Stamped Wood Slice Coasters - with Quick Tip Video

Good afternoon! I'm also posting over at the Unity Stamp Company blog - and I'm super excited to share my project with you today - I have been working on it (and perfecting it!) for a couple weeks. For a long time I have been wanting a set of coasters for my house, and having trouble finding exactly what I wanted. I'm happy now to have been able to make exactly what I was looking for!

I saw this on Pinterest - and somehow it kind of inspired me: - I love rustic stuff, so I kind of went with that!

I even made a Quick Tip video to share my process with you! Here you go:

I ended up getting 8 coasters, that was as much as my hubby could safely cut - and I told him to PLEASE not hurt himself! Now, as a side note, I purchased one larger log at Michael's, but they also had individual slices. The cost just would have added up to a lot higher - but if you don't have the capability of getting them cut, that is another great option. I also found lots of good options on Etsy - just make sure and double check the sizes. I kept thinking I saw a good set, then realized they were only 1-2 inches across...a bit small for coasters!

Here is a peek at the back - the felt works great to hold them in place and keep from scratching your surfaces.

I used the September 2015 Kit of the Month for my stamped image:

One last look - now I'm off to make a cup of tea so I can put these to good use! :)

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!!!

Rustic Deer Note Card

Good morning! Stopping by to share another card that I had all ready to submit to the recent publication call to Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking Magazine - and now have free to share here...kind of sad still, but trying to think positive!

I am also linking this up with the Simon Says Monday Challenge - To the Moon (because of the stars!):

I used a fun stamp set from Unity Stamp Co called He's a Wordy Buck - LOVE deer, and this one is so cute and fun! I heat embossed him on vellum with Ranger Platinum embossing powder, then stitched him to a rustic woodgrain panel of pattern paper from a Crate Paper paper pad. I also distressed the edges of the woodgrain paper. Finished off with a tiny Tim Holtz paper clip, some jute twine, and wood veneer stars.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful weekend!

My Craft Spot Fall Release Hop and Giveaway!

Good morning! It's finally time for the full reveal of the new fall release at My Craft Spot! So many fun and yummy fall items! You should have arrived here from Saundra - if not, feel free to head over to My Craft Spot and start at the beginning so you don't miss anything - there is a giveaway at each stop too!

I have been having so much fun lately making shaker cards, that I thought it would be fun to put one together today with the new release goodies:

Here are all the products from the new release that I used on my card (you can find the new release in its entirety HERE):

I used the stitched lines from the new Fancy Edges die set on my card base - LOVE the detail it adds! I used my Lil' Inker's Stitched Oval dies to make the center of my shaker portion, then stamped my sentiment fromt he new Fall Leaves stamp set directly on the acetate with Staz-on Ink. I cut the leaves from the Fall Borders die using PTI cardstock, and used that to fill my shaker card. Rounded the top corners, then finished off with a bit of Natural Jute Twine wrapped around and tied in a bow.

Kimberly has provided each of us with a $10 gift certificate to give away - so make sure and leave a comment for your chance to win!

She dances, speaks, and loves - Unity FWF

Good morning! Just wanted to share a card I made for Unity Friends with Flair today. I have had this Angie Girl from Unity for a while, and just waiting for the chance to ink it up! In between different design team assignments yesterday, I took a few minutes to put this together. Coloring in something I love, but don't always take time for - this was very relaxing for me!

The stamp I used is called Whitney Girl - I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it! I stamped it on Copic blending cardstock, and took my time coloring it in before cutting the image out. I used some ombre pattern paper from MME for the background, then added the pattern paper on the front from Crate Paper with a bit of machine stitching on the top. Stamped the sentiment on a strip of vellum and folded it around on the back to secure it. Finally, I attached my colored image with foam adhesive over the top.

Also linking this up as one more entry to this weeks Simon Says Monday Challenge - Anything Goes:

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you are having a wonderful day - and the start of a fabulous weekend!

MCS Summer Mini Release - Speech Bubble Dies

Good morning! Welcome to day 2 of the fun summer mini release at My Craft Spot. Today we are showcasing a new another die set, called Speech Bubbles - made to perfectly coordinate with the Banner Sentiment stamp sets, as well as lots of other MCS sets! Here is what I made with it:

Here are the two new dies - the first one I used yesterday, and the second one is what I used for today's card. They are both available for purchase now at My Craft Spot!

