Musical Happy Birthday

Good morning! Dropping by again today with a card for a couple different challenges - another simple card for this one:

Linking up with a couple challenges, first of all the current CAS-ual Fridays - Musical:

Also linking this up as another entry in the MFT - Card Design Superstar Challenge:

I love how this card coordinates with even both of the challenge graphics! Completely accidental! :)

I used some Crate Paper for my background, tore the edges off a strip of white cardstock, then stamped my sentiment from My Favorite Things's LJD Celebrate You stamp set. Added a couple little notches on the sides with a hole punch to hold my Hemp Cord bow in place, then mounted with foam adhesive.

Thanks for dropping by! Have a great day!

Sweet Baby Hedgehog

Good morning! A few days ago I posted a baby card that I said was one of two that had been requested by a friend. Well, today I thought I would stop by and share the other one with you!

I used the adorable little Harrison Hedgehog from Unity Stamps and watercolored him with my Zig Clean Color Brush Tip Pens on a scrap of watercolor paper. The sentiment is from Sweet Elle. Added some random pattern paper from my stash that coordinated, a torn edge, some washi tape strips, and a tiny clothespin with some hemp twine tied on to finish it off.

Entering this in Virginia's View Challenge - All Things Embellished (clothespin, washi tape, and hemp twine!):

Thanks for stopping by this morning - I'll be back later tonight with lots of fun stuff for the Unity Tuesday Inspiration Hop! See you then!

Pretty Pink Posh August Release Guest Designer - GIVEAWAY

Good morning! Excited today to be hopping along as one of the guest designers with Pretty Pink Posh to celebrate the release of 3 new die sets, and some fun new sequins! There are also some prizes to be won, so make sure and check out the bottom of this post to see more about that!

There are 3 new die sets, and some fun new iridescent sequins, as well as some fun new packs of sequins releasing. For my first project, I used both Storybook 1, and the bow part of Twine and Bows:

I used both the negative, and the inside of the dies - notice how there is stitching on both parts? I stamped a city skyline on the inside using an Altenew stamp set, and turned it into a shaker card with some of the new iridescent Blue Lagoon sequins and some Sparkling Clear 4mm sequins.

Next up, I played with the Stitched Speech Bubbles combined with Stitched Borders 2 dies:

I used an ADORABLE Mama Elephant stamp set to create my scene, stamping my sentiments on the fun speech bubbles. Added a few fun iridescent sequins to finish off - Peacock Feathers, Sunshine Glow, and Blue Lagoon again. Each little girls dress is covered in Wink of Stella too - hard to see the sparkle, but it goes so fun with the iridescent sequins!

Finally, I wanted to used Twine and bows all on it's own to create a "gift package" on a card:

I used a simple rectangle of solid cardstock, and wrapped two sets of the twine around. Layered two bows on top of each other, then stamped some florals from Altenew around it, together with the simple sentiment. Layered it on a doily, and some Crate Paper pattern paper, then finished off with some more iridescent sequins, this time in Strawberry Burst - and a few more Sparkling Clear 4mm sequins - probably one of my all time favorites! :)

There are two $25 gift certificates up for grabs along the hop - winners will be picked randomly from comments along the hop, so the more comments you leave, the better your chances! Comments are open until 11:59 PM PDT on 8/9/15, and winners will be announced on the Pretty Pink Posh blog. Here is the entire blog hop line up:

PS SPARKS - Sending Birthday Wishes

Good morning! Playing along again with the rest of the DT at Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge - today is the start of a the always popular Anything Goes Challenge!

Here is what I made for this week:

I used the Frame 3 Die to create the centerpiece, layered over a doily on some Crate Paper pattern paper. I stamped the adorable little monsters from We Adore You on vellum and heat embossed, then fussy cut them out. I also fussy cut some party hats from some scraps of my pattern paper to put on them. Finished off with a sentiment from the same set, some hemp twine, and some Heidi Swapp Color Shine flicked on there to finish off.

Make sure and check out what the rest of the Design Team has created to inspire you - and play along for a chance to win a gift certificate to Paper Smooches!

Lil' Inker Designs - June Release - Day 1

Hello! The day has finally arrived to share all the projects I have been working on for the new release at Lil' Inker Designs! Super excited about this release - there is a wide range of fun new goodies being released!

My post for today is all about the baby cards! I used LOTS of the new releases - they are all hiding on here in some form or another! First up a card requested by my hubby for a co-worker. His boss was going to go pick up a card for one of their group who was expecting a baby, and my husband figured I would either have, or could quickly make something (he knows me well!) :-) He couldn't remember if it was a boy or girl, so I made it somewhat neutral, just to be safe!

