A Little Holiday Magic - Tim Holtz Festive Finishes Release

Hello! Today I'm excited to be sharing a card featuring some fun new supplies from the BRAND NEW Tim Holtz Festive Finishes Release available at Simon Says Stamp NOW! It has all the sparkle you need to celebrate the season - and beyond into next year. I mean, what season DOESN'T need a little sparkle, right? I have a festive little row of trees that uses ALL 3 sizes of glitter available in the amazing large size, and they are all adhered with the fabulous new Collage Glue!

I started off by die cutting one of the Simple Trees dies 3 times from white cardstock, and 3 times from Espresso cardstock. I used Pearfection ink directly on the white ones to ink them up really well, holding onto the trunk of each one as a grabbing place. I continued using the trunk to hold onto, and spread some of the new Collage Glue on each one with my finger, then sprinkled on the newly available Mica Flakes on one, and the Rock Candy Chunky and Rock Candy Clear on each of the others. After they dried a bit, I trimmed off the trunk, and adhered them onto the Espresso ones. I also die cut a bow for one of them from Lipstick cardstock, and adhered to the top. I have had that partial die cut circle of yellow cardstock on my desk for a while, and it felt like the perfect frame for this little trio, So I added some torn white glitter cardstock at the bottom, and tucked the trees into it like snow, and added the frame around. I carefully curved a sentiment from Iconic Christmas on my MISTI so I could stamp it at the top of the circle for fun! Finished off with some Clear Dazzling Gems for even more sparkle! Embossing Folder with Die Cut Bells - Simon Says Stamp

Hello! Popping in with a card to share using a fun mix of products in a different way than I usually do! I saw this amazing die set that recently released from Simon Says Stamp, and thought it would be fun to add some texture with an embossing folder. I LOVE how it turned out! 

 

I started off by die cutting the Bells die from Cornflower, Sage, and Smoke cardstock, then I misted with water and ran through the Melbourne 3D embossing folder. I then cut the detail part from Moonstone glitter cardstock, and trimmed a couple extra strips to layer on the side of the card. I added everything to the card with foam adhesive. I added some Reverse Christmastime sentiment strips, some silver cord bows on top of each card, and finished off with a few Clear Dazzling gems to accent the bells! Festive Holiday Hymns - Tim Holtz October coordinating die release

Hello! I'm dropping in today to share another card using one of the dies sets that are featured as part of the new sets available exclusively at Simon Says Stamp to coordinate with older Tim Holtz stamp sets! These new dies are a game changer if you love these rubber stamp sets, and it has been so fun to see SSS gradually roll these out. I love the detail you can achieve with coordinating dies, versus fussy cutting - not to mention how much easier it is! The Tiny Text die released earlier this year, but we wanted to call attention to it, since it coordinates with the Tiny Text Christmas stamp, and this last release was focusing on all things Christmas! This die is one of my very favorites - I use it for tons of other sentiments. There are so many options, that I'm easily able to find one to fit all those slim sentiments in various stamp sets! And how fun it is it to use LOTS of them all on one card?!?

For this card, I chose lots of sentiments from the Tiny Text Christmas set, that were lines from favorite Christmas hymns and songs. I stamped them all out, then die cut with the corresponding Tiny Text die that matched up with each one. For the background, I pulled out the Department Store stamp set (which now also has a coordinating die available), and used the music note set to stamp a subtle background with Brick ink on Lipstick cardstock for a tone on tone effect. I matted that panel with some gold glitter cardstock, then added an additional strip of that same gold glitter to the center of the card, hand trimmed to a banner shape. I popped that up with foam adhesive, then glued each of the sentiment banners over top in a wonky pattern with a bit of liquid glue. Finishing touch was a few Pinkfresh Gold Glitter Drops tucked around in little clusters of 3 for extra sparkle! Here's a closer look at the finished card:

Homespun Wreath - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! Today I've got a cozy card with tons of texture to share with you! I'm using a recently released set from Simon Says Stamp, paired with various supplies and previously released sets. That handmade paper is the star of the show as far as I'm concerned!

