February 2019 Favorites and Giveaway

Good morning! The past couple years I have had so much fun looking back over the past year and sharing a recap of my favorites from each month - and it's time of year again! It's so fun to see how my style has changed or sometimes stayed the same throughout the year and to be reminded of techniques I haven't tried in a while either. It is also nice to have a little time to catch my breath and spend time with family, and spend a bit less time in the craft room - or at least spend time working ahead for a busy new year! :)

In February 2019, I had 39 posts on my blog here!

I have posted links to the original post under each photo in case you missed it or would like more details! I am also going to box up some surprise goodie boxes filled with some gently used (and a few new) crafty goodies and pick a winner or two from any comments left on these 12 monthly recap posts (not each individual link from these posts!) - so if you're interested, make sure and leave a comment! I'm so grateful for each of you that has been part of this journey for me!

Pretend You Love It Card

Good morning - and Merry Christmas Eve! Just stopping by today to share this little Christmas card - it actually posted on my YouTube channel a few weeks ago, but never made it to a blog post...so I figured I better share it before Christmas!

Here is the video - or you can watch it on my YouTube channel HERE:

This uses a couple of recently released items from Unity Stamp Company that were just so fun! I thought they paired up so well together!

I used some older pattern paper from my stash to create some fun layers - one of my favorite ways to bust out some of that pattern paper stash.

And my favorite jute string makes a perfect finishing bow along the side!

Fruitastic Card Set - Pinkfresh Facebook Live Cards

Good morning! Yesterday was our weekly Pinkfresh Studio Facebook Live - postponed to Friday instead of the normal Thursday this time - so I'm also a bit late to post the rest of this here on my blog! If you missed the Live video and want to take a peek, you can find it on the Pinkfresh Facebook Page - yesterday's video is available HERE. As always, there was one giveaway for someone who watched live, so make sure and pop in each week to win that live giveaway - 10 AM Pacific time on Thursday morning! We are taking next week off for Christmas, so the next Facebook Live will be on January 2nd!

I also always try to post info here the next day on the card we make - for those that aren't on Facebook or maybe didn't see it over there. This week I have this set of cards that I made in advance of the Live, and then at the bottom I have some photos of the cards we made Live, since we changed up the colors and sort of last minute decided to do some "rock and roll" technique - go watch the video on rewatch for the best explanation of how they came out!

These cards all use one of the clearance stamp sets - making room for new things coming next month! You can check out the sale section HERE! The set we used is called Fruitastic - we also paired it up with one of the newest Essentials Releases, Essentials Radiating Background 1.

Here is a closer look at each of the original cards I made - for the strawberries I used Passion Fruit and Aquamarine ink:

The oranges used Apricot and Olive:

The lemons used Lemon Whip and Olive:

The pears used Fresh Pear and Storm:

And the apples used Berrylicious and Grassy Knoll:

For each of them I added some splatters using Licorice Liquid Watercolors!

Here is a look at the ones we made Live - we turned the lemons into limes for the first one, and used Key Lime, Olive, and Storm inks:

Next up, we did the apples using a mix of Fresh Pear, Passion Fruit, and Olive:

Then we moved onto the pears and used Marigold, Warm Buff, and Gathered Twig:

And finally, we turned the oranges into peaches! For these we used Ballet Slipper, Coral Reef, Peach Fuzz, Passion Fruit, Mint, and Fresh Pear!

Thanks for stopping by to see a closer look at ALL these many cards!

Tidings of Comfort and Joy - Memory Box Stamps and Dies

Good morning! A while back I received some beautiful Memory Box dies to play with - and then life got crazy, and I had to work on other stuff first. But earlier this week, I was able to pull them out and have some fun - I loved layering different dies and stamped sentiments together for these two cards!

If you have visiting my blog much before, you know I love two for one card designs - and these dies are perfect for that! Since I wanted to alternate the colors, I could just reverse the colors to make a second card, with no additional die cutting require, and best of all - no waste!

For both of these cards, I used Slate cardstock and white cardstock to die cut both the Drop Nativity die set and Winter Tree Oval frame (just using the main outer frame). I traced around the oval die on a piece of scrap paper, then cut inside the tracing lines and used that panel to adhere the outer frame and the inner oval together. Then pieced together the nativity over the top of that.

Sentiment on both of these cards is from the gorgeous Tidings Wreath stamp set - which I also can't wait to ink up and use on it's own! I heat embossed it on the gray cardstock version, then stamped simply in black on white cardstock for the other one, and mounted those with a bit of foam adhesive over the top of the nativity.

Finally, I punched a hole int he top and used that to tie a bit of sheer white ribbon in a bow at the top to make them look like tags, then adhered them over some older pattern paper from my stash that I first added some white splatters to for a bit of a more festive touch.

CAS Snowflake Notecard - Simon Says Stamp January Card Kit

Good morning! I'm stopping by to share another card created with the BRAND NEW January Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - Snowflake Builder! This kit is SOOO wintry and fun - the included large stamp set by the same name is so unique, the pattern paper is GORGEOUS, the sweet Mini Snowflake Mandala die is lovely - not to mention Mica FlakesCollage Medium, Alcohol Ink, Glitter Cardstock, Envelopes, and more!

Last month I decided to try filming a video for my cards using the monthly card kits - I had such a great response, that I thought I may go ahead and do it again this month, and perhaps continue as time allows. I've posted the video for this card on my YouTube channel HERE, and also below so you can watch either place you prefer. :)

Here is the video sharing how I put this card together using this month's kit:

For this card I wanted to step out of the norm of the colors in the kit - and make a super simple one layer card, perfect for mailing!

I masked off a square on a white cardbase, and blended three different colors of Distress Oxide inks over the panel, then added some Perfect Pearl and White Paint splatters.

Once that dried slightly, I stamped that beautiful snowflake stamp over the panel - I stamped both parts of the snowflake image. While they are fun to stamp in different colors to build your own snowflake, it is also fun to stamp them both in black. I also stamped the sentiment underneath as well.

Here is a closer look at the entire kit contents - you can find all the details HERE:
