Sending Birthday Hugs - Pink

Good morning! Just dropping by this morning to share a card I made by special request last week - a friend wanted me to remake THIS card - but using pinks and reds instead. Here is the updated version:

Same steps as the last card - heat embossed that lovely Altenew flower on watercolor paper in white, colored in, then very carefully fussy cut it out. Heat embossed the sentiment on the pink panel, then adhered the flower with a bit of strong adhesive in the center, leaving the edges to curl up.

Runway Inspired - Magnolia Birthday Hugs

Hello! Back again today with a card for the brand new Runway Inspired challenge - this time sponsored by no other than Altenew!

Here is our new challenge inspiration photo:

Once again - those Altenew flowers just cry out to be watercolored - I can't help it! I heat embossed this one in white on watercolor paper, colored with watercolors, let dry, then very carefully fussy cut it out. Added some layers with a Mama Elephant die, and heat embossed sentiment from another Altenew set. I attached the flower just by adding a bit of strong adhesive to the center, and leaving the edges to curl up. I can't get over how amazingly realistic these flowers look! I love them!

Hello - Just Saying

Good afternoon! Just dropping by with a card I managed to squeeze in on this nice long holiday weekend - just for fun, and to play along with a challenge! Not very often I have time for things like that, so this was super fun!

I made this to play along with Altenew's November Challenge - From the Craft Room:

I pulled mostly the color inspiration, but also the kraft element and white dots. I stamped just one layer of a couple of the roses from Vintage Roses (one of my favorite Altenew sets!), and also added a single layer of a couple leaves. Added the sentiment from Super Script (love that font!) I added some distress ink to soften the edges, used my Tim Holtz distress tool to rough them up a bit, then added some machine stitching. Finished by adding a linen texture with a PI Impression Plate, then by mixing some white paint with a little water in a Mini Mister, and added a few flicks over the flowers (a little hard to see in the photo as well!) Adhered with foam over my kraft card base, then used a white gel pen to add some interest to the sentiment to tie it together.
