MCS New Release Day 5 - Christmas Goody Tags

Good morning! Welcome to day 5 of sneak peeks for the Winter Release at My Craft Spot! Today we are sharing projects made with Christmas Friends & Neighbors Stamp set.

This set is full of all kinds of fun and cute sayings to attach to your homemade (or not so much homemade!) treats to give to friends, neighbors, and teachers! I decided to make something super simple. Everybody knows how crazy it gets around the holidays (something that some of these sentiments capture perfectly!) - so I found some pre-printed tags and journaling cards I had in my stash, stamped my sentiments on them, punched a hole, then tied on some pretty ribbon and twine to finish them off!

This right here is my FAVORITE sentiment of the bunch! I'm thinking of attaching this to a jar of fudge topping for ice cream, a bag of chocolate chips, one of those giant Hershey kisses, you get the idea!

This would go perfectly with some homemade bread, banana bread, slice and bake cookies, fancy cheese and crackers - so many fun possibilities!

And this one - on just about anything baked! Crumb cake, coffee cake, cookies, etc...

I used Cranberry, Milk Chocolate, and Toadally Green crinkle ribbon (you can find it all HERE at My Craft Spot) and Traditional Twine in Chocolate, Black Licorice, and Baby Blue (available HERE at My Craft Spot).

Thanks so much for stopping by! Make sure and head over to My Craft Spot next to see what the rest of the design team put together, and enter today's giveaway - and come back tomorrow for the full release and hop with a giveaway at each stop, including this one!!!

A card from my oldest daughter!

Whew...we just got home yesterday from back to back trips - and apparently my body was worn out, because I spent the first half of the day with a migraine - one of the worst I have ever had! I rarely get them anymore, but this was a doozy! So much for my plans for the day, which had originally included canning and processing the 3 boxes of peaches, 1 box of pears, 1 box of Gravenstein apples (to make into pies to freeze), 1 box of concord grapes (to juice and can), and a bag of jalapenos and pickling cucumbers - not to mention unpacking from camping, doing laundry, etc...

So, now that I am feeling human again, I thought I would take a few minutes to post the card my daughter made for the Simon Say's Kids Challenge - she even used the optional extra of "ice" for the theme:

She made this card with no help whatsoever from me! I'm so proud of her - definitely a little cardmaker already!

I'll be back next week with the new release for My Craft Spot - it's a super fun one! Here a couple of sneak peeks to hold you over:

Also - My Craft Spot is now selling sequins! I'm SOOOOOO excited about this! Evidently they were popular, because they are already sold out - but Kimberly is taking pre-orders and will ship them out as soon as she gets another shipment in. Look at these fun color combinations:

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great holiday weekend!

Color Splash...literally!

Hello! I'm just stopping by real quickly with a card for a couple of different challenges. I'll get to those in a second, first though, here is what I made:

I am also linking this up to the Golden Oldie Challenge over at A Blog Named Hero - and since the stamp I used is one of the first Hero Arts stamps I ever purchased, I decided that worked, right?

I started off with some white paper and used some Mister Huey's Color mist on it. After that dried, I stamped that silhouette over the top with black Versafine ink.
I matted that piece with some green Cosmo Cricket paper from an older 6x6 paper pad. The background is a large wood mounted stamp from Unity Stamp Company called Worn Music. I grabbed the sentiment from another Unity Stamp Company set called Party All Day.
After stamping the background and sentiment, I attached the center panel, then matted the entire thing in more of the green paper.
Wrapped some jute twine around it, added an October Afternoon button, and attached to a mat of black paper with foam adhesive, before attaching to a white card base.
This is the first time I have had this much fun with this type of color combo! Thanks for stopping by again!

