Firehouse Thanks

Good morning! A few weeks ago, my sister (who is a volunteer firefighter on one of our local small town fire departments) asked me if I could make her a thank you card for her department as a thank you for a local business who had donated something to them. So...I pulled out my thinking cap, and my Altenew Halftone Thanks stamp set, and put together this simple card!

I pulled out some older pattern papers from my stash of scraps (I think one is Simple Stories and one is Basic Grey, but I'm not certain) - and added a torn edge to both before layering them up. I stamped the thanks above that, then heat embossed the extra sentient in white on a strip of black cardstock - trimming off the "I" so that it worked for a group - and mounted that with a touch of foam. Finished off with a few Metallic Silver Confetti from Pretty Pink Posh, and a bit of black jute twine tied in a knot, trimmed, and frayed a bit at the ends.

Metallic Ombre Dipped Sentiment - Unity Snowman

Good morning! I didn't get a chance to share this card before - sorry it's a bit late! I made this card last week for the Unity Stamp Company Brown Thursday sale - the stamp set was the freebie for last week's sale. The good news is, it has released now for purchase, and...there is a new sale already as well!

I also have a Quick Tip Video showing how I created the ombre metallic dipped sentiment on this card:

This image was so sweet and easy to watercolor - one of my favorite coloring mediums in case you haven't guessed!

The video explains it best - but basically to create the metallic ombre, you drag an embossing pad over the bottom of the die cut word, then sprinkle on embossing powder and heat set. Then, mount over the same word die cut from fun foam (you could also use multiple layers of white cardstock, but the foam is quicker) and mount on your card!

I also added some Nuvo drops to the snowman for extra fun dimension.

SSS Deer Watercolor Duo of Cards

Hello! A good couple weeks ago I shared a sneak peek of some backgrounds I had heat embossed on watercolor paper, then showed a quick peek at one of the cards I finished about a week later. Then a little over a week ago I showed most of the cards I had made with those backgrounds (you can see them HERE if you're interested) - here finally is the final two cards I made with those backgrounds!

I used SSS Christmas Sweater background - for this set, I used Silver Embossing powder, and did some loose and messy watercoloring over the top of the embossed backgrounds in a variety of pastel colors instead of just one color. I then die cut the center out with my SSS Stitched Oval dies and used the negative for one card, and the oval for another card.

For the first card I added a trio of stars from the new SSS Holy Stars Dies, die cut in black. I added some score lines under the oval before attaching it (hard to see in the photos) - and added a sentiment from the new and gorgeous Stained Glass Greetings Stamp Set.

For the second card, I added a deer cut with SSS Retro Deer Die, and a small star from SSS Holy Stars Dies and also turned this one into a shaker as the previous ones. This time, however, I added my sentiment inside the shaker using Stained Glass Greetings Stamp Set and filled it with 1/4" Silver Star Confetti from Pretty Pink Posh.

I love the bold black against the pop of pastel colors on these - and it's fun to use one background and get two cards out of it!

Everything Sweet - SSS December Card Kit

Hello there! I'm stopping by this morning with another little card I made using the BRAND NEW December Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp: Milk and Cookies! An adorable stamp set is included in this one, along with lots of fun Doodlebug papers and stickers, and more! I decided to use pretty much ALL the stickers in the kit to make this one card! They are so fun that I couldn't pick just one or two! Oh - and it is an exclusive mix of stickers that Doodlebug put together just for this kit too!

I also used some of the gorgeous Tonic Tropical Tide glittery paper in the kit - seriously, it is gorgeous! I die cut it with the largest Stitched Banner, then cut the next one smaller in white cardstock. I white heat embossed a sentiment from the Christmas Squad Stamp set on a strip of black cardstock, adhered it over the banner, then went crazy adding all those fun stickers! I then die cut some of the pattern paper using a couple sizes of Stitched Rectangles, and layered them all together on a white cardbase before adding the banner with foam adhesive.

