Wild Birthday Cards - Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Blog Party

Good morning! Today I'm joining a fun and EPIC Blog Party to celebrate the NEW STAMPtember Release from Simon Says Stamp, as well as kick off the month in a big way. There are tons of surprises throughout the month, and I can't wait to share lots more with you! To start off, there is a scavenger hunt of fun discounts and freebies along the way, so enjoy the search as you hop along and check out all the inspiration! Here is my coupon code - get an exclusive Pinwheels 3x3 stencil set for FREE with ANY purchase! Enter code PNWL at checkout to get this item for free. Discount valid until 9/3/25 at 11:59 pm ET.

And I've got this little happy trio of birthday cards to share using some of the items in the new release!

I make a lot of birthday cards, and often need cute ones for kids with a lot of nieces and nephews - and friends with kiddos too! So when I saw the Wild Birthday set, I fell in love and couldn't wait to play with it! I thought it would be fun to watercolor up a few of the images - so I stamped them on watercolor paper, and just had a fun and relaxing watercolor session. Once they dried, I trimmed them down slightly to fit over the A2 Scalloped Rectangles dies, that I used to create shaped cardbases! I just cut two of them for each cardbase, scored the top edge of the back one, and then adhered them together. I added a sprinkle of the new Golden Hour embellishments to each one, and then some sparkly glitter drops to a few spots on each image. Here is a closer look at each of these cards:

Cactus Watercolor Cards - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! I'm sharing a card today, and once again I pulled out a few favorite older supplies from Simon Says Stamp. And it's clearly been far too long since I broke out the watercolors - I need to do that more often. It was so much fun! As a bonus, these are nice and flat, so easy to pop in the mail!

These fun images are part of the Suzy's SUCCULENTS Watercolor Prints - and they are so fun for choosing a coloring technique and focusing on that, instead of how you plan to put your card together. I used my Daniel Smith watercolors, and took my time while watching a YouTube live that my friend Lea Lawson was doing! One of them I did in warm cozy tones that felt more realistic for these images. The other one I did in more cool tones for a bit of fun variety! Once they dried, I trimmed the panels down a bit, matted with some coordinating colored cardstock, and then mounted on white cardbases. Finished off with some Tonic glitter drops in Blizzard for a bit of extra sparkle! Here is a closer look at each of these cards:

Birthday Wishes Set - Pretty Pink Posh February Release Instagram Hop

Good morning! Today I'm celebrating the new February Birthday Release from Pretty Pink Posh by joining Day 3 of the Instagram Release Hop! You can head over to Instagram to join that hop, and enter to win today's giveaways, and you can find the new release HERE. I thought I would share more details here on my blog on my card - since it is always tough to put enough info in an Instagram post!

Today I'm sharing some bright, colorful, and fun birthday cards using the new Birthday Circles stamp set, and the coordinating Birthday Circles die! I just couldn't stop with one card, and you never know when you are going to need a birthday card, right?

I stamped all 6 images from the stamp set on watercolor paper, and then had fun watercoloring the images, before die cutting with the coordinating dies.

I also die cut one of the tags from the coordinating dies for each card from white cardstock - to contrast with all the coordinating bright solid colors of cardstock I chose.

I have had a stash of colorful baker's twine in my stash for some time - and I figured it was time to pull it out and put it to some good use finally! I was happy to find coordinating twine for each color I chose too!

I adhered each of the tags on my cardbases with a bit of liquid glue, and then arranged the twine, holding the bottom of it in place with a tiny staple - a great way to add an accent, and hold it where I want it.

Each of the circles was mounted with foam adhesive, and then I heat embossed sentiments from the new Cupcake Builder stamp set in white on black cardstock. I love that it has a coordinating die for the sentiment - so I could cut those out perfectly, and mount them with foam adhesive as well.

Finally - as a finishing touch, a few sequins from the sparkly Clear Sequin Mix - a staple item in my craft room!

And just like that, I have a nice little stack of birthday cards for my stash - perfect for those last minute parties that catch me by surprise!

Which color is your favorite?

Toner Hot Foiling with Solid Hot Foil Plate with Video

Good morning! I'm super excited today to be sharing a fun trick I discovered for using the BRAND NEW hot foil plate from Pinkfresh Studio to do hot foiling with Toner Reactive inks and some toner printed sheets and sentiments from Simon Says Stamp - and it worked SOOOO well (not perfect - I show the imperfections in the video too!)! I have a full supply list at the bottom of this post (including affiliate links) if you are curious about anything I used in this video.

I filmed a video to show the process - it is short, and will make much more sense than me trying to explain it, so I highly recommend watching it if you can spare the time! You can also watch the full video HERE on YouTube:

This solid foil plate is already super versatile as a tool to use the negative spaces of your hot foiling from hot foil plates, foiling die cut pieces and sentiments, and creating your own foil paper. This just adds to the many ways you can use it! You can watch the other video I created showing all these ways to use it HERE if you want more info.

Here are some photos of the finished projects...foil is HARD to photograph! But they are so sparkly, shiny, and pretty in real life!

Birthday Balloons Mini Slimline Trio - Simon Says Stamp Born to Sparkle Release Blog Hop

Good morning! Excited today to be joining in on Day 2 of an incredible blog hop to celebrate the BRAND NEW Born to Sparkle Release from Simon Says Stamp! Make sure and check out all the inspiration with this new release AND link up your creations as you receive your orders HERE in the Gallery created just for this release! And check out the graphic below to receive a FREE Island Crush ink cube set with the coupon code below through May 2, 2021 as well - while supplies last (code expires at 11:59 PM EDT)!!!

Apparently I'm enjoying mini slimline cards lately - didn't realize until I was writing this post that the last Simon Says Stamp blog hop was when I posted my first mini slimline cards! Today I've created a trio of these fun size cards using the brand new Party Balloons cling background stamp!

For each of these cards, I started off by stamping and heat embossing in gold on strips of Strathmore watercolor paper

Then I went crazy with my Daniel Smith watercolors and did some messy monochromatic watercoloring, mixing different tones of each color combo together on the backgrounds, and adding deeper shading on the balloons. Simple messy fun!

Once those backgrounds dried, I added to the loose messy feel, and added some gold splatters with my Starry Colors palette, and some white paint splatters for good measure as well.

Sentiments are pre-printed Reverse Sentiments Strips All Things Happy - perfect for this trio of birthday theme cards!

If you need some birthday cards to add to your stash - or any kind of celebration for that matter! - this stamp set is perfect for so many different techniques! It would also be fabulous for some relaxing Copic coloring, emboss resist ink blending, or just stamping over a blended background or pattern paper!

GIVEAWAY INFO:
Simon Says will be giving a $25 gift certificate to their online store at each stop along the hop - so make sure and leave a comment before you leave for a chance to win! Winners will be announced next Wednesday on the Simon Says Stamp Blog.
