Neutral Gingham and Florals - Simon Says Stamp

Hello! I just wanted to pop in one more time today and share this simple and monochromatic card that I put together using the popular Beautiful Flowers stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. There are now coordinating dies for this set that just released if that is something you were hoping for! I notice they are already on reserve until August 8th - but now is a great time to get your name on the list to sign up for notification when they come back in stock! If you don't have the stamp set already, the stamp and dies can be purchased together - and that is currently in stock HERE - yay!

I started off for this card by stamping a background using SSS Gingham Background and Barely Beige Ink. I then stamped my floral image from Beautiful Flowers right over the top of that, and colored it with simple neutral colors using just 3 Warm Gray Copic markers. Sentiment is from another stamp set that released originally as part of a card kit, Beautiful Day.

I trimmed that panel slightly smaller than an A2 cardbase, added a double row of machine stitching along the side, and mounted with foam on my cardbase before finishing off with a few Nuvo Drops in Gloss White.

Technique Tuesday Countdown Day 2 - Sunny Flowers

Good morning! Welcome to Day 2 of sneak peeks for the August Release from Technique Tuesday! Woohoo!!! Lots of fun new stamps and dies in this release - make sure and check out the Technique Tuesday Blog to find links to all the Design Team's projects for today!

I used one of the new sets we are sharing sneak peeks of to create a little different style of a card for me! Instead of stamping and coloring this image, I did some distress inking over heat embossing, and carried that style over to my background on my card as well!

I used the new Sunny Flowers Stamp Set and Coordinating Dies for my card. I heat embossed the image in clear on white cardstock, then die cut the image. I then did some blending over the top with Distress Oxide inks - using a couple different colors.

I used a rubber brayer and more Distress Oxide Ink to create a background on my white cardbase, then adhered my image with foam adhesive and added a heat embossed sentiment on black cardstock from the same stamp set. Finished off with a touch of jute twine around the top!

Plantiful Puns Watercolor Card Trio - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! I'm here again today with more cards using the BRAND NEW release from Simon Says Stamp called Friendly Frolic - this time I'm sharing some simple watercolor cards I made using a super fun new stamp set called Plantiful Puns - SOOOO stinkin' adorable! I love the sentiments!

I actually pre-stamped these, and while my teen driver (HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?!?!?) drove to and from church with her dad teaching her, I sat in the backseat with my younger daughter and watercolored these up.

I used my Daniel Smith watercolors and a waterbrush, so they worked really well for portability for me.

I pre-stamped them using my MISTI, and used the smoother side of some Tim Holtz watercolor paper.

Once I got home and they were dry, I die cut the panels using Simon Says Stamp Basic Rectangles Dies. You could easily just trim them down to size, I'm just beginning to find that I love these dies since I can see exactly where I am trimming them down to.

I think this one is my favorite sentiment! Coming from a true plan killer I'm afraid! Hahahaha!

I finished them off by mounting them with foam on Cream cardbases - I love the slight contrast between the whiter watercolor paper and the cream cardstock!

Small Things with Great Love - Technique Tuesday Strawberries

Hello! Stopping by today with a card using some of the release from way back in June from Technique Tuesday, as well as a sentiment from the most recent July release - a card I never quite finished until this week, so obviously hadn't had a chance to share it! And...the new release is just around the corner - sneak peeks start next week! YAY!

I started off by die cutting the lovely Strawberries on the Border die from white cardstock. I carefully removed each piece from the negative, colored with Copic markers, then fit back into the original.

I added black cardstock behind that panel, and fussy cut along the edge to add a border, and fill in the holes from the seeds in the strawberries. Finished off with a sentiment from Beautiful Dragonflies Stamp set and mounted with foam over a panel of fun pattern paper.

Bold Scandinavian Design - Simon Says Stamp Friendly Frolic Blog Hop

Good morning! I'm thrilled to be hopping today to celebrate the BRAND NEW release from Simon Says Stamp called Friendly Frolic with a FABULOUS line up of talented creators! Today is Day 1 of the hop - make sure and check in tomorrow for Day 2 - there is a $25 prize up for grabs from EACH and EVERY stop along BOTH days of the hop!!!

You should have arrived here today from Suzy Plantamura - if you just happened along, head over to the Simon Says Stamp Blog to start at the beginning!

For today's card I used the amazing new Folk Dance Rubber Background Stamp and a new technique that popped into my head one night as I was falling asleep - and I was THRILLED with how it came out!

There is a lot of Scandinavian heritage in my family - both on my side, and my husbands side, so I'm always fascinated with the colors and patterns from that. I wanted to make a striking background with traditional colors on black, and I was so glad my idea worked! I stamped it in white pigment ink on black cardstock, using my MISTI to stamp it a couple times for a nice solid impression. I set it aside to dry for a bit, then used my Polychromos pencils to carefully color in each image, intentionally leaving a bit of white space around the outside edges. The white stamping allowed the colored pencils to pop out bold and vibrant against the black background - SOOOO cool! It was a bit of a slow process, but didn't require a huge amount of thinking, so was nice and releaxing and fun!

Once I finished my background, I wanted to do as little as possible to cover it up - so I stamped a simple sentiment from the previously released Messages for Everyday on a thin strip of white cardstock, and popped it on foam adhesive over the top.

I simple white cardstock mat, then I mounted on a top folding cardbase created with black cardstock - adding a white panel on the inside for a space to write a note as well.

Your next stop along the hop is Elena Salo - I know she has something fabulous waiting for you - so make sure and head that way next!

Winter in July - Unity Blog Hop

Good evening! It's time for a wintery blog hop with Unity Stamp Company to celebrate some brand new releases! Woohoo!! As always, there are prizes up for grabs, and tons of inspiration as well! I have two simple cards I made using new releases to share tonight:

First up - I love this new Angie Girl called Caitlyn Girl! I can't help but want to add onto the sentiment Olaf's line from Frozen - "Some people are worth melting for!"

A couple days ago I picked up my first watercolor pencils - kind of hard to believe I didn't have a set before this! Well...I am officially in love! These two cards were my first time using them, and they are SOOO fun to play with!

I also used them on this second card - all the scarfs in rainbow order, or course! This stamp set uses the new stamp set called Unique:

For this one I added some details with a white gel pen once it dried.

They are both mounted on foam on the cardbase - just a bit of dimension and interest.

Strong, Beautiful, Fearless - Simon Says Stamp Friendly Frolic Release

Good morning! I'm back today with another card using the BRAND NEW release from Simon Says Stamp called Friendly Frolic - SOOO much fun stuff to enjoy, I have so many projects to share! Today I'm sharing this card using the gorgeous Sketch Lotus Stamp set. I know by the name what they are supposed to be, but they also reminded me of succulents, so i colored them up more in colors that matched that theme! Love a versatile stamp set, don't you?

I stamped the image on kraft cardstock, then colored nice and slowly with my Polychromos pencils. I originally stamped in Khaki ink and was going to stamp over and heat emboss the image - but had so much fun with the pencils, I decided to just keep it simple and kind of a no-line style to the coloring. I love the bold vibrant colors on kraft!

I  stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set, then used a couple colors of distress oxides and Simon Says Stamps Tap Dance Stencil to add some texture around the edges. Finished off by matting with a super thin line of black cardstock, and mounting with foam on a white cardbase.