Here is a look at the entire kit contents - you can find it HERE:

What do you think? Am I crazy to use up all those stickers in one place? Or are you, like me, learning to use things and not hoard them? :)

Sweet Vintage Inspiration

Good morning! Do you ever see something on Pinterest, and realize you have the perfect stamp set to use the inspiration to create a card? Well...that is just what happened to me today! Here is the image I came across:

Don't you love the colorful and vintage feel? It was so fun to create my card using this as my inspiration and pulling out my new Kitchen Love stamp set, and several ink colors from Reverse Confetti!

I began by stamping several of the images in a variety of fun Reverse Confetti Dye Inks, then cutting them out with the coordination Kitchen Love Confetti Cuts. I die cut the Small Diamond Tiles Cover Panel, backed it with some Salsa Cardstock, then trimmed off just 3 rows to attach to the bottom of my white cardbase. I then fitted back in alternating of the white pieces that had been cut out to mimic the pattern at the bottom of my inspiration piece.

Next, I layered up my images until I was happy with the arrangement, picked the whole thing up with Press and Seal, added foam adhesive to the back, and then placed back on my card. I added the sentiment stamped with Salsa Dye Ink, then added some pretty Nuvo Drops to coordinate and add a fun touch - and mostly because I am addicted to using them lately! :)

Here are the Reverse Confetti products I used on this card - click on the picture if you want to learn more about any of these items!

From Our Squad To Yours - SSS December Card Kit

Hello there! I'm stopping by tonight with a little card I made using the BRAND NEW December Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp: Milk and Cookies! An adorable stamp set is included in this one, along with lots of fun Doodlebug papers and stickers, and more! I don't often make a card with much masking, but for some reason, this stamp set just BEGGED to be built into a cute one layer scene!

I stamped each image and fussy cut it from SSS Masking Paper, then stamped and layered up the images on a Stitched Oval. I masked even the final stamped image (Santa) and then added a bit of distress inking around the family before removing my masks and coloring up the images. Layered up some of that fun pattern paper, and heat embossed a sentiment on a strip of black cardstock that I hand trimmed into a banner. A few white gel pen dots finish this card off!

Here is a look at the entire kit contents - you can find it HERE:

Isn't that just an adorable little Claus family?!?!?

Look a Lot Like Christmas - W&W November Release Day 4

Good morning! I'm back with another sneak peek of the new Winnie and Walter release! Today we have some ADORABLE new stamp sets from Evelin T Designs premiering on the Winnie and Walter Blog - make sure and head over there to see the new sets and lots of inspiration with them! Seriously - they are darling!

I had fun coloring up this sweet image with Copics, then decided to use an unusual color for the background. As I went through my papers, this pink one jumped out at me as perfect! I added some white paper that I tore the edge of to mimic snow, and then did some machine stitching around the sides. Added the sentiment in the snow, then added a few Pretty Pink Posh snowflake sequins and several drops of white Nuvo Drops just to up the appearance of snow. And - it is a completely flat easy to mail card too! Bonus!

25 Tags of Christmas - Winnie and Walter

Good morning! I'm happy to be joining in again today one more time this month with a special event called the 25 Days of Christmas Tags - a fun event that Tracey McNeely does each year with tags every day from different companies, a link up to play along, and of course, prizes! You can read all the details HERE

Today's sponsor is Winnie and Walter - and what perfect timing it is too! I was able to use some of the new goodies that release tonight on my tag!

I decided to make a shaker tag today - and combined some pretty vintage colors, with a bit of bright white! A bit of an unexpected twist - I originally was going to use a cream or kraft tone - but was struck by how fun the contrast was!

I used the new Essentials: Josephine Cutaways to create my tag and shaker element, filled with some pretty Vintage Christmas sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. Aren't those dots fun?!?!? I then used a cut little image from one of the new sets that we are premiering today - Sweet Holiday with Evelin T Designs. I colored it up with Copics, then added some white gel pen accents, adhered it to my shaker tag, and added some sparkly Nuvo drops as a finishing touch! I also love the touch of rustic feel from adding the jute string to the top!

Here is a peek at some of the awesome sponsors for this event!