De-LIGHT-ful Birthday Wishes - Unity FWF

Good Friday morning! Is anyone else confused on what day it is? With Christmas, I think my Wednesday felt a lot like a Monday, so it seems kind of strange to have it be Friday already! But I don't mind in the least - especially since it also means it is time for Unity Friends with Flair! Always a fun part of the week for me! Here is what I made this week:
I drew some of my inspiration this week from the Runway Inspired Challenge:

I pretty much was dying to use that awesome light bulb stamp from the new December KOTM, so I started there, then started looking for colors and such from the inspiration photo.
I used some older Cosmo Cricket papers from my stash, and paper pieced the light bulb on a frame cut with a Spellbinders Die. Added some touches with a Copic marker, and inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Linen.
Used another Spellbinder's Die for the frame behind, also inked with the same distress ink.
Ran some Chevron Washi Tape along the card, before attaching the frame with the light bulb with foam adhesive.
For the sentiment, I hand trimmed a banner, then inked most of it with black ink, and colored in "LIGHT" with a Tim Holtz distress marker. Also inked the edges before attaching with foam adhesive.
Finished off with some green self adhesive pearls for the final touch. I LOVE this fun stamp - and know I will be using it lots in the future! Thanks for stopping by - have a wonderful weekend!!!

I Love Roo!

Hello! I really wanted to pull out my Paper Smooches stamps today and play along with this weeks Paper Smooches Picture Perfect Challenge! Here is what I came up with:
And here is the photo inspiration:

I immediately noticed the chevron curtain in the background, and remembered some new washi tape that I was dying to use! So...I started there! Then I paper pieced the cute little kangaroo using some Cosmo Cricket pattern paper I had in my stash.
Next, I added a bit of washi tape under the kangaroo to pull out the middle pillow color, then used a My Creative Time Die to cut the frame, and heat embossed in white the sentiment. I wasn't going to, but it seemed like it needed the black matte to ground it a little, so I went with it.
Added some more washi tape under the sentiment as banners, and then finished off with a bit of black bling I had in my stash.
I hope you're having a great day! I will be back tomorrow sharing a card I created for Unity Friends with Flair, and on Monday I'm SOOO excited to start sharing some of the sneak peeks for the December Peachy Keen release! It is AMAZING!!! Can't wait to share! So...unless I pop in today with something else (always a possibility!) - I will see you tomorrow!

MFT Getting Sketchy #97

Good morning! It has been a while since I have been caught up enough on stuff to join in with the MFT sketches - but I managed to sneak the current one (MFT Getting Sketchy #97) in yesterday! Here it is:
And here is the sketch for the week:

This came out pretty simple - and the lighting wasn't the best when I took the picture - so sorry for that!
I used some washi tape from October Afternoon on a kraft paper card base, then used a hand trimmed banner, with a small tab cut with a MFT die-namics. I inked the edges of each with Tim Holtz distress ink.
I used some tiny Cosmo Cricket stickers to spell out friend, then stamped a MFT sentiment stamp in 3 different colors of Papertrey Ink by masking off the edges. I intended to add stitching with my white gel pen after that, but accidentally grabbed a black glaze pen and didn't notice until after I drew the first stitch! Oops! So...black it was! To compensate, I added a bit of black jute twine to the right side to balance it out!
Finished off with a couple of coordinating self adhesive pearls!

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you are having a wonderful day!

Market Street Block Party - Blessing in Disguise

(If you are looking for the Peachy Keen Thankful Hop Post, please click HERE or scroll down!)

(If you are looking for the My Craft Spot New Release Post, please click HERE or scroll down!)

Last month I missed playing along since we were traveling, but when I saw that this was the weekend of the Market Street Stamps Block Party, I was excited to have time to play along today! Here is what I made:
I started off by stamping the Punched Tin background on a shape cut out with a Spellbinders Nestabilities in Linen Papertrey ink. Then, after embossing the same shape with the same die, I left it masked off, and inked the edges a bit with some Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Linen. I then stamped the sentiment over the top of that.
I used some background paper from an older Cosmo Cricket 6x6 paper pad, also inked with Tim Holtz distress ink, only in Vintage Photo.
I wrapped some crinkle ribbon in 3 different colors around, and tied them in bows along the side.
Finished off by adding a couple brads to the side of the framed panel, then attaching it with pop-dots so it stood out a little!
Thanks for stopping by to visit!!! I used to look at blogs that got lots of comments, and wonder if that blogger read all the comments they received - but I realized this last week that I am getting more comments than I realized - and reading every single one! They always brighten my day - so thank you!!!