Here are the new products I used for this card:

I die cut the stork quite simply out of kraft paper, and heat embossed my sentiment. Pattern paper is from MME, added a doily and some machine stitching, as well as some star sequins and a bit of hemp twine. Congratulations was heat embossed on vellum and folded around and stitched on.

Next up, I made a baby boy card - love all the sentiment possibilities with these sets!

Here are some more of the new releases that I used on this card:

I also used the little sentiments from the Stork Stuff Stamp set shared above. I used watercolor for my background, and machine stitched on the center word with a bit of silver thread. The little sentiments were heat embossed in white. Pattern paper is from American Crafts, and I die cut the dot banners with white cardstock and shiny silver cardstock.

Finally, a card that is ALL girl!

Here are the additional goodies I used on this card:

For this one, I used the Eyelet to emboss instead of die cut - simply by layering together with some embossing pads. Almost makes it look like textured pattern paper! I then layered the Alphabet die over the top, and stamped the stork and sentiment from Stork Stuff stamp set shown above on vellum. I added a little bow that I made with a scrap of lace, and a tiny enamel dot, then machine stitched that panel to the front of the card, leaving some loose threads hanging.

You are also going to want to check this out...yep - Lil' Inker's is now carrying paper pads!!! There are 3 different ombre pads releasing - you can check them out HERE, HERE, and HERE!!! They are AMAZING!!! Here is my favorite one:

Lil' Inker Designs April Release Day 2

Hello! Welcome back for the second day of sneak peeks for the new release at Lil' Inker Designs - this is a HUGE release, so full of fun stuff!

First up - this card was all about the die cutting!

This was the result of working a little here, and a little there while homeschooling my girls one morning. It looks like it would have taken a long time with all the layers, but it really came together quite quickly! Here are the new release items I used:

I used scrap paper to cut all my flowers, and some Crate Paper pattern paper for the base layer. The lovely border was cut with Border Builders die set. I added a row of machine stitching, some distress ink, foam adhesive between layers, and a few enamel dots to finish it off!

Next up - I had fun with some watercoloring and ink smooshing:

Here is the new set I used for this - can't wait to play with it more! Looks so fun to color with Copics as well as watercolors!

For this one, I used Quilted Swirl Stitched pattern die for the card base, with some May Arts ribbon and hemp twine tied on. I cut a Side Stitched Rectangle from watercolor paper, heat embossed my image and sentiment in white on it, then used some Mister Huey's mist, water, and clear acetate to "smoosh" my color on to the card. Also added a few splatters of more concentrated ink after it dried. As us normal, the watercolor paper curled up a bit - but instead of straightening it out with a heat gun, I decided to enjoy the texture it gave! I just used a bit of foam adhesive to attach it.

And finally - I love nautical things, and this anchor caught my eye right away!

Here is the amazing set that contains it - it is a super big stamp set, and FILLED with fun goodies!

For this one, I heat embossed the anchor and sentiment on a piece of vellum die cut with Dual Stitched Square dies - the anchor in platinum ink. I then colored it in quickly with Copic markers. I used a thin piece of wood veneer behind it that I die cut with Quilted Stitched Pattern Dies - love the REAL wood feel this gives, perfect for a nautical card! I added some chevron pattern paper, and stapled on some jute twine with my Tim Holtz tiny attacher (this also worked well to attach it to the wood veneer layer without adhesive showing behind my vellum!)

Here is the entire Blog Hop line-up - make sure and check out what the rest of the Design Team has been busily creating to share today! And don't forget to leave a comment to win one of three $15 gift certificates that Laura is giving away to celebrate the new release!

Sweetest Happy Birthday

Good morning! I'm excited today to be sharing a card with some of the very newly released MFT goodies! Since I am lucky enough to be the guest designer for this month at the MFT Challenge and Inspiration, I got a package with several items from this month's release early - I actually made this a few days ago, but I was waiting until the release was complete to share it! :)

I used the current Color Challenge color combo - the minute I saw it I thought of juicy summer popsicles!

I used the brand new release, You're the Sweetest, and the coordinating dies for my card. I die cut them out of the Daffodil, Tangy Orange, and Berrylicious cardstock, then inked them with the matching dye ink, and covered them with Mix-ables Sheer Shimmer using a paint brush. Added some scallops using Die-namics Stitched Scallop Edges and some score lines (that are really hard to see in the photos!) - as well as a bit of Hemp Cord.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day - I have another post coming in a bit with my peek at my card for this week's Sketch Challenge!
