Blessed Christmas - Deer Watercolor Shaker Cards

Hello! A good couple weeks ago I shared a sneak peek of some backgrounds I had heat embossed on watercolor paper, then showed a quick peek at one of the cards I finished about a week later. Well...I even had them photographed about a week ago, and finally had time to sit get the photos edited and a post written up! Sometimes that is just how it goes I guess - and I ended up with a flood of DT work and new release deadlines that took priority. I'm super happy to share these now though - I had tons of fun with them and was so happy with how they came out!

I used SSS Christmas Sweater background - and several different metallic embossing powders for each, just to experiment with them. I don't think I have a favorite - they were each pretty fun! I did some loose and messy watercoloring over the top of the embossed backgrounds, then die cut the centers out with my SSS Stitched Oval dies to turn them into shaker cards! This first card uses SSS Antique Gold Embossing Powder - a little deeper than the original gold, and super pretty:

I ended up mounting the ovals behind the shaker cards - I just had to keep them together! And some sparkly Iridescent Star Confetti from Pretty Pink Posh let them still shine through yet have lots of shaking fun! This card used SSS Gold Embossing Powder - a classic:

Once I had my shakers built and mounted on white cardbases, I decided to add some black silhouettes around the shaker frames. I started off with a star from the new SSS Holy Stars Dies and used the smaller star. This card used Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder - a great color that seems to fit somewhere between silver and gold when neither one seems right - I use this one quite a bit actually:

Finally, I added a deer cut with SSS Retro Deer Die, and stamped the sentiment banner from Magical Christmas and die cut it with the coordinating Magical Christmas Dies. This final card used Rose Gold Embossing Powder - I love how it is almost a coppery color - so pretty!

What do you think? Do you have a favorite color combo? Favorite of these metallic embossing powders?
