Happy happy HAPPY Birthday - STAMPtember Release

Hello! And HAPPY STAMPtember - a month long party by Simon Says Stamp to celebrate all things stamping. I have a first card to share with you using a couple items from the brand new exclusive Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Release - you can find it all HERE!

For this card, I combined two different items - Slimline Greetings (on a non-slimline card for fun!) and Deco Squares Stencil. I tried to keep the design and colors more neutral and masculine. Can you see the stencil in action in this closer shot?

I stamped ALL of the "Happy" words on watercolor paper, and birthday at the bottom. I used watercolor friendly ink and my MISTI to get nice crisp impressions on the watercolor paper.

Then, I colored in each of the open letters. I love how the letters overlap and let the colors mix. I used my Daniel Smith watercolors to do this. Then I watered down the same colors to lightly color around the letters for a soft background wash of color.

Added some interest to the background by stenciling with embossing paste through the new Deco Squares stencil, being careful to avoid covering any of the letters. Once that dried, I trimmed the panel down, and mounted it onto a white cardbase.

I am here You are there - Simon Says Stamp September 2020 Card Kit

Good morning! I'm dropping by with one more card created with the SOLD OUT September Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - Just Miss You! Fortunately, this card focuses on the stamp set more than anything, which is still available separately of course!

If you were lucky enough to get this kit, it is SOOO fun for sending some love to all the people in our lives that we miss hanging out with in person! The included stamp set by the same name has so many fun sentiments to combine, and a couple of cute images to play with. There are the CUTEST little mini card/envelope combos, some fabulous pattern paper,  beautiful sequins - not to mention the Cardstock, envelopes, and more!

For this card, I mostly used the fun Just Miss You stamp set in the kit, with some colored inks, a bit of masking, and layering sentiments to create this fun graphic scene.

I used red and aqua for my color combo - one of my very favorites! And added a few sequins from the sequins included in the Smiles sequin mix in the kit.

Here is a closer look at the entire kit contents - you can find all the details HERE:

Rainbow Hexagons - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! Super excited to share this card today - I shared a little sneak peek of it on Instagram the other night when I was working on it - and was so happy with the finished results on this one! I used a gorgeous stamp set from Simon Says Stamp to create this card - keep reading for more details!

I started off by heat embossing the beautiful Center Cut Hexagon Floral stamp set on white cardstock with clear embossing powder. I popped out the center one to leave a focal point for my sentiment.

Next, I stamped that center one on a scrap of white cardstock, carefully fussy cut it out, then from the back of the negative piece, taped the cut that I made to get into it to cut it out. Now I effectively had a stencil to add color to each individual hexagon on my background!

I moved around and blended a rainbow of distress inks over each hexagon using my Life Changing blender brushes. I intentionally blended darker around the outer edge and left a lighter area in the center for a bit of a halo effect.

I added my sentiment with foam adhesive using CZ Design Reverse Sentiment Strips Miss You (LOVE that sentiment!), and added a tiny additional sentiment (fitting for 2020) using the Let's Connect stamp set. Finished off with a few Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh - and this bright happy card was finished!

Pinkfresh Studio August 2020 Stamp and Die Release Blog Hop

Good morning! Today is an amazing blog hop to celebrate Pinkfresh Studio's August 2020 Stamp and Die Release! You aren't going to want to miss a stop along the way - TONS of inspiration and prizes up for grabs! YAY! You also might want to pop over to the Pinkfresh Studio Facebook Page at 11 AM Pacific Time this morning (NOTE - this is an hour later than normal time) - I will be going LIVE featuring some of the new releases and there will be a gift certificate up for grabs as well!

You can also receive free shipping on any order of $50 or more through August 20th - so a great time to pick up anything you have your eye on!

I have SOOO many cards to share with you...so be warned - there are lots of pictures ahead of you!

This first card might be my favorite - I just LOVE the color combo! It was so fun stamping out the lovely floral circle from Every Good Thing using these fun happy colors.

