My Creative Time - New Release Hop and Giveaway

Good morning! The end of the week has finally arrived, and sneak peeks are finished - the new release from My Creative Time is available now for purchase! Don't forget to SAVE 20% on your ENTIRE order with code OCT2013!

I am hopping one last day as a guest designer with Emma's fabulous design team - if you have just arrived here from Veronica, you are the right place! If not, make sure and head to My Creative Time to start at the beginning! I should warn you - this is a pretty picture heavy post...I just couldn't seem to quit creating! Up first, a couple of fun Christmas postcards with the new Build a Postcard and Postcard Add-ons, as well as the new Holiday Tickets:

I started off by just trimming a piece of PTI cardstock to standard A2 card size (4.25" x 5.5") and rounding the corners.

I built all the different elements, using some red and green zing embossing powder to heat emboss, then adding some grey Versafine ink to soften things up a bit.

I finished off by using some Tim Holtz distress ink on the edges. LOVE the texture that the heat embossing adds, while still keeping it one layer.

Next up I made a two sided postcard in must softer, more neutral colors. I used Stitched 4x6 Journal Die to cut out the solid cardstock, and a 5x7 photo that I had on hand.

My photo was a soft sepia toned picture, and I stamped the "Missing You" sentiment, as well as the brackets and arrow from It's All About You using Staz-on Black ink, so it wouldn't smudge off the photo.

I stuck them together, then decorated the back, and my daughter's wrote a note to their "adopted" Auntie Tara, and we dropped it in the mail. I'm happy to report it arrived in one piece as well! YAY! I will definitely be making more of these to send to family and friends! As my daughter's said: "Now we can use our OWN pictures for postcards, and not just go buy them!"

And finally...I just HAD to use this sweet Scallop Stitched Envelope Die to make another gift package! This time I glitzed it up quite a bit!

I used some DCWV Glitter paper to cut the Small Stitched Scallop Bow, as well as the tie closures for the envelope - and used some blingy brads to anchor them.

I tucked a little piece of doily under the bow, added a jewel bling to the center, then decorated up a Stitched Fun Ticket Die with the new Holiday Tickets Stamp Set.

After I finished this, my daughters begged to have me make an envelope for them as well! They decorated them all up cute! I didn't have a chance to get a picture of them, but I will get those photographed and posted soon! I'm the last stop on the hop - so now you are free to go SHOPPING! My Creative Time Sneak Peeks - Day 4

Good morning! Welcome to the 4th and final day of sneak peeks of the new release at My Creative Time, where I am joining in for the week as a guest designer! Tomorrow morning is the full reveal and blog hop! Today we are sharing peaks of the "Scallop Stitched Envelope" - so many fun things to do with these! I made two of them, but am sure I will be making more of them in the future:

I thought it was the perfect size for a gift card holder, so I started off by making something to hold a nice little gift card to cheer someone up! I used one of Emma's other sets that I just love - "You are Perk-fect" to decorate up my envelope. Added some color with my Tim Holtz distress markers, and a little bit of Stickles for sparkle. I made sure to mark "Venti," because you know if you need cheering up that is probably how much you need, right? :-)

Here is the reverse side. I added eyelets to the holders, and then used some natural jute twine to wrap it together. Don't you just love the stitching on there?

The next one I just cut out of some pattern paper, and added some fun sparkly brads and bright baker's twine to tie it together.

Haven't quite decided what I'm going to do with it - but I realized it would be great to use on a scrapbook layout to include a little memento or something, don't you think?

My Creative Time New Release - Day 3

Good morning! Welcome to the 3rd day of sneak peeks of the new release at My Creative Time, where I am joining in for the week as a guest designer! Today we are sharing sneak peeks of "Medium Bow Die" and "Small Bow Die" - and boy are they CUTE!!! I made a project with each one today - first up, a gift bag with the larger one:

I used a pre-made kraft gift bag as my base, then used Emma's "Stitched 4x6 Journal Die" for my background. I then cut the girl and frame using my Silhouette Cameo. I embossed the frame with PTI's Woodgrain Impression plate, then used a little distress ink on the edges for some depth. I attached it with foam adhesive for a tiny bit of dimension.

I cut the large bow die using some Crate Paper pattern paper scraps and used some distress ink on the edges of that as well. Next, I glued it over the bow that was included in the cut file, added a sentiment from "Wow So Many Candles" and finished off with a bit of bling that I found at Michael's recently.

Next up, I made a coordinating little treat box:

For this, I used the "Small Bow Die" and the same pattern paper, then used some coordinating pattern paper to cut out Emma's "Bubblegum Treat Box." I tied it closed with some Ivory Jute Twine, then attached my little bow on top! SUPER simple and quick!

My Creative Time New Release - Day 2

Good morning! This is Day 2 of the new release where I have the privilege of joining in for the week as a guest designer at My Creative Time! Today the sneak peeks are focused on the new die set called "Rosette Dies," and the new stamp set "All Around Holidays." I used both sets to create this tag:

I used a scrap of some Crate Paper to make the larger of the two rosettes, then used Emma's Scallop and Stitched Circle Die together with the new "All Around Holiday" stamp set to create the center. I cut the center with vellum, then cut one of the tiny coordinating stitched die elements from "All Around Holiday" to cut a snowman and attach it behind the vellum.

