No Line Coloring with Zig Markers - Simon Says Stamp Candy Cane Background

Good moring! I'm back this morning to share another card using a gorgeous background from the Fabulous NEW Cheer and Joy Release from Simon Says Stamp, paired up with a sentiment from an older stamp set. The new Candy Cane Background stamp was so fun, I thought it would be a treat to try my hand at some no line watercoloring with a different medium than I've used before - Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers - and it is such a bold and unique look!

I started off by stamping the background on Arches Watercolor paper with my MISTI using Antique Linen Distress Ink. I then started slowly coloring in the image bit by bit...this definitely took a while, but I think it was so worth it! This was the first time I used my Zig markers without any water to blend - just leaving the colors nice and rich and bold.

Once I finished that, I trimmed the panel down to the size of an A2 cardfront. I heat embossed a sentiment from Christmas Essentials Stamp Set in gold on a strip of vellum, and wrapped it around the panel, before adhering the entire panel to a white cardbase.

Finished off with a few Pretty Pink Posh Metallic Gold Jewels to bring in a bit more sparkle!

Bright Floral Painted Thanks - Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash Challenge

Good morning! Stopping by with a card this morning for this month's Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash Challenge - the fun monthly challenge at Reverse Confetti!

This month's theme is Thank You:

For my card today, I pulled out my long neglected Zig Brush Pens and did some faux watercolor stamping with the beautiful Elegant Florals stamp set, and my MISTI to line it all up. I basically picked a couple of greens and a couple of pinks, scribbled over part of the flowers and leaves, and kept stamping and layering color until I was happy with it - such a gorgeous effect!

I die cut it with the coordinating Elegant Florals Confetti Cuts, layered it on a Grid Stitched Tag, then added a die cut thanks from Hello & Thanks Label Confetti Cuts - die cut 3 times, layered together for dimension, then with some Parakeet Dye Ink blended on the bottom to make it pop a little. Finished off with some sheer ribbon tied on the top, and some lovely pattern paper from the Cheerful & Kind 6x6 Pattern Paper pad - distressing the edges a bit to add some texture there as well.

Here are the Reverse Confetti products I used on this card - click on the picture if you want to learn more about any of these items!

Martini Mother's Day Card

Good morning! As Mother's Day is rapidly approaching, I figured I better swing by quickly to share this card that I made recently by special request! Kind of a non-traditional Mother's Day Card! :)

I used a couple different Unity Stamp Sets - I Like it Dirty and the April 2016 Sentiment Kit - Mamas and Grandma's.

I colored the image with my Zig markers, tore the top and bottom edge of the paper, and added some wonky machine stitching underneath the glass before mounting with foam over some gingham pattern paper.

I finished off by adding some "shine" to the glass by coating it with a good layer of Tonic Crystal Glaze! You can see it better in this next photo:

Unity 10th Birthday Blog Hop

Good evening! It's time for this month's Unity monthly Blog Hop - and this month is extra special as Unity is celebrating their 10th BIRTHDAY!!!

I have two cards using some of the many fabulous new releases! Woohoo!!! First up - one of my favorite flowers is the peony - so when I saw Angie Blom doodling this, I was SOOOO hoping it would become a stamp. Imagine my delight when I saw it in the new releases! Couldn't WAIT to color it up! It is called You Are Forever Beautiful:

Someday soon I should maybe do a video for this card - I actually used COPIC markers to color this - not watercolors! I used a pink, yellow, orange, and coral color and colored them up using THIS image on Pinterest as my inspiration:

My coloring ended up a bit more on the orange side, but I was really happy with how they came out!

I added some gold splatters with my Starry Colors Palette, and a sentiment from the July 2016 Sentiment Kit Let Your Wishes Fly, heat embossed in gold on a piece of black cardstock. Before I adhered that down, I added a twist of gold thread underneath.

I also couldn't resist using the new Focus on the Things stamp set - another gorgeous Angie Blom image!

For this one I actually did use watercolors - my Zig watercolor brushes - and blended with a waterbrush.

I added some Pinkfresh Studio pattern paper underneath, and a couple stickers to embellish and finish this card off!

Here is the entire blog hop line-up - make sure and hit every stop and leave comments along the way to win a Unity Prize Pack!

Set of Simple Watercolor Cards - Unity Blog Hop

Good evening! It's time for this month's Unity monthly Blog Hop - lots of fun new releases to celebrate, some fabulous sales, and of course great giveaways as well! I used two of the new releases to make a few simple watercolor cards to share:

Here is a closer look at each card - these first two use the new All Cylinders and are colored with my Zig markers. Even though it doesn't show very well in the photos, I also coated them with a heavy coat of Tonic Aqua Shimmer Pen - very similar to a Wink of Stella pen and with lots of sparkle!

These second two I colored with my Gansai Tambai watercolors:

I love how simple and easy watercolors are - and how they come out different every single time! So relaxing and fun!

RC January Release Day 2 - Spot in my Heart

Good morning! Welcome to Day 2 of sneak peeks for the first release of 2018 at Reverse Confetti! This release is fresh and new - perfect for the new year! Today's new set is simply DARLING! I'm a sucker for cute critters - and I love the darling sentiments that go with these as well!

I used the adorable Heart Spots stamp set, stamped pretty much every image, and colored in with my (lately neglected) Zig Watercolor markers. I forgot how fun they were!

I thought it would be fun to have their tails twine together, so I arranged them all in place, then used Press and Seal to pick everything up, turn it over to add foam adhesive to the center images, and then set back in place. The hearts and flower I adhered directly on the cardbase. I added the sentiment underneath - and easy peasy! Clean, simple, and adorable!

Here is a peek at the new products I used that will be releasing in a few days !

Here is the entire order of everyone participating today:

Make sure  to check out all the release sneak peeks, and leave a comment before you leave for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate - all comments must be left by noon EST on January 7th - winner will be announced 5 PM EST - there is also a chance to win on the Reverse Confetti Facebook Page.
