Foiled Thankful Leaf Duo - Simon Says Stamp November Card Kit

Hello! I'm back to share a couple more cards using the BRAND NEW (well...at least still fairly new!) November 2022 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - Full of Thanks! This month's kit is perfect for fall, and perfect for the cards this season always makes me think of - thank you cards! The included stamp set by the same name has some cute fall images with some great sentiments - and also has coordinating stencils for coloring! There are also some fun foil options (I'm sharing cards with those today!), low tack tapeadorable little scissors...that's all not to mention the cardstock, envelopes, and more!

Today I'm sharing a little card duo using the fun foil options in the kit - they made for some super simple and easy card designs that also have some sparkly fun foil effects!

For both these cards I used the fun Fall Leaf Adhesive Transfers in the kit. They adhere to your cardstock just with the pressure of going through a die cut machine, then you add your foil, and run them through again to adhere the foil. You can use a laminator, but since you don't have to, I skipped it on my cards, and love the finished effect!

So hard to see in the photos, but for this card I used Pewter for the leaf, and Gold for the sentiment. I trimmed both panels down, and popped up with foam on a panel of Kraft Woodgrain cardstock to add to the rustic feel.

For this second card - again hard to see in the photos! - I used Copper foil for the leaf, and gold once again for the sentiment. I also embellished both cards with Pinkfresh Butterscotch Glitter Drops for a touch of extra sparkle.

Here is a closer look at the entire kit contents - you can see it all HERE:

Shimmer Powders and Die Cutting - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! Dropping by today with a couple more cards with another attempt at using shimmer powders from Tonic! I paired them up with some Simon Says Stamp dies - and combined them with a few other items from the Tonic Studios spring release that I was sent as part of my work with Simon Says Stamp with no obligation to use or share - I did an Instagram Live recently as I opened and looked through all the fun items in the box. But it was very easy to use and love these fun products, so I'm excited to share these two additional cards here today!

For these cards, I used two different colors of shimmer powders - Atlantis Burst and Violet Brocade, and simply created bold backgrounds on watercolor paper as I was playing. I didn't really like the way they turned out at first - just felt like I had added too much of the shimmer power. But then...I decided to try and die cut them - and boy am I glad! They were perfect for this! I die cut them with Simon Says Stamp's Lotus Frame Wafer Die, punched the pieces out of each one, and then reversed the pieces so that I paired the negative with the positive and the other way around. I added some plain cardstock and adhesive to the back to fit them all into place.

Next, I wanted to coordinate the sentiments, so I die cut both layers of the Big Friend word die from white cardstock, and had some fun with embossing powders! I basically smooshed the narrower version of the word in embossing ink, then sprinkled on Tonic Crushed Mulberry Embossing Powder, held it with my tweezers, and heat set. This produced a super pretty and metallic effect!

Instead of adding the dot to the "i" in friend (which would have been tough to heat emboss I imagine!) - I added a dot of Pink Orchid Crystal Nuvo Drops - perfect and easy!

For this second version, I did the same thing, but this time used Tonic Ocean Sparkle Embossing Powder, which gave a lovely and glittery effect! I added the dot on the "i" with Calming Aqua Crystal Nuvo Drops.

For both cards I added on a simple sentiment from Messages for Everyday, heat embossed in white on a thin strip of black cardstock.

It may be a bit difficult to see in the photos - but I also added some Tonic Crystal Glaze to each of the centers of the floral images on the Lotus Frame Die - it was the perfect touch to help them just POP a bit more! LOVE the shine that you get from that! I finished off by mounting everything on cardbases created with Simon Says Stamp White Woodgrain Cardstock for a bit more texture.

Have you tried shimmer powders yet? Would love to hear if you've already tried them or would love to eventually!

SSS Floral Love

Good morning! With taking a vacation over the holiday season, I felt like I didn't get as much time to play with the latest Simon Says Stamp release, You Have My Heart as I wanted to. So, once I was home and had a bit of free time, I knew I wanted to pull it out and play with it a bit more - here is what I made!

I am also linking this up with the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Something New (first time using the SSS white pigment ink - and I LOVE it!!!):

Also linking up with the Simon Says Monday Challenge - Something New (as above!):

I started off with the new Roses for You stamp set, stamped with white pigment ink on kraft cardstock to create a background. I cut a piece of lace trim in half, then machine stitched it to the edges, and attached to the woodgrain background, along with a torn strip of vellum.

The Love word die I cut once from white foam, and once from wood veneer paper. This made a lovely 3D embellishment! Finished off with a few sparkling clear Pretty Pink Posh sequins!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Supplies are linked below - have a wonderful day!
