Peace and Joy Glittery Layers - Simon Says Stamp DIEcember

Good morning! Today I'm sharing another Simon Says Stamp DieCember Release Card with you, featuring one of the fabulous new dies, paired up with some lovely glitter cardstock for a sparkly and fun card!

I started off by cutting the gorgeous new Holiday Knit background die from white cardstock. I played around with some different options to place behind it, until I popped some glitter cardstock behind there - and then I knew that was the way to go! I used two different shades of SSS glitter cardstock - Aqua and Silver - laying it out so the silver was behind one center stripe of the pattern, then adhered all those layers together.

Next, I added a sentiment from Tiny Words Christmas Stamp set, heat embossed on a thin strip of black cardstock, and with a bundle of silver thread tucked behind it. For just a touch more sparkle, I added a few silver PPP jewels. So hard to fully capture the sparkle in person - but this card is so sparkly and elegant in real life - and possibly the best part? None of that glitter will rub off or get everywhere! YAY!

Watercolor and Glossy Watercolor Card - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! I'm actually a little slow to share this card, because it uses one of the lovely pre-printed watercolor cards in the (SOLD OUT) Simon Says Stamp December Card Kit - Holiday Cheer. While this isn't available on it's own, there are LOTS of similar ones that I've linked to at the bottom of my post today! All of the Suzy's Watercolor Prints for Simon Says Stamp are beautiful, printed on watercolor cardstock (that also works with Copics and colored pencils by the way!) - and are so fun and portable to take along for coloring on the go! THIS Happy Holiday's Collection has many similar images in it - but make sure and check them ALL out HERE to find your favorites!

I actually took this (along with several others!) and my Daniel Smith watercolors when I went to Hawaii last month. Funny, because I didn't end up with much time to color actually - this is the only one I actually finished! I restricted my colors for this to the dot card that came in the same card kit - so if you were lucky enough to get your hands on the kit, this is a peek at what you can do with just those four colors!

Once I got home and got some time, I added some Glossy Accents to some areas of the design for a bit of shine and dimension.

Once that dried thoroughly - actually for several days by the time I got to the next step - I die cut that panel with Stitched Rectangles, and mounted it on a Surf Blue Cardbase.

Reverse Confetti December Blog Hop - A Year to Remember

Good morning! Today it's time for the final blog hop of 2018 with Reverse Confetti! This is a non-release month, so instead of showcasing new products, we are sharing projects using already released items - and there is a chance to win a $15 gift card to Reverse Confetti - check out the Reverse Confetti Blog for details on how to win!

For today's card I created a clean and graphic design using some of the newest 6x6 pattern paper pad - Winter Solstice. I die cut it using just the coordinating Triangle Trees Confetti Cuts, and lined it up in a diagonal pattern on my white cardbase.

Once I was happy with the arrangement, I picked it all up with Press n' Seal, turned it over, and added foam adhesive to pop it up from the background. When those were pressed in place, I added sentiments from Triangle Trees and stamped it along the top and bottom edge.

I finished off with a few clear droplets for just a touch of dimension and sparkle!

Part of this blog hop was to share our top 3 favorite Reverse Confetti projects from the year. I couldn't narrow it down any more, so I'm sharing my top 5 - haha! I noticed a clean and simple theme going on as well in my favorites, which is funny that my new card for today is along those lines as well! Here are those favorites - click on the link below any of them for more details on each card:

Sweet Silhouettes - Spellbinders Dies by Sharon Sowell

Hello! I recently received a few beautiful new dies from Spellbinders designed by the oh-so-talented Sharon Sowell from her Great, Big, Wonderful World Collection to play with, and oh what fun I had! These dies are SO very intricate and sweet - they really make cardmaking so easy! I kept my designs super soft and simple to show off the beautiful dies without a bunch of other distractions - here are the two cards I made:

One of the first things I always seem to do when I receive new dies, is die cut them in white cardstock. I just love to see them cut out to get the full effect, and white cardstock is a simple inexpensive way to do that. However, once I cut these out, I loved how they looked and new that I would definitely be using them that way - not trying to change the color up any!

This first card uses the beautiful Join the Parade die - it is all in once piece except for that tiny bird on the right hand side. I love that it would also be fun to use all on it's own as well, for more versatility! I stamped sentiments on the banners using Simon Says Stamp Messages for Everyday Stamp Set - curving the straight sentiments to fit the banners.

