STAMPtember Collaboration - Tim Holtz

Hello - and HAPPY STAMPtember - a month long party by Simon Says Stamp to celebrate all things stamping.

Today we are getting to see the next in the progression of the special SUPER SECRET collaboration stamp sets that will be happening throughout the month! Today we have a favorite annual collaboration - Tim Holtz!

I used this super funny stamp set to create a set of 4 cards - I just couldn't decide which combo of funny image and sentiment I wanted to use - so I used all the images and paired them up with a fitting sentiment!

I used a fairly similar layout on each one, just changing up the placement of the focal point on each card. I started by stamping each of the images in Verafine ink, and heat embossing in clear for some texture and shine. Then I blended a colored background for each one with Distress Oxide inks, and stamped some of the smaller images from the set in the same color of Distress Ink for a tone on tone effect. Added some white and black splatters, and gave them lots of time to dry. Added touches of color to the image with coordinating Copic marker colors, mounted them with foam adhesive, and added the sentiments heat embossed in white on a bit of black cardstock.

I trimmed down each of the panels and matted with black cardstock before adhering to white card bases. Here is a closer look at each of the monochromatic combos:

Which one is your favorite? Or like me, could you not decide? Haha!

STAMPtember Tim Holtz Exclusive Stamp Set

Hello! I am SUPER excited today to be sharing a card with a new STAMPtember release -  the STAMPtember exclusive from Tim Holtz, a beautiful Christmas set that includes some incredibly fabulous stencils as well! I have a total of 5 cards to share with you using this set!

These stencils are SOOO amazing and fun! You use them one way, flip them around and line up the score marks, and then you can fill in the opposite direction to make stripes and plaids! Seriously brilliant! I did that in an ombre pattern on this card using several distress inks.

I then stamped on the sentiment and bird image in black ink, then used the rustic holly berry image around the border in Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide, added some Antique Linen to soften the edges, then did some machine stitching, and finally used my distress tool around the outer edges.

Next up I have two pairs of cards using the stamp set paired with alcohol inks and the fun new Alcohol Lift Ink:

The lift ink is so fun, as it allows you to "lift" the ink off of Yupo paper, then stamp it on white cardstock like I did here - so you end up with two separate cards!

I stamped my sentiment on the alcohol background with Stazon ink to make sure it would stay well on the Yupo paper.

I followed the same process on these two, just different colors. On all the white backgrounds, I added some gold splatters with my Starry Colors Palette.

On all four of these cards, I cut out a small strip diagonally with my paper trimmer, then reversed them on each card.

The alcohol ones I added some jute string, using my Tiny Attacher to hold it in place on the edges.

Snarky Dog Cards - Simon Says Stamp Sending Sunshine Release

Good evening! Super excited tonight to begin sharing the first of my cards made with the BRAND NEW Sending Sunshine Release from Simon Says Stamp! This release is full of incredible stamps, dies, and more - but the first thing I saw when I opened my package was the HILARIOUS Playful Messages stamp set - and I couldn't wait to play with them! These funny sentiments needed the perfect images, and I just knew I had to pull out my Tim Holtz Crazy Dogs Stamp set for the perfect pairing! Here are the 5 cards I made:

These are also completely one layer cards! I pretty much just took my time coloring the images once I paired up the right dog with the right sentiments. I used my MISTI to stamp so that I could double stamp for a nice dark and crisp image. Once all the coloring was finished, I added not ONE, but TWO coats of Tonic Crystal Glaze to the eyes, nose, tags, and occasional tooth or tongue - letting the first layer dry several hours before applying the second layer. This added just a little something special to each card while still keeping them one layer! Here is a closer look at each one showing that detail on them:

So - what about you? Do you like funny sentiments like this on cards? What images would you like to pair them with?!?!? Or which card is your favorite? I'd love to hear!!!

Don't forget to go check out the entire release HERE - including this fun stamp set, Playful Messages!

Scratch Here - Crazy Dog Birthday

Good morning! I have a card this morning that I whipped out quickly yesterday afternoon for my nephew's birthday party last night - I used a few sentiments from the stamp set included in the September Card Kit of the Month from Simon Says Stamp - It's a Birthday Surprise - while the kit is sold out, you can still purchase the stamp set - It's No Secret. I paired it up with one of the darling Tim Holtz Crazy Dogs!

Isn't that "scratch here!" sentiment a hoot? As soon as I pulled out this stamp set, I knew I had to put that on here somewhere! The dog is colored up with Copic markers, then fussy cut out (there are dies available HERE, but I don't have them!) Hard to see in the photos, but I also added some Glossy Accents to the eyes, nose, tongue, and tag on the collar.

A stitched rectangle for the front panel, my MISTI to help stamp the sentiments, then the dog mounted with foam adhesive - easy peasy, and a masculine card is finished with nothing else!
