Patches of Pink - December Post and Link-up Party!

Good morning! It's time for my December post over at Patches of Pink, as well as a link-up party! We are doing - what else? - a Christmas Theme! Here is my card:

I am so excited about this card - as I tried a totally new technique for me! I cut out the ornament with my Cricut using Simply Charmed and hiding all the contours on my Gypsy. I then used it as a mask, inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink, then stamped a background stamp from the November Unity Kit of the Month in red ink.

I then cut the top of the ornament, inked the edges, covered it with Glossy Accents, then Martha Stewart coarse glitter. Added some Baker's Twine, and a sentiment from the same Unity stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by! Make sure and head on over to Patches of Pink to link-up your own Christmas creation! Can't wait to see what you make!!! I LOVE this time of year!!!

I am also entering this in the challenge over at Paper and Such - clean, simple, and quick Christmas cards

Shop Pumpkin Spice Design Team Call

Good morning! I have been spending lots of time thinking on what to make for this, and starting to fear that I will run out of time! Shop Pumpkin Spice is having a Design Team call, and the instructions were to make something using product carried in their store, and something that makes you smile.

I used Echo Park's Victorias Garden 6x6 paper pad. Pumpkin Spice carries such a wide variety of 6x6 pads, which I LOVE for cardmaking - and they have the best prices around! I have always been so impressed by the shipping prices, and fast shipping and delivery as well.

Not much makes me smile as much as my two daughters, and this image is just so sweet and girly, that it totally made me think of them! Here is my card for the design team call:

The image and sentiment are from a set by Crafty Secrets. I stamped them on vellum, then colored them in soft colors with my Copic markers. I then cut a frame from pattern paper using my Cricut and Elegant Edges cartridge, mounted it on that, then backed it with white cardstock.

Inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Photo, then mounted it on more pattern paper from the same paper pad (also with inked edges). Finished off with some white crinkle ribbon, and some Baker's Twine (both of which I see are now carried by Pumpkin Spice!)

So, now to cross my fingers and wait! What a fun opportunity - can't wait to see who makes the team! LOVE the current team - and always enjoy the posts on the blog.

Gift Card for a photography session...

I wanted to take a few minutes to post a card I made for a friend. She is a photographer (BEAUTIFUL work by the way! Here is her website if you want to check out her work: http://jennifereckerphotography.com) and wanted a card to hold a gift certificate for a free photography session with her to put on a giving tree. So...I pulled out one of my favorite Unity Stamp sets, and made this for her:

I used a frame cut that was leftover from another project and never got used, as well as some scraps of October Afternoon paper from some previous projects. The stamped image is from Unity Stamps, and the sentiment, which is just on a hand cut banner, is from Pink By Design.

I inked the edges of everything with Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Linen, then added some Crinkle Ribbon to make a bow, as well as some PTI twine to tie the tag on.

I am entering this is several different challenges! The first is the Cuttlebug Spot - to use leftovers - which I did. Next is at My Craft Spot: Treat Packaging (I think a gift of a photography session is a GREAT treat!). The next one is the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge: Gift theme - and this is a holder for a gift. And finally, there is the Wacky Wednesday Challenge over at More than Favors - Christmas Theme.

Thanks for visiting today! I hope and pray that you are having a restful and blessed Sunday!!!

Unity Friends with Flair - and some challenges!!!

Good morning! It's FRIDAY!!! That means it is time for Unity Friends with Flair...and I have a few other challenges that I am entering this in! Here is my card this week:

The first one is the color challenge over at the Play Date Cafe - aren't they yummy colors? I LOVE them!

Next is the Tuesday Trigger at the Moxie Fab World - LOVE these ornaments, so I made a card with ornaments!!!

And finally, the Unity KOTM sketch Challenge - which I kind of turned sideways!

I used an older Unity KOTM from October 2010 for the stamped image, colored it with Copics, and added some PTI buttons. Then inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink, and mounted it on some yummy October Afternoon paper.

Matted it on more white cardstock, then on kraft paper, and added a Baker's Twine bow and another PTI button on the side.

Thanks for stopping by - make sure and stop by the Unity Stamps blog - and also check out the great sale they are having!!! It looks awesome!!!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

Yep - I got that song running through my head! For some reason, I have had a little trouble getting inspired this year to put up Christmas decorations. However, this last weekend I had a moment of inspiration and jumped on it - so we now have some lights up around the house. Will be getting our tree later this week too - my girls are ecstatic!

Anyway, I have a card today that I made for several challenges!  The first is for the Cricut Cardz Challenge #97 - a Christmas card inspired by a favorite Christmas song (as mentioned as the title of this post!) Next is the Scrappy Mom's Stamps "Christmas" theme Terrific Tuesdays challenge. I am also entering this in the weekly challenge on the Cricut Circle blog - "Flower Fusion" - to incorporate store bought pre-made flowers on a project with at least 2 Cricut cuts. Lastly, I am entering this in the Basic Grey Flickr Pool Stitching December Challenge.

Whew! After all that, here is my card this time around:

I used A Child's Year for the ornament cut, as well as the tag. All the paper is from Basic Grey's Picadilly 6x6 paper pad.

Inked the edges of everything with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Vintage Photo, then smeared some Glossy Accents on the ornament, and coated it with Martha Stewart Coarse Glitter. I then attached the ornament to the card with pop-dots for some dimension.

Used some Prima Flowers, tied on with some Crinkle Ribbon and PTI twine with the tag, stamped with a Scrappy Mom's sentiment.

It is kind of hard to see in the picture, but I finished off with some faux stitching around the outside edges of the card.

Thanks for visiting! Hope you have a fabulous day - we are heading out to go for a drive in the snowy mountains! Fun fun fun!

MFT Pure Innocence Tag

Well, tags aren't something I have done a lot of, and I see a LOT of amazing entries, but since I just got my first stamps from My Favorite Things - the Pure Innocence line, I wanted to enter the Guest Designer Contest on their Splitcoast Stampers Forum - there is a fabulous prize that would be so much fun! You can find all the info HERE! Here is the tag I made:

I colored with Copics, and inked the edges of the white paper with Tim Holtz Antique Linen distress ink. Next, I layered everything with some October Afternoon papers.

Finished off by punching a hole, threading through some crinkle ribbon, and adding a PTI button and some PTI twine to finish it off.

I love these stamps, and know I will be using a LOT more of them in the future! Thanks for visiting!

PuRRFeCt birthday wishes!

Just wanted to quickly share a birthday card I made for one of my friends daughters this last weekend. She was celebrating her 7th birthday, and really likes cats!

I cut a frame with my Cricut using Elegant Edges, then used a stamp from Unity Stamp Co, paper pieced it, used a bit of copics for the nose and collar. Inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Linen. All paper is from Echo Park's Victoria Garden 6x6 papper pad. The outside two layers are inked with Tim Holtz ink in Vintage Photo.

Finished off with some Crinkle ribbon, and a PTI button with some PTI twine tied through it.

Thanks for visiting today! Hopefully I'll have a little more to show you later on - trying to complete some challenges...which is extra challenging this time of year when everything is so busy!