It made me think of a topiary ball - so I mounted it with foam on a white panel with some gold splatters, and tied some jute string down from the top of the panel and in a bow at the top of the floral circle to mimic the look of hanging down.

I created the sentiment by using the new die and stamp sets...that are named after me! Eeek!!! The Heather stamp and die sets in upper and lower case are so super fun - I die cut them from white and gold cardstock, and then stamped the letters on them using the coordinating dies, and two colors of ink blended together for an ombre effect.

I layered them together and then mounted with foam tape, and stamped a supporting sentiment underneath - and finished off with a few jewels.

Next up, instead of a card, I have a tag to share with you - actually, a SHAKER tag!

The size of these tag dies are SOO fun! Perfect for filling a card front, making shaped cards, mini albums, or just large tags like this with plenty of room to embellish! And the way they are designed also gives them several elements to be used to create shaker windows with the tags, or just use the shaker windows on your card fronts. So many possibilities!

I embellished the front of this with the gorgeous Charming Floral Wreath stamp set - I stamped both the solid and layered portion on the die cut piece, and also on a tag of white cardstock. I then cut just the center of the one on the tag and used that to create my shaker window.

Blended a bit of Mint ink behind the bottom of the window to help the solid images pop a bit - and filled it with sparkly pink Crystals. I layered the second one over with foam adhesive to add some depth and dimension to the front of the tag, added a few pink splatters with Ballet Slipper and Coral Reef dye ink - and stamped a sentiment at the bottom.

Switching gears back to another card - this time I'm going with a bolder and brighter color combo!

I started off by stamping all the gorgeous layers of the Color Block Gradiating Stripes - a new addition to the Pop Out stamps! I used lots of pretty Pinkfresh Dye inks to stamp the stripes, then trimmed the panel down a bit to fit on a Stitched Rectangle die cut from white.

I stamped out the beautiful layers of the Sending Love and Hugs and die cut it, layering it over the striped panel with a bit of vellum in between to soften the color and help it pop up a bit.

I added a few white paint splatters, a heat embossed sentiment, and a few white Jewels to finish this one off.

And next up, I played with another gorgeous floral image!

For this one, I stamped that lovely large floral with Detail Black ink on watercolor paper and colored it with my Karin Markers. I feel like I am finally getting the hang of those a bit!

I used Diamond Tiles to stamp the background, and added gold splatters over the front and over the flowers to add some glam and glitz.

Some layers of cardstock, a heat embossed sentiment, and a few different tones of jewels finish this card off!

I feel like I am constantly learning to embrace imperfection in my watercolors - it always seems to make it better, don't you think?

And finally, one bonus little card for this release. I have actually had this one sitting in my stack with all those lovely glittery rainbow layers, just waiting for the perfect finishing sentiment!

I love this soft monochrome rainbow - I had used the outline for another card during the last release, and couldn't stand wasting these pieces, so I mounted them with foam on a white cardbase and set them aside until now.

I added the sentiment on this from the new You Can Change the World stamp set in Rocky Slopes dye ink.

A simple rounded corner and a few jewels finish this card off!

Smiles across the Miles - Simon Says Stamp September 2020 Card Kit

Good morning! I'm dropping by with another card created with the September Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - Just Miss You! This kit is SOOO fun for sending some love to all the people in our lives that we miss hanging out with in person! The included stamp set by the same name has so many fun sentiments to combine, and a couple of cute images to play with. There are the CUTEST little mini card/envelope combos, some fabulous pattern paperbeautiful sequins - not to mention the Cardstock, envelopes, and more!

Today's card was SOOO super easy thanks to some of that fabulous pattern paper!

I just loved this piece of paper, and knew I needed to feature it prominently on a card - isn't it gorgeous? I trimmed it down and mounted it to mostly cover my card front, then die cut both layers of the Sending Smiles Die - the shadow from white, and the detail 2 times from black cardstock to layer together for a touch of extra dimension. I mounted that with foam adhesive over the intersection of the pattern paper with the white card front.

Finished off with a supporting sentiment heat embossed on a bit of black cardstock, and some of the perfectly coordinating Smiles Sequins included in the kit!
