Bright Floral Get Well Soon - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! Stopping by with a simple stenciled get well card using a fabulous stencil and sentiment set from Simon Says Stamp. I had never used this stencil, and was super excited to put it to use - and thought it would be extra fun to use extra colors on my stenciling!

I stenciled directly on my white cardbase, and used 3 different colors of distress inks to blend over each of the roses in the Rose Trio stencil - keeping my colors and blends nice and soft, and really not going entirely to the edges - trying to avoid the leaves without taking time to mask them off.

I added color on the leaves with two shades of ink, keeping the same effect as the roses. Once I pulled the stencil off, I blended more inks around the same areas and corners. I love how this softens the lines on the stenciling, and draws the color out to all the edges a bit as well.

Finished off with a few black splatters, a sentiment from the super fun Word Mix 2 stamp and die set popped up on foam adhesive, and a few simple silver pearl embellishments that recently released from Pinkfresh Studio!

Happy Birthday Butterflies - Pretty Pink Posh Spring Release

Good morning! Stopping by this morning to share a quick card made using one of the gorgeous new stencils that are part of the Spring Release from Pretty Pink Posh! You can find the new release HERE. I'll be joining the Instagram release hop on Friday - so make sure and check back for that - but wanted to share a card a bit sooner than that! This card uses the darling new Butterfly Background stencil with a bright happy rainbow of distress oxide inks:

Since this stencil has tiny thin bits, I used some Pixie Spray to hold it in place while I stenciled.

I used the new Kitsch Flamingo distress oxide ink, along with Dried Marigold, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, and Mermaid Lagoon, blending between each layer.

Finished off with a sentiment from the older set Cupcake Critters, and a supporting sentiment from the previously released Simple Sentiments stamped over the top, masked that off and added some black splatter, then trimmed that panel down to mount on my white cardbase!

STAMPtember Collaboration - Tim Holtz

Hello - and HAPPY STAMPtember - a month long party by Simon Says Stamp to celebrate all things stamping.

Today we are getting to see the next in the progression of the special SUPER SECRET collaboration stamp sets that will be happening throughout the month! Today we have a favorite annual collaboration - Tim Holtz!

I used this super funny stamp set to create a set of 4 cards - I just couldn't decide which combo of funny image and sentiment I wanted to use - so I used all the images and paired them up with a fitting sentiment!

I used a fairly similar layout on each one, just changing up the placement of the focal point on each card. I started by stamping each of the images in Verafine ink, and heat embossing in clear for some texture and shine. Then I blended a colored background for each one with Distress Oxide inks, and stamped some of the smaller images from the set in the same color of Distress Ink for a tone on tone effect. Added some white and black splatters, and gave them lots of time to dry. Added touches of color to the image with coordinating Copic marker colors, mounted them with foam adhesive, and added the sentiments heat embossed in white on a bit of black cardstock.

I trimmed down each of the panels and matted with black cardstock before adhering to white card bases. Here is a closer look at each of the monochromatic combos:

Which one is your favorite? Or like me, could you not decide? Haha!

Here is a closer look at this hilarious Christmas set:

Together Again - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! I'm here today to share ANOTHER attempt at no line watercoloring - this time using a different image from Simon Says Stamp, and my Pinkfresh Liquid watercolors for a different medium. This ended up with an entirely different feel to it - but I really like how it came out. Still lots more practicing to do though!

For this card I used the beautiful leaf image from Be Kind stamp set and stamped as before with Antique Linen distress ink, but this time on Tonic Watercolor cardstock. Once again, I took my time and slowly watercolored the image in, this time with liquid watercolors

Once that dried nice and thoroughly, I added several sentiments from Stronger Together stamp set over the top - building them together to create one large sentiment, and stamping with my MISTI so I could stamp several times over the watercolor paper to get a clear impression.

I die cut that panel with Wonky Rectangles, and mounted on some more Lawn Fawn pattern paper before adhering on my A2 card base!
