Birthday Sheep Box Card - Pretty Pink Posh March Release Blog Hop

Good morning! I'm excited today to be hopping along for Day 3 of a 3 day blog hop to celebrate the BRAND NEW March Release from Pretty Pink Posh (also available in a bundle HERE if you just want it all!)! I'm so excited today to share my first EVER box card - I wasn't going to at first, because interactive cards tend to intimidate me a bit, but the Scallop Box Card die intrigued me so much, I couldn't resist. I'm so glad too - since it was SOOO easy to use!

I also spotted the adorable sheep in the Easter Sentiments set, and since my mother has collected sheep for as long as I remember, I knew I wanted to make her a special birthday card. The timing was perfect - YESTERDAY was her 76th birthday, and now that she is in memory care, I really wanted to make something extra special for her. Dementia is a terrible thing - and all I can say is that SOOO much love went into the making of this card. I love how cardmaking gives us a way to channel all those emotions, don't you?

I started by assembling the cute box card, cutting all the base pieces from white cardstock, then added the scallop layers using some MFT plaid pattern paper. The added texture is super fun, and helped ground my scene. 

Then I stamped and colored lots of the sheep and flowers from Easter Sentiments, and die cut them with the coordinating dies. I actually did more than I ended up using, but it never hurts to have extras, right?

I also stamped some tufts of grass and clouds from the cute Spring Chicks set. I colored those, and die cut them out as well, tucking them in place on my scene.

I die cut my main sentiment using the new Mom/Mother Shadow dies - using red cardstock for the main word, and vellum for the shadow layer, and adhered that on the front of my box card.

I added the Happy Birthday from the previously released Birthday Balloon set, and the Just for You from the cute new Spring Jar set.

I mean, isn't the size the cutest thing ever?!?

And I love that it folds flat to fit in your envelope, and easily pops up when you pull it out of the envelope!

I definitely see more box cards in my future! :)
