I love unique color combinations for Holiday cards - and one of my favs is red and turquoise, with a touch of black thrown in for good measure as well...so I started there for my card today!

I love the way the new Merry Days Stamp set pairs up with the Merry Days Dies! So many different possibilities - but I decided to layer them together and use the cover die as a window to peek through and see all the fun images from the stamp set, heat embossed in gold on the white cardstock.

I die cut the Merry Days Die once from aqua cardstock, then two more times from white cardstock, layering them together for a nice dimensional embellishment. It's like adding a thin layer of foam adhesive, but much easier!

I layered one of the phrases from the new Classic Holiday Words Die set using red and black cardstock to make it really pop, and placed that over the front cover die. To help tie the extra color in, I stamped and heat embossed the bow from the new Season's Greetings stamp set in black on red cardstock, die cut with the Coordinating Dies, then added it to the top of the tree.

To finish tying all the colors together, I matted that front panel with a super thin strip of black cardstock, then some red, then mounted on an aqua card base. I also added a few sparkly jewels from Essentials: Jewels Mix to finish this card off! Can you see the dimension from the layered cover die?

And finally...here is a peek at the card we are going to be making on Facebook Live today - I hope you'll tune in and join me at 10 AM Pacific Time this morning! And if you don't have a Facebook account, feel free to check back here tomorrow, as I always try to post details on my blog the next day for Facebook Live cards. :)

I am Stronger - Simon Says Stamp October Card Kit

Good morning! I was out of the country when the October Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - Thankful Flowers released earlier this month - but was super excited to break it open and plan when I arrived home this past week! This is a GORGEOUS vintage-feeling kit - the included large stamp set by the same name is absolutely GORGEOUS, the pattern paper is so elegant, AND a pair of Tim Holtz Tonic Mini Craft Snips Scissors is included in the kit as well! Pair all that up with some lovely metallic and colored cardstock, envelopes, Bold Thanks word die, and gold foil letter stickers - and this is one fun kit!

Today I'm sharing my second card with this lovely kit - and using lots of different elements from the kit for this card!

I started off this card by heat embossing that lovely large floral image from the Thankful Heart stamp set in the kit on the Cream cardstock using Antique Gold embossing powder. I then carefully fussy cut it out using the Tim Holtz Tonic Mini Craft Snips Scissors - so nice and sharp and worked great for this!

I die cut some layers using Stitched Rectangles dies and some of the pattern paper from the kit, as well as more of the cream cardstock. I also die cut the Bold Thanks word die, once from some of the metallic cardstock in the kit, and two more times from the cream cardstock - layering them together for a dimensional word. Layered everything together, stamped the additional sentiment under the "Thanks", and adhered the flowers with foam adhesive to finish it all off!

Here is a closer look at the entire kit contents - you can find all the details HERE:

Isn't this floral image so pretty and intricate? I love it - even stamped and heat embossed with no coloring added!

You're Amazing - Simon Says Stamp October Card Kit

Today I'm sharing a card featuring some of that lovely pattern paper I was talking about!

I trimmed that lovely map background down to just slightly smaller than an A2 card - then used my MISTI to line up and stamp a series of sentiments from the Thankful Heart stamp set.

I adhered it on a cardbase that I created with Neenah Desert storm cardstock, then wrapped some jute twine from my stash around it and tied it in a simple knot. This kept it a bit less girly than a bow - and means it would work even for a masculine thank you card!

Here is a closer look at the entire kit contents - you can find all the details HERE:

Since I'm so late in the month, you may have already purchase or even received this kit! If you've already purchased this kit, I'd love to hear your favorite element or component in the kit!

Simon Says Stamp - Home Sweet Home

Good morning! Popping in today as we near the end of STAMPtember with a fun card combining a couple of different stamp sets from Simon Says Stamp - none of these are new releases this month, but I thought it was fun to combine two different previously released sets for this card that is completely stamped and has no die cutting on it at all!

I started off by using two different complimentary shades of Distress Oxide Ink - Stormy Sky and Faded Jeans - and my MISTI to stamp the solid house image from Home Sweet Home in an ombre look in the center of my white card front.