This second card uses the lovely Dance for Joy die - ack! The sweetness of this images is almost too much for me to bear - love it so much! This one I added a sentiment along the bottom using another Simon Says Stamp Set - You Got This.

For both cards, I used a soft gray cardbase, then added a panel of soft Lawn Fawn Gingham pattern paper before attaching the die cut images (with sentiments already stamped) over the top with carefully placed foam adhesive on the back.

Would love to hear what you think of these lovely dies! Do you have a favorite? Do you love cards featuring die cutting like this? Or maybe you have a favorite color combo?

Blue Floral Encouragement Card Trio

Good morning! I'm sharing this trio of floral cards with encouraging sentiments and simple white heat embossing on solid cardstock - all featuring different tones of blue -  both here and on the Pinkfresh Studio Blog today!

For each of these cards I heat embossed the gorgeous images from Fancy Blooms Stamp Set on various shades of blue cardstock - the white embossing lets the detal of the image shine, but gives them an entirely different look than coloring!

Once they were all finished, I die cut each one using the Coordinating Fancy Blooms Dies, then added them with foam adhesive to white cardbases, adding beautiful encouraging sentiments from My Favorite Things to Say Stamp Set. I love these sentiments so much!

I also added just a few enamel dots to each one - I couldn't believe my luck that I found enamel dots within the Holiday Vibes and Simple & Sweet enamel dot cards to coordinate so perfectly!

Once I had those on, I used my corner chomper to cut one rounded corner on each card for just a touch of interest.

It took everything in me to stop here and not add something more! Sometimes clean and simple is so hard to achieve - and I often add more when I should just leave it as it is! So I stayed strong and left these simple!

Simon Says Stamp DIEcember Blog Hop - Sweet Lollipop Trio

Hello! Happy DieCember with Simon Says Stamp! This month is all about celebrating die cutting - and there is, of course, a fabulous NEW DieCember RELEASE for the occasion as well! You can check that out HERE! This post is part of a fabulous Blog Hop to celebrate - with giveaways at each stop along the hop! Info at the bottom of this post on the giveaway, as well as links to all the products I used on my cards today!

I can't say just HOW much FUN I had creating these fun and sparkly cards to share today! I am SOOO in love with how they came out!

For this sweet trio of cards, I used the fabulous new Spinning Circle Wafer Die - and I know there are probably lots of different things you could see with this die, but the first think I noticed was how much it looked like a peppermint swirl! But I wanted to twist up the colors a little and not use just red and white - so I went with pink, mint, and white. I die cut each color one time, then assembled one with mint and white, one with pink and white, and used the leftovers mint and pink to assemble another one! I die cut a slightly smaller circle using Nested Circles Dies to place behind them and adhere the pieces together and hold them as one element.

For these first two - I covered them with a thick coat of Glossy Accents, spreading it around with my finger, then coated with chunky Avery Elle glitter for lots of sparkle and shine. Don't they look sugar coated?!?!? I thought these would be super fun baby cards, or birthday cards for little ones!

For all of these cards I added sentiments using Hello You Stamp Set and the coordinating Hello Wafer Die - both from CZ Designs (available as a set HERE). I thought they were such perfect sentiments for these cards - such a clever and unique sentiment set!

This final card I also covered with Glossy Accents, but used the finer Distress Rock Candy Glitter over it. This one has a completely different, but totally frosty and fun look!

It's hard to see in the photos, but I used the Cora Embossing Texture Plate from a previous release to add a touch of texture to the white cardbases. It adds a lovely soft lacy look in real life! I also added a strip of black cardstock to create the "stick" for these lollies, and then tied a bit of jute string around the top of the stick before adhering with foam adhesive on my cardbases.

If you're looking for a bit more inspiration with this release - I posted these cards on my blog using one of the new dies as well! These use the lovely Tree Frame Wafer Die - you can find details on these cards HERE if you want to see more!

Make sure and keep an eye out next week for part 2 of the blog hop - happening on December 7th - for even more inspiration! Simon Says Stamp is also offering an adorable stamp set free with any purchase - make sure and use the coupon code: DCMBR27 to receive it!
