Unicorn Birthday Wishes

Good morning! I'm up on the My Craft Spot Blog sharing a fun little birthday card I made recently for a local friend for her grandaughter's birthday:

I LOVE how I can always find the perfect birthday sentiment in my stash of stamps from My Craft Spot! For this card I used Birthday Wishes:

I used some nice and bright American Crafts pattern paper from an older 6x6 paper pad, and my Silhouette Cameo to cut a round shape card, and that fun unicorn silhouette.

Added some embossing to the front, a circle cut with my Lil' Inker's stitched circles dies, and a bit of machine stitching to one of the layers. Attached each layer with foam adhesive for lots of fun dimension.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!!!

Newton's Nook Guest Design Final Post

Good morning! Excited this morning to be sharing my final post for my guest design month with Newton's Nook. Most of my cards for the release I found ways to use the images without coloring them in, so for my post today, I thought it would be fun to actually color some of the images in! Here is my first one, using my favorite set from the release:

For this card, I used the darling Holiday Hounds set:

I colored it in with Copics, fussy cut it out, and then adhered with foam adhesive on my white panel over the sentiment. Distressed the edges a bit with Tim Holtz distress ink, then added some jute twine, and finished off with some fun October Afternoon pattern papers.

And then I had to color another one!

For this one, I used the set called Winston's Home For Christmas:

I colored him on a panel cut with an Avery Elle die, added a wrap of yellow jute twine behind, and some pattern papers from My Mind's Eye.

Thanks for stopping by today - and thanks so much to Jennifer at Newton's Nook Designs for having me this month! I enjoyed every minute of it! Have a wonderful day!

I decided to use one of my favorite new sets from the release again today to make a chalkboard inspired card:

I had so much fun with this card! I started off by cutting the deer out with my Silhouette Cameo, then using the negative as a stencil to apply embossing paste to my chalkboard paper. Once that dried, I stamped and heat embossed my sentiment, then added some smudges of white pigment ink. Added a bow using Cherry Red Traditional Baker's Twine, and a few gold sequins from the Metallic sequin mix. I distressed the edges with my Tim Holtz distress tool, then mounted it on a rustic wood background paper from an MME paper pad. LOVE the effect of this!

MCS - Christmas Release - Day 5

Good morning! Welcome to the last day of sneak peeks for the new release at My Craft Spot - and this time it's all about Christmas! So many fun sets - today we are sharing sneak peeks of what is probably absolute FAVORITE set from this release - " Merry and Bright" - absolutely FULL of fun and adorable sentiments!

This is the first one that I saw when I received this stamp set - and it was LOVE at first sight! SOOOO cute, right?!?!?!?

Each part of this card has a meaning and a purpose and reason! I started off with a green card base (like the Grinch!), and added some washi tape to the bottom (gold for all the fun decorations in the Grinch, as well as a bit of red, because - his hat and coat!), as well as a bit of white Studio Calico mist (like snow!). I stamped my sentiment on some white cardstock, rounded the top corners, and added a speech part to the bottom with a Lawn Fawn die. Finished off with some red enamel hearts (because his heart grew 3 sizes that day!). Oh...this card just makes me entirely and completely happy!

MCS - Christmas Release - Day 4

Good morning! Welcome to day 4 of the new release My Craft Spot - and this time it's all about Christmas! So many fun sets - today we are sharing sneak peeks of "Christmas Chalkboard Sentiments" stamp set.

Aside from using the chalkboard sets for the obvious chalkboard technique, I really love heat embossing them in white on vellum - and I love the color combo of white, kraft, and red for Christmas!

I started off by stamping each of the four tiny snowflakes included in this set several times on a panel of kraft cardstock, then heat embossed my sentiment on vellum and attached them with some machine stitching. I used some fun red polka dot paper from MME for my background, and cut some little doilies using Tiny Doilies 2 Metal Dies to tuck behind the front panel. Finished off with some snowflakes from the Snow Flurries sequin pack

MCS - Christmas Release - Day 3

Good morning! Welcome to day 3 of the new release My Craft Spot - and this time it's all about Christmas! So many fun sets - today we are sharing sneak peeks of "Tiny Tags - Christmas."

