MFT Getting Sketchy #71 - Sometimes you just need a Hug

Good morning! I wanted to quickly (at the last minute again!) post my entry for this weeks MFT Getting Sketchy challenge. Here is my entry:
And here is this weeks sketch:

I used one of my favorite Pure Innocence stamps, and did some very simple coloring with Copic markers.
All my paper is from an Authentique 6x6 paper pad. Don't know why I always forget about this one! The papers are so pretty!
I inked the edges of everything with Tim Holtz distress ink in a new color I just got called Old Paper. I kinda like it!
Finished off with a jute twine bow and a PTI button.

Sorry for the short and sweet post - got a busy day again today! See you all again soon!

Exciting news - new Design Team!!!

Good morning! Hope you had a wonderful weekend - and Happy  Mother's Day! I have some exciting news to share with you this morning!!! I have been asked to join the My Craft Spot Design Team!!! So excited to be joining this talented design team - and playing with Kimberly's fabulous stamps, and wonderful selection of crinkle ribbon and twine!!! Here are the cards that I made with some My Craft Spot goodies for my Mom and Mom-in-law for Mother's Day:
The cards are the same, except for slightly different background paper! I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the chocolate bars (file can be found HERE), and covered the wrapper with Glossy Accents and Martha Stewart coarse glitter, and the chocolate with just Glossy Accents.
I wrapped some Pine Cone Crinkle Ribbon (you can find it HERE) around the pattern paper, adhered that to the card base, and stamped my sentiment from Inside and Outside Set #1 (click HERE to find it). I also forgot to take a picture of the inside, but I stamped a Happy Mother's Day sentiment on the inside from the Happy Easter set. Finished off by attaching the dried chocolate bar with pop-dots for some fun dimension!
Thanks for stopping by to share my news today! Make sure and hop on over to the My Craft Spot blog to meet the rest of the new additions to the team! Kimberly is having a giveaway as well, so make sure and leave a comment here and at all the other blogs as well for a chance to win!

Unity Friends with Flair - Baby Card

Good morning, and happy Friends with Flair! I have had this baby card done for a while, and not gotten around to posting it, so I thought I would share it today! You might notice it is very similar to a Valentine's card I made a couple months back (click HERE if you want to see that one!)
It is very similar, just baby themed! I used some October Afternoon Farmhouse papers, distressed the edges, and inked them all with Versmark Smokey Grey Ink.
The stamp image was colored with Copics, then I added some Glossy Accents and glitter on the stars and moons. LOVE the sparkle it adds!
I stamped the sentiment two times with different colored ink to give a shadow effect. Took some Baker's Twine and tied it around with an October Afternoon button.
The lace trim peaking out of the top and bottom is from a Tim Holtz trim pack. I cut it in half, and glued it behind the top and bottom panel. LOVE the soft and pretty effect it gives!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful Friday and weekend!

Some Scrapbook Layouts for NSD and Basic Grey

Hi there! I'm here to post a few scrapbook layouts for the National Scrapbook Day Challenges over at Basic Grey - fortunately they were still open for the week, since I was finishing my last day in Hawaii, then traveling home on NSD - so I missed out on a lot of the fun. Not that I would give up our incredible vacation for anything! Haha!

Anyway, this first one is for the Mixed Title Font Challenge. Pretty self explanatory!

The next one is for the Shape Challenge - to use a shape other than a rectangle or square:

The I have one for two of the challenges - The Hero Arts + Basic Grey Challenge, and the Basic Grey + Coordinations Challenge.

Next up is for the Layers Challenge - a layout with Multiple layers:

And finally, the Vintage Basic Grey Challenge - I used papers from what I think was my first ever stack of Basic Grey Paper - Urban Prairie:

Well - we'll see if I get any more of the challenges done - but at least for now I have these posted before the deadline! Have a beautiful evening!!!

My Creative Time - Throwback Thursday

Cutting it kind of close - but I managed to complete my card for Emma's Throwback Thursday challenge over at My Creative Time. I am also entering it in this weeks challenge at Fantabulous Cricut - Mother's Day, and Ribbon Carousel - Word to Your Mother challenge for the week! Here is my entry for both:
The challenge was frames - to use any cartridge that had a frame on it. So...I used Formal Occasion- which has lots of fun and funky frames! I also cut the fan out using the same cartridge. You can see in the photo below, I used pop dots between each layer - so there is LOTS of dimension on this card!
All my papers are from some older My Mind's Eye 6x6 paper pads that I still have in my stash. I inked all the edges with gray ink, then added some Glossy Accents and Martha Stewart glitter to the edges of the frame and top layer of the fan. Also couldn't resist adding a cute Peachy face from the newest Cherub Face Assortment
I also used my Tim Holtz distress tool on the outside edge of the base square of pattern paper. Finished off by adding a crinkle ribbon bow, and a sentiment from Emma's stamps - the first set I ever purchased! Still one of my favorites!

I also used the color inspiration from the Cricut Circle National Scrapbook Challenge. When I printed it off, the orange looked a bit more yellow, so that is the color I went with in my card...anyway - here is the photo:

So thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful evening!

Playing with the new Peachy Keen Releases!

YAY! I'm so glad I had a few minutes free today - and got to play with the some of the new add on kits from the May Peachy Keen release! Here is the first project I made:
I used this one of the new sets - this whole release has so many FUN sentiments! I love that! And the salt and pepper shaker - EEK! So cute!!!

I started out by cutting a shape with my Spellbinders Nestabilities. I stamped the salt and pepper shaker, added the faces, and the "P" and "S", then cut an extra set to use as a mask. I inked around the edges with some Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Linen, then removed the mask and colored them a bit with some Copic Markers.
I stamped the sentiment on the top in two parts to make it fit my frame.
And all the pattern paper is from My Mind's Eye - one of the older Stella Rose sets. About time I pulled these out of my old stash - I LOVE them!
Added some lace and a bit of jute twine on the bottom to finish it off.
Well - I hope to be back soon with some more to share, but for now, I have a date with my hubby tonight! So I need to go spend some time getting ready! I will see you all later!

MFT Getting Sketchy #70

Good morning! I managed to squeeze a few crafty moments in yesterday in between settling in back home, and doing some grocery shopping to restock the empty fridge! This is for this weeks MFT Getting Sketchy Challenge #70, and the Inspired By #22 photo inspiration. Here is my card:
And here is the sketch:

And here is the photo inspiration:

I followed the sketch pretty closely, and took all the fun patterns and colors from the garden gloves and used them in my card - as well as the flowers, because garden gloves always make me think of flowers blooming!

I used a Pure Innocence stamp again, and this time just left it black and white - I kind of like the sketchy look - especially with these papers! They are from Fancy Pants 6x6 Be You paper pad.
I added the sentiment on the banner with My Craft Spot stamps - I liked how the font for the sentiment kind of matched fun with the top sentiment that was on the pattern paper.
The circle was cut and embossed with one of my Spellbinders Nestabilities, and I added a bow with some twill ribbon from Ribbon Carousel.
Also pop-dotted the circle from the background. Simple - the way I like it when I have lots to get done!

Thanks for stopping by today! See you again soon!
