Happy Birthday in the Woods

I've had such fun catching up on posts this week form last year - I hope you will bear with me one more time as I share ANOTHER important birthday card from last year - this time last fall for my youngest daughter. I love creating custom cards to fit each of my daughter's personalities - sometimes it can be difficult to get them just right! But I was pretty happy with how this one came out:

I used one of my favorite Pinkfresh Studio sets - Through the Trees - heat embossed on white cardstock, and then did some ink blending over the top with some fun distress ink colors, using the emboss resist to reveal the trees on the background. Also added some splatters with the same ink colors, an dsome white paint thinned down with water. Once that dried, I die cut it with Diagonal Stitched Rectangles.

Sentiment was created by using just the outline portion of the letters to form "happy" - using Lea's Uppercase Alpha Dies for the first letter, then Heather's Lowercase Alpha dies for the lower case letters. I used the solid portion of the numbers, and then added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Reverse Sentiment Strips All Things Happy.

Mounted everything on a white cardbase, then finished off with a few sparkly jewels for just a touch of sparkle!
