Oh Happy Day - Double Layer Embossing

Good morning! Stopping by this morning to share another card using some of the amazing new product from Simon Says Stamp called the Masterpiece Box - full of new unreleased products from some of your favorite companies! For today's cards I decided to use the Simon Says Stamp set that is included in The Masterpiece Box and a super fun double layer embossing technique with distress inks!

The idea for the technique I used on these popped into my head as I was driving home the other night - I couldn't wait to get home and see if the idea in my head would work like I hoped - I was so glad it did! Let me tell you what I did...

I started off by stamping all the flowers and leaves and such in clear Versamark ink on white cardstock. BEFORE adding embossing powder, I stamped the sentiment over the top with black Versafine ink. Since both of these inks work well with heat embossing, I then sprinkled the clear embossing powder over all of it at once.

Once I heat set it all, then I set out with all my distress inks to blend on lots of color - and just like magic, the flowers and leaves showed up white, and the sentiment stayed black!

Once I blended my colors on, I flicked on a bit of water, then some white paint splatters.

I die cut the front panel with a rectangle die, then matted it with black cardstock.

Finished off with some clear sparkling sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

More Spotlight Vellum Cards - with Plaid!

Good morning! Dropping by with a couple more cards that use the same technique from the other day that I posted HERE with a Quick Tip video - these are actually the originals, that were supposed to be in the video. Due to some operator error (ahem...oops!) - I didn't push record apparently when I thought I did, so the video started when I thought I pushed stop...can we say blooper video! Haha! Anyway - so I redid them, but here are the ones I started with originally!

I still have this thing with Plaid - simply cannot get enough of it - and love that so many companies are coming out with paper pads that feature JUST plaids! I *may* be collecting them, and possibly in quantities of more than one! :)

This plaid paper is from an older Simple Stories paper pad.

This plaid from an older Basic Grey Christmas pad.

I can't decide which ones I like better - the bolder colors in the other post that are attached to the video? Or these softer plaids? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Warmest of Greetings this Season - Unity Hip Hop

Good evening! It's that fun time when the Unity Design Team has their monthly Hip Hop! I have a little Christmas in July card - and a Quick Tip video for it as well!

I used Glossy Accents to accent the mittens before watercoloring - an easy way to accent those little details!

You can see the effect a little better in this close up too - I love how it came out!

A little Christmas pattern paper, a doily tucked behind, and all done!

Here are links to the products I used on this including affiliate links where possible - and below that the rest of the stops along the hop - make sure and visit them all! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful evening!
