January 2019 Favorites and Giveaway

Good morning! The past couple years I have had so much fun looking back over the past year and sharing a recap of my favorites from each month - and it's time of year again! It's so fun to see how my style has changed or sometimes stayed the same throughout the year and to be reminded of techniques I haven't tried in a while either. It is also nice to have a little time to catch my breath and spend time with family, and spend a bit less time in the craft room - or at least spend time working ahead for a busy new year! :)

In January 2019, I had 47 posts (not counting last years favorites)!

I have posted links to the original post under each photo in case you missed it or would like more details! I am also going to box up some surprise goodie boxes filled with some gently used (and a few new) crafty goodies and pick a winner or two from any comments left on these 12 monthly recap posts (not each individual link from these posts!) - so if you're interested, make sure and leave a comment! I'm so grateful for each of you that has been part of this journey for me!

Sending Love - Technique Tuesday

Good morning! I'm back today to share a fun card using an previously released item that I hadn't had a chance to use yet, paired up with a couple new items from Technique Tuesday! All products from this January release are available at Technique Tuesday in the new product category HERE.

Today's card is super clean and simple, but I love the way the Paper Airplane on the Border Die works with this sentiment!

I used a simple blue and white color combo - with just a touch of black for the sentiment.

The sentiment is from Lots of Sentiments Stamp set, and die cut with the coordinating Oval & Rectangle Stitched Labels Dies - a bit of foam adhesive between layers adds the perfect touch of dimension to finish this off!

Product links are all below - including affiliate links where possible, which simply means that if you use one of the links below, I receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. Thanks so much for supporting my blog, and stopping by! Have a wonderful day!!!

That Really Stinks - Technique Tuesday Card

Good morning! I'm back today to share a fun card using some of the newest release from Technique Tuesday! All products from this January release are available at Technique Tuesday in the new product category HERE. Today I'm sharing some more cuteness with the adorable Sally and Sherman the Skunk stamp set!

I stamped and colored one of the skunks, then die cut with the coordinating dies. I stamped one of the hilarious sentiments from the set on a frame die cut from Essential Stitched Labels Dies - another new release.

The background was created by doing some ink blending with distress ink on watercolor cardstock, then misting a bit with water to help it blend and soften the edges a little. I also added some black splatters with my Pinkfresh Licorice Liquid Watercolors.

Finished off with a wiggly eye on the skunk (doesn't it up the cuteness factor a TON?!?!?) - and then mounted the image and sentiment with foam adhesive on my background!

COUPON CODE:
I also have a special coupon code to share with you - this coupon is good from February 15-17 on all products in the Thank You Category HERE! My coupon code is THXHEATHER!

Technique Tuesday February Release Hop Day 2

Good morning! Welcome to the second day of the new release blog hop for Technique Tuesday! All products are now available at Technique Tuesday in the new product category HERE.

Today I'm using the beautiful new Kind Cosmo stamp set - colored up very simply with Copic markers, then die cut with the coordinating Kind Cosmo Crafting Dies.

I used the positive frame from yesterday's card from Essential Stitched Labels Crafting Die, and did a bit of ink blending in the bottom corner before stamping my sentiment and mounting my flowers with foam adhesive over the top.

I used a We R Memory Keepers Embossing folder to add some texture to the white background, trimmed it a bit smaller than my bold pink cardbase, tied some twine around the entire card, then mounted my framed florals over the top with more foam adhesive!

Technique Tuesday February Release Hop Day 1

Good morning! Welcome to the first day of the new release blog hop for Technique Tuesday! All products are now available at Technique Tuesday in the new product category HERE. Today I'm combining a few of the new sets to create this fun little card featuring the cutest skunks you ever saw!

I started off by cutting the largest frame from Essential Stitched Labels Crafting Dies from a panel of white cardstock - then I kept that for another use, and used the negative to back with some pretty plaid pattern paper from an older pad in my stash. I linked a pad below by the same designer, but a newer set of designs.

Next, I colored up the two cute skunks from Sally and Sherman the Skunks stamp set. I also stamped one of the sentiments from the set on a panel die cut with Oval & Rectangle Stitched Labels Dies.

Finally, I mounted the skunks and sentiment panel with foam adhesive, and the other smaller elements directly on the card. This gives just a bit of dimension. I finished off by mounting that panel on a soft gray cardbase. I love the neutral colors with a pop of bright red!

Beautiful Day Narcissus - Technique Tuesday

Good morning! I'm popping by this morning to share a card I made a little while back with a couple of the newest Technique Tuesday stamps and dies!

I used the appropriately named Beautiful Narcissus Stamp Set, and die cut it with the coordinating dies after coloring it up with Copic markers in nice soft and simple colors.

I tore the edges from a panel of white cardstock to give it a handmade paper look, stamped my sentiment on it, and mounted it with foam on a kraft card base. Finally, I mounted my colored florals - also with foam adhesive!

Bear-y Best Birthday - Technique Tuesday

Good morning! I'm popping by this morning to share a card I made a little while back with a couple of the newest Technique Tuesday stamps and dies!

This little card ended up being nearly one layer. I started off by stamping the bear from the new Bobbi the Bear, and then stamping him again on masking paper, carefully fussy cutting out, then attaching over the top of the bear on my card base so I could add some ink blending behind him! I also used some tape along the bottom to mask a "ground" and added some white paint splatters before removing my mask.

I added just a touch of color to the bear with pink and gray Copic markers, then stamped, colored, and fussy cut out the gift from Love is in the Air to mount with foam so it looks like the bear is holding the gift. Finished off with that perfect sentiment stamped underneath!

Technique Tuesday January Release Day Hop

{{{If you're looking for my Seasons Giving Blog Hop and Giveaway post click HERE, or scroll back to find the post!}}}

Good morning! Welcome to the new release blog hop for Technique Tuesday! All products are now available at Technique Tuesday. I'm sharing a fun card today featuring the new Love is in the Air Stamp set and Sending Love dies!

For my card, I stamped the hot air balloon, colored with simple Copic markers, and fussy cut the image out, since there are not coordinating dies for this stamp set. I then popped it up on an action wobble to create a fun interactive card!

I added the die cut word "love", and did some masking to stamp the rest of the sentiment. I also added a little border from Decorative Dividers Dies - a super versatile and fun little die set. Finally, I stamped several of the hearts directly on the card base, and colored with coordinating Copic colors. I also added Glossy Accents to the "love", little background hearts, and the scallop and hearts on the hot air balloon. This is such a fun way to add a bit of shine and dimension to a card.

Here is a peek at this card in action:

And here you can see the shine from the Glossy Accents a bit better as well:
