MFT Getting Sketchy #73

Hello! I actually got this done a few days ago, but this is the first opportunity I had to get it posted! Anyway - this is my entry for this weeks My Favorite Things Getting Sketchy Challenge #73:
And here is this weeks sketch:

I have to laugh - because I usually change the square sketches to rectangles - and this week, I changed a rectangle one to a square! Oh well! It is just what worked for me! I just got some paper that is specially made for Copics - and this is the first image I colored up to test it out. I LOVE it! Can't believe how much easier it is to make the markers do what I have been wanting them to do. Now...I need more markers! :0)
The sentiment is from the brand new release from My Creative Time - thought it was so cute with this image! And I added some flowers I cut with my Cricut using the Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge, then inked the edges of with Tim Holtz distress ink. Tucked a few "leaves" that I punched with my Martha Stewart branch punch.
I then used some yellow chevron ribbon from Ribbon Carousel, trimmed a piece of lace in half lengthwise, and glued it to the back, and put the whole thing down under the center panel.
Finished off with a couple of stick on pearls in the top left corner.
Hope you are having a wonderful day!

MFT Getting Sketchy #69

Good morning! If you are looking for my Patches of Pink April Post, please click HERE or scroll down.

I'm posting this quick this morning for this weeks MFT Getting Sketch #69 Challenge:
Here is the sketch:

I stretched it to fit an A2 card size, and kept it pretty flat since I plan on mailing it and didn't want to worry about extra postage.
I used a Pure Innocence stamp, colored with Copics, and added a sentiment from My Craft Spot stamps that I recently won! I thought the sentiment was just too perfect! Then I inked the edges of the white paper with Tim Holtz distress ink.
All the pattern paper is from Basic Grey's 6x6 Picadilly Paper pad - still one of my favorite lines of paper! I cut the flower with my Cricut and Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge, inked the edges, and layered it and the leaves with part of a MFT Dienamics flourish.
That's it! I'm popping this in the mail today, and off for the days adventures! I have some posts scheduled, but won't be around much for the next week or so - so have a wonderful week!

Hi Sweetness...MFT Getting Sketchy Challenge #55

Good morning! If you are looking for the Peachy Princess Blog Hop, click HERE or scroll down to the last post (pssst...if you didn't notice, there is a giveaway as well!).

This morning I wanted to share the card I made for this weeks Getting Sketchy Challenge with My Favorite Things. Here is my take on the sketch:
And here is the sketch:

As you can see, I rotate the sketch 180 degrees, so the flower was on the bottom left, instead of top right. Other than that, I stuck pretty exactly to the sketch.
I used some of my favorite My Minds Eye papers, and did some machine stitching.
The image is one of my Pure Innocence sets, which I stamped and colored with Copics, right onto the pattern paper. Used an EK Success edge punch for the notebook paper edge,  and put a heart shaped doily behind it. The edges are also inked with Tim Holtz distress ink in Vintage Photo.
Finished off with a flower cut with my Cricut using Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge, with a Papertrey Ink button and twine on top of it.
Well - that's it for now! I'm hoping to get some more time to play today, between homeschooling and that thing we call housework...wonder why that always has to get in the way! Oh well, I am grateful for a house to take care of!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Birthday card - and Mojo Monday sketch

Good morning! I meant to post this yesterday, but the day got away from me! I already missed one of the challenges I made it for, but that's okay...just don't want to miss the other one too! The one I am in time for is the Mojo Monday sketch. Here is my card:

And here is the sketch:

Here is a close up of the flower. I used my Cricut and Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge to cut out the flower, added some leaves with the Martha Stewart branch punch, and a PTI button and twine in the center.

The stamp is from one of my first sets by Unity Stamp Company. I added a bit of copic coloring on it as well. Layered my pattern paper, added a doily, and finished off with a stick on pearl.

Thanks so much for stopping by! See you back here soon!

Scrappy Mom's Stamps - October Release - Guest Designer post!

Good morning! I am SOOO excited to be a guest designer this month for Scrappy Moms Stamps, because it meants I get to help show off the newest stamp sets for the month of October!!! And as an added bonus, Scrappy Moms Stamps is offering free shipping on any purchase made today (October 7th) until October 16th!!!

So, without further ado, here they are, with a card I made to go with each of them! The first one is called Believe in Miracles - and this set is unique, because $2 from the sale of every set will be donated to a national cancer group that funds research and support for patients and their families!

For my card, I cut the ribbon from Stand and Salute, inked the edges, then covered it with Glossy Accents and Martha Stewart chunky glitter. Added some tulle behind it which I also inked a bit on the edges, and put it all on a doily, again with inked edges. I cut a plain circle for the center of the doily, and inked it as well (can you tell I inked a LOT on this card?) Stamped the sentiment from the new set, and added some crinkle ribbon and a flower that I cut from Mother's Day Bouquet and layered with a button and some jute cord.

This second set is called A Holiday to Remember and is LOADED with great holiday sentiments all the way from Thanksgiving to New Years!

I decided to start off with a Christmas card! I used the Christmas Solutions cartridge - it is retired, but a great cartridge if you have it or can get your hands on it! I cut the bell out with the shadow layers, inked the edges with black ink, and covered it with Glossy Accents and Martha Stewart chunky glitter. The bow I cut out and covered with flocking - LOVE how fuzzy and cozy it came out! The frame for the sentiment is cut out from Sophisticated, and also inked before stamping the sentiment. Finished off with some crinkle ribbon, a button, and some jute cord on the bow, and then added some corners that were punched with a Fiskars corner punch.

I am also linking this up to the newest challenge in the Moxie Fab World - Textured to Perfection. That flocked ribbon just has the softest texture! It just makes me want to touch it!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend - and don't forget free shipping from today until the October 16th on any purchase from Scrappy Moms Stamps! Great time to shop if you have been waiting!

A Special Birthday Cake!

This weekend, I had a sick day at home, where I didn't feel like doing much, but fortunately didn't feel too sick to craft! Since our pastor's wife had a birthday next week, I thought it would be fun to make a super special project for her - to let her know how special she is to us all! My kids had fun shopping for fun goodies to fill it with too!

I am also entering this in the Throwback Thursdays Challenge over at My Creative Time to use a retired cartridge, and Wacky Wednesdays over at More than Favors - Friendship. Additionally, I think it fits perfect with this weeks Fantabulous Cricut Challenge - Piece of Cake, and My Craft Spot's Gifts, Bags, and Boxes! Finally, the challenge over at Getting Cricky with K Andrews: treat containers or party theme items.

I used Tags, Bags, and Boxes to cut out the cake boxes. I wasn't sure how many it would take - when I started I was guessing about 6 - it ended up taking 9!

I added some lace around the outside edges with zip dry glue, and then a bit of Stickles for sparkle.

I stamped a tag I had in my stash with a couple of sentiments from My Creative Time stamps - including that cute musical note! Tied it one with some Baker's Twine, and some sheer blue ribbon.

The flowers and leaves were all cut from Mother's Day Bouquet. I coated the flowers with Glossy Accents and added some Martha Stewart coarse glitter. After they dried, I curled the edges, stacked and glued them, and added a button and some jute cort. The leaves I scored down the center, curled them a little, and outlined them a bit with a green copic marker.

It was such a fun project to make! I don't know if I will ever make one again, but I LOVE how this came out - so who knows? Hope you enjoyed!