I started off by die cutting the Leafy Wreath dies main layer from white cardstock, to use as my base for layering up the rest. I also cut several of the flowers from Apricot cardstock to layer up next. I used Detail Leafy Wreath die to cut the outline from Espresso cardstock, then again from Seashell cardstock to puzzle piece into each section of the layer. I carefully glued everything together - it took a while, but the results are so worth it! I added a bow using the Beautiful Bows embossing folder and die combo, cut from Espresso cardstock. I cut one of the Sparkler Scallop Frames from Sage cardstock to use as the base layer on my white cardbase, then tore the edges of some Handmade Paper to set inside that. Popped the wreath up with foam adhesive, added a sentiment from Bountiful Blessings, and finished off with a few Clear Dazzling Gems for sparkle! Rustic Wood Holiday Wall Art - Tim Holtz October coordinating die release

Good morning! I'm dropping in today to share a fun holiday decor project using one of the dies that just released exclusively at Simon Says Stamp to coordinate with an older Tim Holtz stamp set! These new dies are a game changer if you love these rubber stamp sets, and it has been so fun to see SSS gradually roll these out. I love the detail you can achieve with coordinating dies, versus fussy cutting - not to mention how much easier it is! This particular stamp set is so fun for a faux watercolor look, and being able to die cut makes all the layering possibilities so much more fun!

I started off by creating all of my "watercolor" elements using the appropriately named Winter Watercolors set. I inked up each image with various colors of distress inks (Candied Apple, Fired Brick, Fossilized Amber, Evergreen Bough, Pine Needles, and Gathered Twigs), then misted it with water before stamping onto watercolor paper. Once I had lots of them stamped and had given them time to dry, I die cut them all out to allow for easy layering. I grabbed some Crafter's Companion Basswood to use as my base for the project. I ink blended around the edges with Gathered Twigs distress ink, then swiped my Ground Espresso distress ink pad directly over the edges, swiping in slightly. This gave additional texture to the wood. I also added some black splatter over the top. Once that dried, I arranged all the floral pieces, adhering in place with liquid glue. I stamped and heat embossed a bird and a sentiment from the Festive Overlay set, one in white on black cardstock, one stamped in black and clear heat embossed. The bird I blended some ink around the edges to soften the white color and make it blend in to my project better. I tucked those on, adhering with foam adhesive and liquid glue to hold it in place securely. I grabbed another piece of that wood and sandwiched a piece of white ribbon between the two pieces to created something to hang it up with, then finished off with some Collage Medium applied to lots of little places, then sprinkled Chunky Rock Candy glitter over it. This gave it a lovely bit of sparkle! Here are lots more photos of the finished piece:

Cozy Fall Corner - Simon Says Stamp

Hello! Today I've got a soft and dreamy card to share that celebrates the cozy feeling of fall! I used some recently released items from Simon Says Stamp that were waiting to get put to use, and had fun with heat embossing, ink blending, and layering!

I created the background first, using the Harvest Acorns embossing folder on white cardstock, then swiping my Buttercream ink pad directly over the surface of the debossed side - this gives a lovely reverse image, and I love the soft and creamy tone of the Buttercream ink! Next, I heat embossed several images from the Bountiful Blessings set in clear on white cardstock, then ink blended over the top with Sherbet, Field, and Cappuccino inks to make the heat embossed lines magically appear, since they resist the ink. It's a fun and quick way to add color to these images! I tucked a doily around the embossed panel after trimming it down, then adhered that to my white cardbase on the lower right corner. I arranged my images on top with foam adhesive, then popped a sentiment up over the top. Finished off by tying some twine bows around the pumpkin stems, then a hearty sprinkle of Dazzling Gems in Mandarin, Sprout, Gold, and Butter! Here are more photos of the finished card:

Serene Gray and Gold Card - Tim Holtz October coordinating die release

Hello! I'm dropping in today to share a card using one of the dies that just released exclusively at Simon Says Stamp to coordinate with an older Tim Holtz stamp set! These new dies are a game changer if you love these rubber stamp sets, and it has been so fun to see SSS gradually roll these out. I love the detail you can achieve with coordinating dies, versus fussy cutting - not to mention how much easier it is! Today's card is an serene and elegant color combo, and I just love how it turned out. Who knew how pretty gray, gold, and white are all together?!?

I started off by stamping and heat embossing one of the Sketch Greenery stems in white on Steel cardstock. As I die cut them out and set them on my leftover paper, I realized how pretty they were stacked tone on tone! So I trimmed down a panel of that same cardstock to tuck them around. Before adhering them down, I wrapped some May Arts gold cord around the panel, and tied it behind, taping in place. I added the greenery pieces with foam squares, trimming off any overhang, then mounted that panel with more foam on a white cardbase. I heat embossed a sentiment from the same set in gold on more of that same color of cardstock, die cut, and adhered with more foam. Finished off with just a few Metallic Gold pearl trios tucked around the sentiment! Here's a closer look at the final card:
