Old Fashioned Christmas Greetings

Good morning! Popping in with the details on a card I'm sharing over at My Craft Spot this morning:

I love how Kimberly designs stamps that can be used for cute and fun cards, as well as vintage and elegant cards! For this card, I used a sentiment from the stamp set "Joy to the World." I also used some Cherry Red Traditional Baker's Twine and some Natural Jute twine for my bow. My pattern paper is some older Webster's Pages Christmas paper, and I made a window with a Spellbinders Die in some kraft paper, then debossed with my PTI woodgrain Impression Plate. Used some distress ink on the edges, and my pretty button is by Basic Grey

A Watercolor Ikat Card

Good evening! Just popping by to share a card for a couple of challenges! I had fun trying to create a watercolor effect with the ikat image from the Unity March 2013 KOTM. I sprayed some different colors of Heidi Swapp Color Shine on a non-stick mat, inked up my stamp on that, then stamped on watercolor paper. After that dried, I stamped my sentiment over the top with Versamark ink.

I also used some distress ink, some Crate Paper pattern paper, a little black jute twine, a window cut with my Lil' Inker's Stitched rectangles, and a few sequins.

I am linking this up with a few challenges - first up, the Runway Inspired Challenge. Here is the inspiration photo - I pulled the colors and angles out of it:

The brand new Tuesday Trigger in the Moxie Fab World - LOVE the colors of those leaves:

And then the current Inspired By Challenge - the  colors and contrast were so fun:

Thanks for stopping by - and have a wonderful evening!!!

My Craft Spot Color Challenge - Christmas Card

Good morning! It's time for a new challenge at My Craft Spot - and this week is a color challenge...but I decided to take the color challenge and make a Christmas Card:

This is the color combo - and at first I was totally thinking along the lines of a more spring theme card...then it hit me that it would be perfect for a Christmas Card too!

I pulled out all of my My Craft Spot Stamps to see if I could make what I was thinking of, and found that cute little branch on the Stamping All Around Fall set - and the sentiment from Mistletoe.

I started by die cutting a circle, then using it as a stencil to very lightly in pencil trace onto my white cardstock. Then, I stamped the leave a BUNCH of times in Versamark ink, then heat embossed with green Zing embossing powder. I stamped and heat embossed my sentiment, then added all the enamel dots, and the little Ivory jute twine bow at the top. I used some Bazzil Cardstock for my cardbase - it matched perfectly with the green embossing powder!

I love being able to stretch my stamps to make new things - and like I told my husband, I especially love it when the idea I have in my head actually works on paper like I want it too! Sometimes that isn't the case...haha!

Anyway - thanks for stopping by! I hope you will head over to My Craft Spot to join in this fun challenge! Have a great day!!!

Paper Smooches SPARKS - Cool Shades

Hello! It's time for a new challenge over at Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge!

This week it is a Cool Shades Challenge:

Here is the color palette - Autumn:

I used the adorable new set, Enchanted Elves to make my card - I've been enjoying the cards I have seen lately with a monochromatic stamping theme, so I stamped the cute elf 3 times with MFT ink on coordinating paper, then fussy cut them out and added wiggly eyes. I trimmed a banner for the bottom of my card, then stamped my sentiment in 3 parts so it was in a long row. Then attached each item with foam adhesive to Avery Elle Maple Woodgrain Cardstock.

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit! Please stop by and see what the rest of the SPARKS team put together:

Happy Christmas Stockings

Good morning! Popping in with the details on a card I'm sharing over at My Craft Spot this morning:

For this card I used the cute sentiment from Mistletoe - and (*gasp*) cut it apart so that I could use it all in one row. This way I can still put it back together to use as it was made, or be free to use it in more ways!

My background texture was created by cutting a stencil with my Silhouette Cameo and then applying embossing paste to my card base. Once it dried, I layered all my other goodies on top.
I finished off by tying some Natural jute twine across the top, and in a whimsical bow to fit the feel of my card.

Supplies:
Stocking Brads from Eyelet Outlet
Bling Sheets Blue from Eyelet Outlet
Pattern Paper: October Afternoon
Miscellaneous: Embossing Paste, MFT ink,
and Stencil cut with Silhouette Cameo

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!!!