The first thing to catch my eye was this fun little star with the word "merry" under it - a perfect little rustic and fun image! Instead of stamping it on tags, I stamped it on a row of tickets cut with Tickets Metal Dies, then colored them in with my Copic markers.

I added some fun pattern paper from October Afternoon, a zig zag border cut with Fancy Edges 2 Metal Dies, and a wrap of some lovely May Arts ribbon that I think looks a little like burlap, but much softer with a more linen texture. Finished off with some Cherry Red Traditional Baker's Twine and a little red button.

Come What May Bunny Friends

Good afternoon! Just thought I would pop in with a card this afternoon, that I have actually had finished for a while, and just haven't sat down with time to blog it!

These were my first Mama Elephant goodies, and lets just say I am in love with them! SUPER darling! I used Femme Frames to cut out my front panels using some pattern paper by Crate Paper. I paper pieced the darling little bunnies from Honey Bunny, and die cut a banner from gray cardstock using Bold Banner, then stamped my sentiment from True Friend. Added a doily and a white cardstock circle, and a bit of foam adhesive between layers. Those bunnies just make me want to squeeze them!!!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful evening!

MCS - Christmas Release - Day 2

Good morning! Welcome to day 2 of the new release My Craft Spot - and this time it's all about Christmas! So many fun sets - today we are sharing sneak peeks of one of my favorites called "O Holy Night."

I still love watercolors so much - and these sentiments seemed perfect to pair up with a silhouette nativity scene, so I made a watercolor background for my card:

I started off stamping and heat embossing my sentiment, then created a background with watercolors - I went with non-traditional colors, since they reminded me of some of the beautiful Wyoming sunsets we have been enjoying and will miss very soon when we make our move! I cut the nativity scene with my Silhouette Cameo and glued it straight down. Also love that this is a one layer card!

MCS - Christmas Release - Day 1

Good morning! It's time for another release from My Craft Spot - and this time it's all about Christmas! So many fun sets - starting with today's called "Naughty or Nice."

I used today's to make these fun little treats for Christmas - they are actually super yummy, although rather rich, more like a candy! You can find the recipe for my "coal" HERE - basically a recipe for Rice Crispy Treats, but substitute crushed Oreos for the Rice Crispy Cereal!

I actually packaged them up in clear bags that I have for holding my cards - they worked perfectly! I stamped each sentiment from this set on frames that I cut using Ornate Labels Metal Dies. I added some distress ink to the edges to soften them a little.

Next, I wrapped up my packages with some Cranberry Crinkle Ribbon, and added some Natural Jute String as well.

Good morning! I'm super excited this month to be guest designing for Newton's Nook Designs - and this week I have the privilege of joining in with the new release! I am in love with all the darling images - and have been super impressed with the great quality. They stamp crisp and perfect every time! And...it's release day! So now is a great time to go shopping! ;-)

For today's card, I got to play with the smaller new set called Christmas Delivery:

I decided to play a little more with was to use the images, other than just coloring them in, so I stamped it on dark gray cardstock from Simon Says Stamp and heat embossed it in white, then added the image heat embossed in red. The front panel was cut with a Lil' Inker's stitched die, and I added some wonky machine stitching across the top, also attaching some sequins with it. Tucked a doily and some October Afternoon pattern paper behind it to finish off!

Here is the entire stamp set - so many possibilities with this one:

Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release - Day 3

Good morning! I'm super excited this month to be guest designing for Newton's Nook Designs - and this week I have the privilege of joining in with the new release! I am in love with all the darling images - and have been super impressed with the great quality. They stamp crisp and perfect every time!

For today's card, I got to play with the new set called Flaky Family:

I decided to build our family as a snow people, and instead of coloring them in with Copics (which I think would be DARLING!) - I used colored ink to stamp them all out! I think it is such a fun effect! I have one daughter that loves blue, and one that loves pink - so I did that to represent them. Added some MME pattern paper and some silver glitter washi tape to finish it off. Another flat and easy to mail card!