Peachy Keen Halloween/Fall Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to an INCREDIBLE Peachy Hop with the current AND alumni Design Team! If you are hopping here from Ruthie, you are in the right spot (and nearing the end of the hop!) - but if you just happened along and want to join in on the fun, make sure and head back to the Peachy Keen blog to find the entire hop line-up. There are a total of $150 in prizes being given away - so you don't want to miss a stop! To win, leave a comment at each stop - winners will be picked on Friday, and announced on Saturday!

Here is the card I made for the hop:
I used the awesome September Kit of the Month:

If you haven't heard about the amazing Kit of the Month - make sure and click HERE to read all the details. Kathy does an incredible job each month putting together an amazing stamp kit - I am always astounded by the fun variety! Like this month, for example, I love that there are tons of cute images, but there are also several that are more classy and elegant. You can't go wrong - and you won't be disappointed! Each kit is 8 1/2 by 11 - so much fun!

For my card for the hop, I used the image in the bottom right corner and used my Tim Holtz distress markers to color it before stamping on kraft paper.
All 3 pattern papers are by different manufacturers from my stash: the yellow from Lilly Bee Designs, the green from Cosmo Cricket, and the woodgrain from Crate Paper.
I used a Fiskar's border punch along the bottom edge, and tied some beautiful green ribbon from Ribbon Carousel in a knot bow.
The sentiment is from September Kit of the Month as well, and I added a few stick on pearls to finish it off.
That's it for me! Your next stop is the amazing Peachy Queen herself - Kathy! Don't forget to leave a comment before you hop off - and then enjoy the last couple stops along the way!

I am also linking this up to the Moxie Fab World Card Design Week Gallon/Quart/Pint Challenge.  My Gallon color is that yellow/orange, the quart is the green, and the pint is the brown in the background and sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by and have a WONDERFUL week!!!

Moxie Fab Asymmetric Jar Friends with Flair! (Say that 3 times fast!)

Good morning - and happy Friday, which also means Unity Friends with Flair time! I have a fun card to share with you today that has one of my favorite things on it! Mason jars!!! I was so excited to see the new Jars of Joy Challenge over at Moxie Fab World this week, and decided to also tackle the Card Design Week Asymmetry Challenge at the same time!

We just moved into our new house, and the day we were moving in, our new neighbors came over to introduce themselves, and brought a plate of brownies over. I'm telling you - nothing has ever tasted so good! We were sore, dusty, tired, hungry - and those were such a blessing! So...I wanted to make a thank you card to let them know how much they were appreciated!
The other thing I did on this card, is use entirely scrap paper! This was all laying on my table, and I decided I was going to use it all up - so I just started trimming, and layering the pieces until I liked how they looked, then stuck them down. There is a variety of paper there - Simple Stories, Crate Paper, Cosmo Cricket, Echo Park, and Lilly Bee Designs.
I added a doily, then some more scraps of paper, before adding the Mason jar. It is a Unity Stamp, and I stamped and cut it out, before stamping the sentiment from My Craft Spot in 3 different Tim Holtz distress inks to coordinate with the scrap papers.
I added some jute twine from Ribbon Carousel, and then attached it with pop-dots over the doily.
It needed a little something for balance, so I rounded the top corner of the card. Still felt like it was missing something, so I hand trimmed a bit of white paper into a couple of banners, and added some Tattered Angels Glimmer mist. Finally, I added a few stick on pearls for a finishing touch.
Well, I officially branched out and tried something new! Never tried an Asymmetric card before - but I think I might have to do them a bit more! It was kind of fun!

Thanks for stopping by - and have a wonderful Friday and weekend!