Next, I added some sentiments from the same set underneath the house in simple black ink.

I then pulled out my Beautiful Flowers stamp set, and stamped around the edges of the card a bit to add some framing around my focal point - great way to stretch your stamps too! It felt like it still needed a little something more, so I did some very simple masking of the stamped images, then added some black splatters with my Pinkfresh Licorice Liquid Watercolors, and used my Corner Chomper to round off one of the corners for a touch more interest.

Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Fall Watercolor Card Duo

Good morning! Happy STAMPtember - I know it is coming to an end soon, but it's still September, so it still counts! Can you believe how fast this month went? I just got back earlier this week from a two week trip to Italy - so I'm adjusting to the colder weather, different time zones (hello jet lag!), and getting back into the routine of things. But fall is one of my favorite seasons, so I don't mind at all! And I'm grateful to be home for the last tiny bit of STAMPtember! Woohoo! Today I'm sharing a couple cards made with the NEW STAMPtember Release from Simon Says Stamp - I actually made these before I left, and didn't have time to get my post written up in the pre-trip flurry of activity! These use the beautiful pre-printed Suzy's Fall Watercolor Cards!

I colored them in two different ways. This first one, I used my Daniel Smith watercolors, then added a layer of sparkle over the leaves with my Nuvo Glitter Pen. I also coated some of the letters and the acorns with Glossy Accents for additional texture.

The second one I colored with Distress Inks in Fired Brick, Carved Pumpkin, and Mustard Seed - starting off with some distress ink smooshing, then layering on some additional color layers using the same colors of ink! I also added a splatter of white using Copic Opaque White medium for nice, thick, and opaque white droplets.

I trimmed both panels with Stitched Rectangles, matted with a bit of white cardstock, then mounted on kraft cardbases!

Pinkfresh Studio STAMPtember Exclusive

Hello! I stopped by to share a card using the BRAND NEW Pinkfresh Studio STAMPtember exclusive! I've used it to put together this simple card design:

This beautiful set has a gorgeous floral rectangular wreath with a coordinating die that does some partial die cutting.

I die cut the image first from vellum, then used my MISTI to line up and stamp the image over the top and heat emboss in white. I turned if over and used a rounded embossing tool to rub some texture into the images and raise it up a bit - something I haven't done for a while, but one of my favorite techniques!

I die cut a window using Essentials: Basic Label Frames, and placed some Just a Little Lovely pattern paper behind, stamping my sentiment in the window. I did some messy machine stitching around the window to attach it to the pattern paper.

I masked that area and the outside off and added a few splatters around with Licorice Liquid Watercolors, and let it dry VERY thoroughly! Can you see the embossed texture on this card?

Evelin T Second Release Blog Hop - Wishing You Much Joy Winter Scene

Good morning! I'm so very excited this morning to be hopping along for the second release from Evelin T Designs! If you haven't seen her designs before - you are going to love them! She has such an adorable and whimsical style of illustrating - I know you are going to fall in love with it all! Today is a blog hop with some talented designers - and the new release goes live at 9 AM EDT so you can start shopping!

For this card today I'm using the darling new Fun in the Snow stamp set!

I created a wintry background using Gouache Paint - and once that dried, layered on some vellum for "ice" and a few snowflakes sprinkled around the background.

I added very simple Copic coloring to those darling images, and layered them on with foam adhesive. Tied some jute string in a simple knot underneath.

Stamped the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock, then layered some glittery Nuvo drops around the edges of that, and the scarves and skates of the sweet bears.

Reverse Confetti STAMPtember Exclusive

Hello! I stopped by to share a card using the BRAND NEW Reverse Confetti STAMPtember exclusive! I've used it to put together a rather simple card design - since I was running out of time before heading out of town for two weeks, I didn't have a ton of time to spend on it. Fortunately...this stamp set doesn't require much work to be stunning!

This stamp set is so fun and a bit unique - each of the different leaf designs is tinted a certain color to help it line up. I actually just followed the color coding on the stamp set!

Once I had it all stamped, I also added the sentiment, then coated the leaves with Glossy Accents for a bit of dimension.

Finished off with a few Pretty Pink Posh white jewels, and a rounded corner at the top left!
