challenges - first up, Simon Says Monday Challenge - Make Your Own Background:

I also plan on playing along with Mama Elephant's April Challenge - Make Me Laugh (I know this one isn't exactly "funny" - but it makes me smile every time I look at it - who can resist those sweet bears?):

I first created my background by blending distress inks together, adding some droplets of water, and a few flicks of shimmer mist. I die cut that panel using Index Card Dies, added a black mat, and then a die cut scallop in white from the same die set. The black border on the bottom was cut with Landscape Trio Die. I stamped the sentiment from Bear Hugs and heat embossed it, stamped the bears and moon, colored with Copics, and fussy cut out before adhering. Added some tiny stars from the set stamped in white pigment ink over the background to add to the starry sky feeling.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!!!

Let's Celebrate - Gossip Column Challenge!

There is a brand new fun monthly feature over at Winnie and Walter, in case you hadn't heard about it yet! It is called the Gossip Column, and written by the fabulous and trendy Taheerah Atchia! It includes a fun challenge, and I couldn't resist the challenge to play along!

This month she focused on Colour Crushes - such a fun and informative article - you definitely need to go check it out!

The challenge was to select your own palette of colors from these choices - adding black as a neutral just for a sentiment if needed. I decided to incorporate as many as possible, so I used Glacier Grey, Marsala Red, Custard Yellow, Classic Blue, Lucite Green, and Scuba Blue.

I used the little starbursts and sparkle rings from the free set from the birthday bash release called Sparkle (which I hear will be available for purchase soon as well!) - and a few borders from Scenery: Stripes and Scenery: The Party Hangover, as well as a sentiment from The Party. I used several MFT dye inks that were as close as I could manage to the color palette. Added some sparkly silver sequins and a spritz of clear sparkle mist (although I really wish I could take that part back now - but it was too late once I sprayed it!).

Thanks for stopping by today - and if you haven't already, go check out Taheerah's Column, and join in with the Challenge! Have a great day!

Distress Ink and Patterns - Thankful for You

Hello again! Back with a second card I made for the Winnie and Walter Birthday Bash challenges - didn't realize I must have been in a thankful mood, and used the same sentiment on both cards!

For this one, I stamped out my pattern using a little tiny image from A Tree for All Seasons, and the smaller of the same image to stamp over in black. It is really hard to see in the photos, but I also misted it heavily with MFT shine spray - so shimmery and pretty in real life! Die cut the front panel with a Lil' Inker's die, then added some machine stitching to my pattern paper panel - love how those two things tie them together! Finished off with a bit of black jute twine.

Thanks for stopping by again! See you soon!

Here for you Always

Good morning! The daily catch up post coming your way! This is another card I made for the last publication call at PC magazine - the one that never made it to acceptance emails!

Also linking this up with this weeks Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Have a Heart:

For my card, I used the super adorable Unity Stamp HERE for you Map. I stamped it once on my woodgrain pattern paper (trimmed at an angle), then stamped and fussy cut it out of my pattern paper. The sentiment and heart were paper pieced on top, then coated heavily with Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents. I adhered that with foam adhesive, slightly offset to give a shadow effect. Added some MFT glimmer mist, and a few enamel dots to finish it off!

Thanks for dropping by today! Have a wonderful day!!!

AEI{HEART}U Challenge - Inlaid Die Cutting

Good morning! It's time for a new AEIHeartU Challenge, and this month the theme is a fun technique called "Inlaid Die Cutting":

I love this technique, because it is a fun way to have lots of layers of paper, and still have a completely flat and mailable card!

For my card I started with the Pinked ELLE-ments Dies and cut an angled panel out of gray and cream cardstock, then Simply Said Hello Word Die out of the cream, as well as red and blue cardstock, then fitted them together on my card front.

Finally, I stamped the word "gorgeous" using Simply Said Hello, then added bit of sparkle with some shine mist spritzed over the top. This last photo shows really well how perfectly flat my card is:

Thanks for stopping by today - I hope you'll join us and play along!