For this card I die cut several of each size of the speech bubbles from vellum, then used Staz-on ink to stamp a bunch of fun sentiments from Scrapping Life Stamp Set on them to build my own custom sentiment. I attached them to my card with some machine stitching, and also stitched around the outer edges of my pattern paper from Studio Calico. Finished off with some yellow sequins from Trick or Treat sequin mix. This would also make a fun Project Life card to slip in a pocket style scrapbook page, don't you think?

Make sure and leave a comment before you leave - Kimberly will be picking a comment left on all the DT blogs to win a $15 gift certificate:

Also, Kimberly will pick a winner from customer orders for a $20.00 gift certificate.

Gift Certificate - $20

Thanks for stopping by! See you again tomorrow for the next sneak peek!

MCS Feb Release - Day 4

Hello again! Welcome back to Day 4 of sneak peeks for the February release at My Craft Spot! Only one more day of sneaks, then the entire reveal and hop will be on Saturday! Today we are playing with a new set to coordinate with Jar Basics - it is called Jar Full of Flowers! The perfect combination of spring fillers for Jar Basics. Here is my project:

I decided to go in a soft and monochromatic color scheme - so I stamped and heat embossed everything in white on kraft, then outlined with a Tim Holtz distress marker. I softened it a bit with a waterbrush to give a soft shadow effect.

Next, I stamped the sentiment from the new set on vellum, wrapped it around the card, and secured it with staples. Matted the whole panel in white cardstock, then tied some Natural Jute Twine around it.

Finished off by mounting the entire thing on an Avery Elle woodgrain card base.

Now the fun stuff! This week is a party - and a party is so much more fun when you have gifts, right? So hop on over to My Craft Spot and let Kimberly know what you think of the today's sneak peeks for a chance to win these fun Tiny Tag Dies:

See you back here again tomorrow for one more day of sneak peeks! Have a great day!!!

Thank You Blossoms - FWF

Hello! Joining in yet again with Unity Friends with Flair Friday! I have another card to share using the Unity January 2014 Kit of the Month:

This is another one of the images I stamped and took to color at the craft fair I went to Sunday afternoon - I just LOVE coloring flowers, and this one was so fun!

I cut the image out using my Lil' Inker's stitched circle dies. I also used my Wink of Stella pen to add some glitter to the center darker portions of the flowers. As always, very difficult to photograph, but this picture shows it best:

Added some MME and Crate Paper pattern paper, stamped my sentiment on vellum with Staz-on ink, then attached a tiny paper clip and tied on a jute twine bow.

Thanks for visiting! Have a wonderful day!!!

MCS January Release Hop and Giveaway

Good morning!!! It is finally time for the full reveal and hop for the January Release at My Craft Spot! You should have arrived here from Robin - head over to My Craft Spot to start at the beginning.

This is such a FABULOUS release! I ended up with 3 projects using the new goodies - make sure and leave a comment before you leave, because Kimberly has provided a prize from the new release at each stop along the hop! Click HERE to check out the new store!

And without further ado - here are my projects:

I started off with a little burlap gift bag - I found these a couple months ago at Michael's, and finally got around to using them! I used some canvas and Staz-on ink to stamp my sentiment from the new Chalkboard Sentiments Stamp Set, then cut a bow with the new Small Bow Metal Die out of cork. I couldn't get the center piece to fold around without breaking, so I wrapped some Ivory Jute twine around to hold it all together. I tucked some goodies inside and mailed it to a friend!

Next up, I had fun with the new Edgers Metal Dies, and Big Sentiments:

I used a leftover negative die-cut from a different project that I cut with my Silhouette Cameo, and attached it with foam adhesive to my cardbase. Stamped my sentiment in the middle, added a border cut with the new Edgers Metal Dies, then added some Orange Creamsicle Sequins. Finished off with a bit of Natural Jute Twine.

I was inspired for this card by the current Runway Inspired Challenge:

And last up, a fun and happy project! I had some goodies that I wanted to mail to another friend, so I put together this fun packaging to wrap it up in:

I used Chalkboard Sentiments again on this one, but with an entirely different look! I stamped with Versamark ink, then sprinkled 4 different colors of Zing embossing powder, then heat embossed. I love the bright rainbow effect! I added some Twinery Baker's Twine in coordinating colors of Lemon Drop, Caribbean, Honeydew, and Maraschino and tied it in a big fluffy bow. My side border was cut with Edgers Metal Dies, and I tucked a little doily in there as well.

Thanks for sticking with me this long! Here is a quick peak at what you can win here - also the stamp set I used for two of my projects:

Isn't it fun?!?!?!? You're next stop along the way is Ally - and here is the entire blog hop line-up, in case you get lost along the way:
