Reach for the sky

Good morning! It's Friday, and time for Unity Friends with Flair over at Unity Stamp Company! I thought I would share a card I made for the sketch for the last Papercrafts Magazine publication call - obviously it didn't make the cut, so I can share it here!
I used a Unity Stamp Itty Bitty for the hot air balloon, and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I used a bit of Copics on the balloon, after heat embossing it with black powder.
The clouds are cut with my Cricut using the cartridge Pooh and Friends. I also textured them with the Papertrey Ink Linen impression plate.
All the paper is from Basic Grey's Picadilly 6x6 paper pad. The bottom starburst is a Market Street background stamp that I embossed with clear powder on the green paper. Finished off with some Jute button twine from Papertrey Ink.
Thanks for stopping by! Now make sure and head over to Unity Stamps to join in the fun!

Inspiration Challenge - Built a House!

First off, I want to say that this card is very special to me! This past month, I sold enough cards to build my first house for a widow in Burundi!!! Yep...$600...and a women and her children if she has any, have a roof over their heads, dignity restored, and living proof that because of the Lord, a miracle can happen! So, I wanted to make a card to enclose the check I will be mailing to Sister Connection.

Over on the Cricut Circle blog, they are having a challenge to use something from the Circle Magazine as inspiration, and make it your own. As soon as I saw all the little house projects, I knew JUST what I wanted to do - especially since I had this card to make! So...this card in particular jumped out at me. Here is the photo of the card from the Circle Magazine:

And here is my take on it! I used a LOT of cartridges on this one! The house came from Kate's ABC's, and the hills were from Country Life. The grass is cut from Zooballoo. The sunshine is from Give a Hoot, and is actually one of the flower icons, but it looked like it would make such a cute sun that I had to give it a try! The clouds are cut from Pooh and Friends. I did some more machine stitching, a bit of doodling, and finished off with a stamped sentiment from my stash.

It's a Spring thing!!!

Yep...it is about time for Spring to get here! So...I made a happy card for a couple of challenges! This card is for both the Throwback Thursday challenge at My Creative Time which was to use Walk in My Garden and include flowers, and the Peachy Keen LFIF challenge to make a Spring gift, and include Peachy Keen faces.

The watering can and the flowers all came from the Walk in my Garden cartridge, and then I couldn't resist using that cute little "cal-a-pit-er" (as my daughters call them!) from Pooh and Friends cartridge. Isn't he the cutest? Then I inked everthing, added Peachy Keen faces, some doodling here and there, pop dotted all the flowers, added a sentiment from Pink by Design, and finished off with a little Baker's Twine bow.

Hap-Bee Birthday!

This is another easel card I made last weekend! I picked the little bee from the Pooh and Friends cartridge to cut with my Cricut, then added Glossy Accents over the whole thing. Just couldn't resist, so I added a wiggly eye to him too! The yellow flower is one from my stash I got a while ago in a big pack in the dollor section at Michael's, the white one is a Prima Flower. Added some faux stitching, some ribbon, a few brads I had hiding in my stash, and a computer generated sentiment for the inside.

Summer and Winter

Made one card last night, and one card this evening. The weather here has been so funny, during the day it feels like summertime, but the nights are frosty and cold! So...there is my inspiration for these!

I love this first one!!! The cartridges used were Sentimentals for the stamp background, and Pooh and Friends for the clouds and kite. LOTS of printed paper - got brave on that one!

The second one was so much fun! The penguins are from Zoobaloo, with a Peachy Keen stamp for the faces. Cuttlebug for the snowflake background, as well as a Martha Steward edge punch along the bottom. Added some ribbon, and round stamp with a little bling, and pop dotted everything!

Have a great weekend!