I then put foam adhesive on the back of the snowman ONLY to attach it to the scallop portion for a little dimension. It is kind of hard to see in the pictures, but I think this shows it a little better:

I tucked a jute twine bow behind it, attached it to my rosette, then attached the entire thing to my pre-made tag base after adding a couple strips of washi tape along the bottom. Added some lace trim and ric-rac that I got in the dollar section at Michael's a while back, tied it with jute twine, and finished off with the "to" and "from" from the "Holiday Ticket" stamp set that I sneaked yesterday.

My Creative Time New Release - Day 1

Good morning! I am so excited this morning to be joining in for the week as a guest designer for the new release at My Creative Time! Today the design team is sneaking "Build a Postcard," "Postcard Add Ons," and "Holiday Tickets." As soon as I saw the fun sentiments in the "Holiday Ticket" set, I immediately had to try out a chalkboard technique card! They were perfect!

I used an older die, MCT Tag Dies and some chalkboard paper to create my tag. I then stamped the sentiment from the new release with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white powder. I added some doodles and such with a white colored pencil as well.

I added some crinkle ribbon from my stash, and some blue jute twine from American Crafts, then a tiny blue gem that I picked up from Michael's a while back.

Tucked a doily behind, and added some pattern paper from an older MME Christmas pad, then mounted the tag on the card with foam adhesive. Yep...this is a pretty bumpy card! Good luck to whoever might try to fit it in an envelope! :-)

Horse Birthday Card for my Daughter

Good morning again! I managed to get my daughter's birthday card made and photographed yesterday afternoon - so I thought I would pop by and share it! Shhhh...she hasn't seen it yet! :-)

I am also entering this in the current challenge over at My Creative Time - Birthday:

In case you couldn't tell, like most girls, my daughter is very in love with horses at the moment! Actually, she is my little animal lover anyway, but horses are definitely a big one right now! So I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut a horse image, and made a shadow for it.

I used lots of Basic Grey pattern paper, and stamped my sentiment from two different My Creative Time stamp sets - Polka Dot Surprise, and It's All About You

I also put foam adhesive pretty much between each layer, and tucked a little jute twine tied in a bow in there as well.

Sorry about the pictures! They seem a little gloomy - the last couple days have been unusually overcast here in Wyoming...and we have been getting SNOW already! Yep...I'm still trying to get used to the idea! Definitely a first for my little birthday girl - to wake up to it SNOWING! She's happy though, so I don't mind!

Birthday Girl Card - MCT Square Card Challenge

Good morning! Just dropping by to share a card I made for a little girl's birthday party. I also made it for My Creative Time's Designer Challenge: Square Card!

I used the color story for this weeks Color Throwdown (5th Anniversary Celebration Challenge!):

I used a MFT Pure Innocence Stamp, colored it with Copics, then cut it out with my Lil' Inker's Stitched Square Dies.

I stamped the sentiment from My Creative Time, then added a couple of gold sequins - just because I love them!

I cut a larger square using some pattern paper from My Mind's Eye, wrapped some jute twine around and tied in a bow, then mounted my image panel on the front of it with foam adhesive.

Finished off by making a square cardbase, adding the stitching with the same dies, and mounted the whole front panel with foam adhesive.

I just love making little girl cards! They are so much fun! Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!

Father's Day Golf Theme Cards

Good morning! A couple days ago a friend asked me if I could put together a golf themed Father's Day card for her - using Papa on it. I couldn't pick which one to make, so I made two and let her choose! Here is the first one:

Super simple - used a my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the golfer, and glued it flat on the paper. Added a sentiment from My Creative Time with MFT kraft ink.

Matted it slightly offset on some pattern paper from MME and a kraft cardbase. It's perfectly flat and easily mail-able!

Second one was super simple as well:

Also used my Silhouette Cameo, this time to cut out a golf card. Glued it flat and added another My Creative Time sentiment, this time with PTI ink.

Used a MFT Die-namic die to cut the grass on the bottom. All my pattern paper is from MME on this card as well. Finished off with a bit of jute twine.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!!!

Happy 10th Birthday to my daughter!!!

I really don't know where the time has gone! I can't believe that it has been 10 years since I became a mother - and yet today my oldest daughter is celebrating her 10th birthday!

She has been VERY into American Girl dolls, especially the new girl of the year, Saige. I always have a hard time spending that much money on a doll, but since it was the one thing she wanted, we decided that instead of getting a few smaller gifts like we usually do, we would just get one special gift for her. She was SOOOOO excited! I don't think there are even words to cover her excitement! One of the features of this new doll had to do with hot air balloons, so it occurred to me that they would be the perfect theme for a card for her. So...here is the birthday card I made for her:

I decided to use the sketch for the current Designer Challenge over at My Creative Time:

I still LOVE the print and cut feature on my Silhouette Cameo! I love being able to print and perfectly cut out an image! So glad I finally decided to give it a try a while back - definitely hooked!  I cut two of these hot air balloons out in different sizes, and layered them together.

Then - since I haven't used them in a while, I decided to pull out some Action Wobbles and use those for my hot air balloons! Here are a couple pictures of them in action:

Even when they're not moving, I love the dimension that the action wobbles give to a card!

I layered it all together on some pattern paper from My Mind's Eye, some solid kraft and cream cardstock from Avery Elle, and stamped the sentiment and chevrons from My Creative Time using MFT ink. I also inked the edges of pretty much everything with distress ink.

Thanks for stopping by - and happy birthday to my sweet new 10 year old!!! Here is her with a photo of her birthday gift:
