Merry Ornament Tag Cards - Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember

Good morning! I'm back today to share another card created with the STAMPtember Release from Simon Says StampStamptember is a month long party to celebrate all things stamping, and it kicked off with a huge Simon Says Stamp release. I'm featuring one of the new stamp sets on these cards today, paired with a couple of previously released dies and 3D embossing folder.

For both cards, I started off by stamping the ornaments from Holiday Ornaments stamp set on die cut tags. I used two different tag dies - Large Standard Tag and Large Rounded Tag. These are a great size for actually using as gift tags, as well as a focal point on a card like this!

I stamped both images slightly offset on the tags for a bit of interest, then colored them in with Copic markers. I added a few white gel pen accents to help the images pop.

The backgrounds were created using the Kaleidoscope 3D Embossing folder and colored cardstock. I lightly misted both pieces of cardstock before embossing, to allow the paper to give a deeper impression. I set a cutting plate on top of them, and let them dry overnight - this way the paper didn't warp as it dried. I love the difference this extra time makes in the finished piece!

The next day, I added twine to the tags, and mounted them with foam adhesive over the backgrounds. I stamped sentiments from the same set, trimmed them into strips, and mounted over the top, using foam adhesive under the part not over the tag, and tucking the twine under to hold it in place.

Finished off with a few sparkly Metallic Gold Pearls! Which ornament or color combo is your favorite?

Balloon Party Shaker - Simon Says Stamp April 2022 Card Kit

Good morning! I'm popping in today to share one last card using BRAND NEW April 2022 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - Life is a Party! This month's kit is a party in a box! The included stamp set by the same name has some fun party theme sentiments and images, there is an adorable balloon die set, of course some sweet pattern paper, a fun embossing folder, some glittery paste...that's all not to mention the cardstock, Distress Oxide ink pad, and more!

Today I'm sharing a simple and fun shaker card!

This card really was one of the simplest shaker cards to create - I started off by trimming a panel of the pattern paper in the kit to slightly smaller than my white cardbase, then die cutting the largest balloon die from the center of it.

Next, I fitted and stamped my sentiment from the stamp set in that window, on the white cardbase. I stamped the string on the balloon on the outside of the pattern paper, backed the window with acetate, and filled the shaker with some tiny sparkling clear sequins. Finally - I used a white gel pen to add some dots around the outer edge of the balloon for some interest!

Praying for You Spring Flowers - Simon Says Stamp

Hello my friends - I'm back with another card heavily featuring blue and yellow - the colors of the Ukrainian flag. My mind has been so focused there - and these lovely flowers are some that our friend Yana had recently used on some cards she shared recently - before everything changed last week. Making cards is something I've often referred to as my therapy - and this is especially true right now, as I find my emotions straying onto my cardmaking more often than not. You can read more, and see my first cards HERE if you want more details.

This card is a mini slimline design, and a rare, truly one layer card for me.

I used the beautiful new Spring Stems stamp set from Simon Says Stamp's recent Good Luck Charm release - one I hadn't had a chance to ink up yet. I stamped the image and sentiment in Copic friendly black ink directly on my white 3 1/4" by 6 1/4" mini slimline cardbase, leaving the florals slightly offset along the bottom.

Next, I colored the image up with simple Copic marker colors. Sometimes it is super fun to color an image with Copics. I am a bit impatient lately, and don't spend much time doing that. But I found I was able to use this time to pray for Yana, the Ukraine, and the Russian people that are caught in the middle of it all with no wish to be.

Once I had the image colored, I also added some detail accents with a white gel pen.

Something about the florals in this set - daffodil and crocus - are such symbols of spring, and therefore hope, to me. So they seemed especially fitting. While it is heavy, and horrible, and hard, there is always hope for tomorrow - for me, found in the Lord, and brought closer the more time I spend in prayer.

I'm pairing up two of the new stamp sets on my slimline card design - along with a previously released alpha die to create my custom sentiment!

I started off by stamping and coloring that sweet image from the new Kindred Spirits stamp set. I thought it reminded me of a vintage image of sisters - and was super sweet! I colored it up simple with Copic markers in soft tones.

The sentiment was created with a mix of Rounded Alphabet dies and the new XL Love Greetings stamp set - don't they work perfectly together?

For the alphas, I started off by grabbing a panel of mint cardstock, swiping my clear embossing ink pad across the bottom of it, and heat embossing with two layers of clear embossing powder. I then die cut the letters so that they were halfway between the two portions. This added a bit of fun texture, shine, and interest to the letters! I also die cut them two more times from white cardstock to layer together for a bit more dimension to the letters.

I also used my new favorite white gel pen from Arteza to add some dots and flower doodles onto the simply colored dresses the girls were wearing. I thought it was fun to add that bit of detail to the design. These would also be super fun to paper piece with pattern paper I think!

And that finishes off this simple slimline design with two of the new items from the release! Can't wait to play with them more!

Valentine Note Card Set - Simon Says Stamp February Card Kit

Good morning! I'm popping in today with a little set of cards using BRAND NEW February 2022 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - Season of Sentiments! My kit this month took a bit of a detour and came later than normal, so it took me a bit longer to get something created to share. :) This month's kit is filled with sweet valentine themed products! The included stamp set by the same name has a huge beautiful floral design, there is also a smaller stamp set with some great sentiments, of course some sweet pattern paper, a cute word die...that's all not to mention the cardstock, envelopes, and more!

I had fun with the pattern paper in this kit to quickly put together this set of 4 note cards!

These fun panels from the Simple Stories Happy Hearts 6x8 papers in the kit had 4 on one sheet of paper - I only used half of them, and still have 4 more I can create more cards with!

These papers are double sided...and the reverse side was so pretty, I wanted to at least let a small peek of it show through on the front of my card, so I folded over a corner, and added a small twine bow with my tiny stapler as a fun design element.

I also tucked some more of that pattern paper behind each one - that striped design was the perfect match for all of these! I trimmed them down to small panels to fit behind and peek out just slightly.

I adhered everything down just with an adhesive runner, but I left the edges free, and curled them up a bit with my fingers. This gives the illusion of dimension, without having to have lots of bulky weight from foam adhesive and such. One of my favorite tricks!

It also might be hard to see in the photos, but on each card, I also pulled out my favorite new white gel pen from Arteza and added a bit of detail accents. I have tried SOOO many white gel pens and struggled with them clogging, and so far, these are magical! They work SOOO well!

Finally, a little row of sparkly Glacier Jewels in the bottom corner to add a touch of sparkle and balance the design!

Here is a closer look at the entire kit contents - you can see it all HERE:

Which design is your favorite? I'm a bit partial to the balloons...although that fun frosty drink makes me think of bubble tea which I love, so that is fun too!

Hoppy Birthday Shaker Card - Simon Says Stamp August 2021 Card Kit

Hello! I'm here today to share another card with the BRAND NEW August 2021 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - Toadlly Unfrogettable! This kit is all about our little green friends! The included stamp set by the same name has lots of the cute critters - as well as some great punny sentiments, there is some super cute pattern paper, a fun stencil - that's all not to mention the cardstock, envelopes, and more!

My last card was clean and simple, and nearly one layer - this card is a bit more layered, with a shaker element as well!

I started off by stamping, Copic coloring, and fussy cutting several of the images from the stamp set. I then die cut a window in a panel of white cardstock using Stitched Circles to create my shaker element. I also stamped my sentiment in the upper left corner.

I backed the shaker with some of the pattern paper in the kit, then filled it with the adorable Frog Sprinkles, and mounted that on a Lemon Whip cardbase. I arranged the elements of the scene on the card, and added a few more of the sprinkles glued on the cardfront as well. Finished off with a double coat of Glossy Accents on the eyes for extra fun!

Sea You Soon - Simon Says Stamp Rainbows Release

Hello! Stopping by today with another card using a couple of stamp sets from the brand new Rainbows release from Simon Says Stamp - I used similar supplies for a couple of mini slimline cards for the release hop last week, so thought I'd share another version I made!

The fun Sea and Sky cling background separates into 3 pieces, so you can stamp in different colors of ink. It is a large stamp - which is why I used it for two mini slimline cards for last weeks cards. But I wanted to make a standard A2 size card as well, and it's easy to trim down to accomplish that.

I stamped with Pinkfresh Studio inks - Summer Shower for the sky portion, Seaside for the waves (then colored with Copic markers), and Warm Buff for the sand.

I added the sentiments, birds in the sky, and the starfish using the new Seas and Greetings stamp set. I also added some white paint splatters to the scene for some texture.

I trimmed that panel down to be slightly smaller than my white cardbase, then adhered it directly down - keeping it nice and flat to mail!

I also used a white gel pen to add a few more extra dots on the starfish - so hard to see them in the photos, but I promise it's there. Isn't this such a perfect simple and serene scene?
