Good morning! I'm back again today for another day of celebrating Christmas in July with Penny Black!
I have two cards posting each day for this week over on their blog. I'll be sharing a little sneak peek here - but pop over to their blog to see all the details, supply list, and instructions! Here are my two cards for today - both bold and graphic:
I used two shades of MFT ink for an ink smooshing technique after heat embossing the main sentiment. Stamped the rest of the sentiment once that dried, tore one edge, then attached with foam adhesive to a black cardbase.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you'll join us and play along - can't wait to see what you make!
Good morning! I wanted to share another card today that I made a video for recently. The video is just over a minute long - so no need to sit down and plan for a long time to watch it! It shows how to simply create a shape card using solid metal dies - I made this card in the video:
You can check the video out here below, or if you want to see it larger and clearer - you can check out my Youtube Channel HERE.
I did the watercoloring portion of this off camera, so that the time was focused on how to create the shape card. I used the current Unity SMAK kit Happy Little Moments, and my Zig Clean Color Brush Tip Pens to watercolor the front. The metal die I used is Lil' Inker's Stitched Mat Circles. Finished off with some Pretty Pink Posh sequins!
Good morning! Super excited today to be kicking off a fun week celebrating Christmas in July with Penny Black!
I have two cards posting each day for this week over on their blog. I'll be sharing a little sneak peek here - but pop over to their blog to see all the details, supply list, and instructions! Here are my two cards for today - both using a non-traditional holiday color scheme:
I just adore the beautiful roses in Lovely Thoughts! So pretty! I stamped them on watercolor paper, filled in with MFT Dye ink, then blended with a waterbrush. Added some of the little dots in blue randomly over the background, then flicked some of the yellow around with a wet brush. Finished off with a torn edge, some American Crafts pattern paper, and a few clear Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

Good morning! Dropping by this morning with a card I even made a video for! A simple sympathy card using the the current sentiment kit, Butterflies and Sunbeams and my Zig Clean Color Brush Tip Pens.
Here is the video I made - once again, would LOVE to here your feedback! I really want to try to make more of these, so would love to know how to make them better! :) (You can find the video a little larger and clearer on my YouTube Challenge HERE)
The coloring you can see in the video, but the other information I'll write here! I die cut the front panel with an Avery Elle die, layered a doily underneath, added a few enamel dots, some pattern paper from Lawn Fawn, and finished off with a soft gray cardbase using Simon Says Cardstock.
Here is the sentiment kit - beautiful focal point image and lovely sentiments - so perfect!
And here is the sale running this weekend - crazy deals! Perfect opportunity to get absolutely whatever you have been eyeing!
Good morning! I was going to post this yesterday, and the day just got away with me! I returned home from our last trip on Tuesday evening to a big pile of mail - and one of the things I found in that stack was a fun little package full of goodies from the brand new upcoming Simon Says Stamp release! I was pretty excited to break them out and play with them, combining them with a couple things from the last two releases that I hadn't had a chance to play with yet! Here is what I made:
I started off with the fun new Splashy Waves Wafer Dies - they layer so fun together! I then used Firework Bursts Wafer Dies to create a sunburst on a panel of white paper. I inked the sunshine with some of the brand new Apricot Ink (LOVE!), and the waves with Spring Rain ink from the last release. I added some "spray" from the waves using the tiny dots from Cone Building Stamp set. Sentiments came from Lila's Heart Stamp Set. There is some Crate Paper pattern paper layers, washi tape, wood veneer stars, some black ink splatters, jute twine, and a few sequins from the Simon Says Stamp Fall Festival pack to finish it all off.
This release is fabulous - I adore the new ink colors! There is also a huge blog hop today full of inspiration to check out!
